1 - Safety instructions
This symbol signals an important safety

Important safety information
Symbols used
Any maintenance procedure must be performed by a CONTEST
authorised technical service. Basic cleaning operations must tho-
roughly follow our safety instructions.
This product contains non-isolated electrical components. Do not
undertake any maintenance operation when it is switched on as it
may result in electric shock.
This unit is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it in a wet,
or extremely cold/hot locations. Failure to follow these safety ins-
tructions could result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to
this product or other property.
WARNING : This unit contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the
housing or attempt any maintenance by yourself. In the unlikely even your unit
may require service, please contact your nearest dealer.
In order to avoid any electrical malfunction, please do not use any multi-socket,
power cord extension or connecting system without making sure they are
perfectly isolated and present no defect.
Risk of electrocution
To prevent the hazard of electric shocks, do not use
extension cords, multi-socket or any other connection
system without making sure metal parts completely are
out of reach.
Recycling your device
• As HITMUSIC is really involved in the environmental cause, we only commercialise clean, ROHS compliant products.
• When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local authorities. The separate collection and recycling of your
product at the time of disposal will help conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the
environment.
Warning
This product is equipped with Class 2 LEDs.
Please avoid looking directly at the beam as it may cause
severe eye injuries.

safety instruction.
4 - Follow the instructions:
Please carefully follow each safety instruction to avoid any
physical harm or property damage.
5 - Avoid water and wet locations :
Do not use this product in rain, or near washbasins or other
wet locations.
6 - Installation :
We strongly encourage you to only use a
fixation system or support recommended by
the manufacturer or supplied with this product.
Carefully follow the installation instructions and
use the adequate tools.
Always ensure this unit is firmly fixed to avoid
vibration and slipping while operating as it may result in
physical injury.
7 - Ceiling or wall installation :
Please contact your local dealer before attempting any ceiling
or wall installation.
8 - Ventilation :
The cooling vents ensure a safe use of this product, and avoid
any overheating risk.
Do not obstruct or cover these vents as it may result in
overheating and potential physical injury or product damage.
This product should never been operated in a closed non-
ventilated area such as a flight case or a rack, unless cooling
vents are provided for the purpose .
9 - Heat exposure :
Sustained contact or proximity with warm surfaces may cause
overheating and product damages. Please keep this product
away from any heat source such as a heaters, amplifiers, hot
plates, etc...
10 - Electric power supply :
This product can only be operated according to
a very specific voltage. These information are
specified on the label located at the rear of the
product.
11 - Power cords protection:
Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely
to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against
them, paying particular attention to cords at lugs, convenience
receptacles and the point where they exit from the fixture.
12 - Cleaning precautions :
Unplug the product before attempting any cleaning
operation. This product should be cleaned only with
accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
Use a damp cloth to clean the surface. Do not
wash this product.
13 - Long periods of non use :
Disconnect the unit’s main power during long
periods of non use.
14 - Liquids or objects penetration :
Do not let any object penetrate this product as it
may result in electric shock or fire.
Never spill any liquid on this product as it may
infiltrate the electronic components and result in
electric shock or fire.
15 - This product should be serviced when :
Please contact the qualified service personnel if :
- The power cord or the plug has been damaged.
- Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into
the appliance.
- The appliance has been exposed to rain or water.
- The product does not appear to operate normally.
- The product has been damaged.
16 - Inspection/maintenance :
Please do not attempt any inspection or maintenance by
yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
17 - Operating environment :
Ambient temperature and humidity: +5 - +35°C,
relative humidity must be less than 85% (when
cooling vents are not obstructed).
Do not operate this product in a non-ventilated,
very humid or warm place.

The PARCONTROL34 was designed to be operated horizontally when not fixed on structures.
Please make sure the controller does not endure any force or vibration when being used in order to
prevent it from falling.
In order to secure or install your controller over a non-horizontal surface, please use the fixation
brackets provided for the purpose and respect the safety precautions previously detailed.
Connect the DMX Out socket to your projector via a standard DMX3 cable.
Connect the supplied power cord to the DC Input socket. The cord must not be connected to an
electrical outlet during this process.
Once connected to the PARCONTROL34, connect the other end of the cord to an electrical outlet.
This unit does not feature any power switch, hence it is ready to go as soon as it is connected to an
electrical outlet.
It does not have any automatic shutdown or sleep mode neither.
You can turn your controller on/off via wireless sockets or by using power blocks (On/Off Mode).
Do not connect this unit to a power block without On/Off mode. Any current variation or excessive
intensity will severely damage your controller.

