HLD3 INSTALLATION
Loop Installation Options
The loop pad can be used if the loop is going to be used by one person, and that person generally sits
in the same sear. If two people will be using the loop, two loop pads can be used with the proper
adapter cable. The loop pad is effective only when the hearing aid wearer is sitting directly above it.
Loop wire can be use if more than one person will be using the loop, or the loop pad is not suitable. In
this case, use the loop wire to form a loop around the room or furniture.
There are multiple ways that the loop pad and loop wire can be placed, depending on your room size,
furniture and intended use. Below are some illustrations of possible installations.
Loop pad placed
underneath the
cushion of the
chair
Loop wire shaped around the base of the sofa
to form a loop.
Loop wire shaped around
the perimeter of the room
Loop pad fixed
underneath the
chair using Velcro
or placed on the
floor

HLD3 INSTALLATION
Loop Pad Installation
Place the loop pad underneath the seat that the hearing aid wearer will be sitting in. It can be placed
underneath a cushion, on the floor beneath the seat, or attached underneath with velcro. The wire
coming out of the loop pad can run around the edge of the room to the HLD3. It is ok for the wire to go
around a door frame if necessary as the wire does not produce a magnetic field.
Connect the wire to the HLD3 as shown. The wires can be put in either clip.

HLD3 INSTALLATION
Loop Wire Installation
The loop wire can be placed in a section of the room or around the whole room. Start from where the
HLD3 will be placed loop the wire around the room and back to where the HLD3 driver will be.
Trim the wire down if there is any excess.
Connect both ends of the loop to the terminal on the HLD3. The wires can be connected in either clip.

HLD3 INSTALLATION
Adjusting the HLD3
To power on the HLD3, turn the volume knob clockwise until the power indicator lights up.
Switch the hearing aid(s) to the T-coil mode.
Adjust the volume on the HLD3 to a level that is most comfortable for you (The TV volume
control will not change the volume of HLD3, unless you have a variable audio output on your
TV.) If your TV has variable audio output, the HLD3 volume will change with the TV. Fixed
audio output is desired.
Note: If using a loop pad you will need to sit in the chair where the pad is installed to
hear after an adjustment has been made.
Make final adjustments on the hearing aid(s).
Make a note of the volume level on both the HLD3 and your hearing aid(s) so that this can be
easily adjusted to this level when it is next in use.
When not in use, turn the volume knob counter-clockwise until it clicks to power off.

HLD3 INSTALLATION
