Sound and Spray Option: A warning sound is given just be-
fore the spray is released. The cat associates the sound with
the spray. Use this level of action for the first few days.
Sound Only Option: Once the animal associates the sound
to the spray, the sound will be sufficient to keep the cat at a

motion detector to stabilize itself.

Prevent your cat from:
1. Remove battery cover of motion detector (located on the
top) by pressing down on cover and sliding it back (A).
Insert 4 AAA batteries and replace cover.
2. Place motion detector device on top of refill can by
pressing down firmly (B). The device will clamp onto the
can. Then slide the ring down to secure the device into
position (C).
3. Adjust the angles between detection and spray direction
according to the expected action of the device (D). You
can also adjust the direction of the spray up or down (D).
4. To remove the motion detector from refill can, turn unit
off then lift up ring (C) and remove device (B).

Return Policy:

What kind of gas is in the StayAway can?

When should I switch to the sound only mode?
After a few days using sound/spray, turn off the spray but leave the sound on. Observe your
cat: if you notice that the cat no longer reacts to the sound warning, reset to sound/spray
mode. You can use both options alternatively on a regular basis.
Will it help my cat’s training to move the StayAway around?
Yes! In order to generalize your cat’s learning, you can move the STAYAWAY a few feet away
from its original place. This way, your cat will not only avoid one particular area (e.g.: the
corner of your couch) it will soon avoid the area completely.
Can I leave the StayAway on continuously?
Yes, but if you are in the vicinity of it and your movement is causing it to activate you should turn it off to conserve gas.

Is there anything else I should do to help my cat learn?
Use positive reinforcement (food or petting) when your cat respects the zone or the redirection principle, for example
when the cat goes into the plants, give him a toy to play with. By using the redirection principle or positive reinforcement,
you contribute to your pet’s well-being and you help keep the harmony in your home.