The PARCONTROL34 is a simplified DMX controller dedicated to some CONTEST products.
Please refer to the chapter «Compatible products» or visit our website www.contest-lighting.com/en/ to
find out if your projectors are compatible with this controller.

Your PARCONTROL34 is a powerful controller designed for the IrLED series.
It will give you access to many colours or programs, allowing you to adjust the intensity or the strobe speed
of your projectors.
It is perfect for stages and installations. Its auto-start function and internal microphone allows you to use
music-sensitive programs.
Its two main modes allow you to control many products, in addition to the IrLED series.

Your compatible projector must be assigned in DMX mode, its address must be 1 to be controlled via
the PARCONTROL34.
The PARCONTROL34 features 2 modes, as follows:
- Mode 1 : Red,Green,Blue, Dimmer/strobe and Blanc
- Mode 2 : Red,Green,Blue and White
To switch to mode 1, simultaneously press SHIFT and COLOR SELECT.
All LEDs will flash to confirm the success of the operation.
To switch to mode 1, simultaneously press SHIFT and PROGRAM.
All LEDs will flash to confirm the success of the operation.
In order to guarantee the compatibility of your projectors with these two modes, please make sure that:
- In mode 1, the channels of your projectors are configured as follows:
CHANNEL 1 Red
CHANNEL 2 Green
CHANNEL 3 Blue
CHANNEL 4 Dimmer/Strobe
CHANNEL 5 White
- In mode 2, the channels of your projectors are configured as follows:
CHANNEL 1 Red
CHANNEL 2 Green
CHANNEL 3 Blue
CHANNEL 4 White

A - COLOR SELECT:
The COLOR SELECT mode features two main operating modes:
Shift LED off: Your PARCONTROL34 is in pure RGB mode, giving you access to colours which name
are written below colour buttons, for a total of 12 colours in the upper frame (COLOURS) and 3 white
shades in the lower frame (WHITE).
This mode does not feature pure white as white shades are composed of R G and B colours.
Shift LED on: Your PARCONTROL34 is in RGBW mode, givving you access to colours which name
are written above colour buttons, for a total of 12 pastel colours in the upper frame (COLOURS) and 3
shades of white in the lower frame (WHITE).
In this mode white colour is active, giving you access to pastel colours. The 3 white shades come from
white LEDs to which red, green and blue accents are added.
B - PROG SELECT:
This mode gives you access to a selection of internal programs.
These programs are colour changes (direct or gradual).
- Press PROG SELECT to enter this mode.
- Use the PROG fader to switch from a program to another.
- Use the SPEED fader to adjust the program speed.
- Use the FLASH fader to make your projectors flash.
C - AUTO:
This mode allows you to browse through the controller internal programs.
- Press AUTO to enter this mode.
- Use the SPEED fader to adjust the program speed.
- Use the FLASH fader to make your projectors flash.
D - SOUND ACTIVE:
This mode operates similarly to the AUTO mode, except that the program speed is defined by the
controller internal microphone.
- Press SOUND ACTIVE to enter this mode.
- Use the SPEED/SENSITIVITY fader to calibrate the internal microphone sensitivity.
- The flash function cannot be configured in this mode.
The BLACK-OUT button allows you to turn off all the projectors connected to your controller, no matter
their parameters or mode used. However, your projectors remain active since this function does not
affect their electrical power supply.
The BLACK-OUT LED will remain lit when this function is activated.

4.5 - Compatible products
Go on www.contest-lighting.com/en/ to find the list of CONTEST products compatible with your
controller.
However, it is possible that your controller might be compatible with different projectors sharing the
same DMX characteristics than CONTEST-certified projectors.
Please note that having the same characteristics as Contest products does not guarantee full
compatibility with your controller.
