Note: While this display is IP65 rated, it is recommended that additional
protection is used (a plastic bag over the display works well) if the bike
is on the carrier of a car or if exposed to the elements for extended
periods of time.

VIEWING THE MAIN USER INFORMATION
After starting up the display the default main user screen is ‘speed’.
Short presses of the ‘M’ button change the indicated information in
sequence as below:
Trip Distance> Riding TIME >Ave/Max Speed + Odometer Distance>Trip.
TURNING THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF
Ensure the switch on the battery is in the ‘On’ position.
Hold the Display Power button for 2 seconds, then the display will power
on.
With the display on, holding the Power button for 2 seconds will turn off
the system.
Additionally, you can shut the system down by turning the battery off.
MAIN USER SCREEN

Hold the + button for 2 seconds to turn on the Converted System riding
lights and display back light. The light symbol will show when on.
Hold the + button for 2 seconds to turn the lights off.
Converted System lights can be purchased from www.converted.co.nz or
dealers.
SETTING THE PEDAL ASSIST LEVEL
Adjusting the assist level sets the amount of motor power that assists
your pedalling.
Press + (UP) or - (DOWN) to change the output power of the motor. The
power ranges from level 0 to level 5. Level 0 deactivates the pedal assist
system. Default start level is 1, Level 5 is the maximum power.

Hold the - button down to cause the bike to move along at walking
speed.

Turn the system on, within 10 Seconds press and hold Mode. The screen
will switch to the ‘setting’ menu.
Navigate the menu using short presses of the up/down keys. Select
adjustment sub-menus with a short press of the ‘M’ key.
Use the ‘M’ key and up/down to adjust the associated values(see below).
Press ‘Exit’ to accept a setting and return to the main setting menu.
To exit the settings menu, either select ‘Exit’ or wait 10 seconds for
the display to time-out and automatically revert back to the main user
mode.
UNITS
In the ‘Wheel’ menu, press ‘M’ to select the correct value to match the
wheel diameter. Selectable values include: 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26,
27.5, 700C, 28, 29.
Select ‘Exit’ to accept a setting and return to the main setting menu.
In the ‘Unit’ setting menu, use the M button to toggle between KM/H
and MPH
Select ‘Exit’ to accept a setting and return to the main setting menu.
Enter and adjust within the settings menu.

PASSWORD
For added security, it is possible to set a password/4 digit pin number
which needs to be entred to start the ebike system.
In the ‘Password’ menu, press ‘M’ to turn the password function on/off.
When the password is turned on, an old password will be requested, the
default is ‘0000’. Use ‘M’ to select each digit, and up/down to change
the value.
Then enter a new password/pin number (twice to conrm).
Press Mode to conrm the modication and go to the next setting.
the next time the bike is turned on, the password will be requested.
ASSIST SPEED-LIMIT SETTING

AUTO OFF
When the running speed is faster than the speed limit setting, the
controller will cut off the motor power. The speed limit default setting is
25Km/h. Press +/- to select the desired value. 99Km/h is unlimited.
Press ‘M’ to conrm the modication and go to the next setting.
The Battery menu gives a summary of the % and current Voltage of the
battery and number of charge cycles.
The Info menu gives a summary of the display information. serial
number, Firmware and Hardware versions.
This will perform a factory reset and all cutom settings will revert back
to their default setting
It is possible to adjust the system time-out which shuts down the
system after inactivity.
In ‘AutoOff’ mode, scroll up/down and select the desired Auto Off delay
between 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10 minutes. Default is 5 Minutes.

CLEARING TRIP METER, MAX AND AVERAGE SPEED
Turn the system on, AFTER 10 Seconds press and hold ‘M’.
The screen will switch to the ‘Clean’ mode, Press ‘M’ to clean data,
select ‘Yes’ to clear Avg Max and Trip meter (the odometer will not be
cleared).

FAULTS
TROUBLE SHOOTING
My bike won’t go!
1. Ensure the battery is charged by pressing the battery level
indicator button on the side of the battery.
2. Follow the cables on the bike and make sure no plugs have
been pulled out.
3. Make sure that brake levers are in their ‘out’ position.
Disconnecting the brake lever plug can help remove this as a
potential issue.
4. Contact your Converted System dealer.
ERROR CODES
If the system detects an electrical issue, an error code will show up on
the display. This can assist in determining the fault and will self clear
after the fault has been xed.
04 Throttle not returning
Check for obstruction or damage to throttle movement.
Replace throttle.
05 Throttle sensor problem
Replace throttle.
06 Low voltage protection
Flat battery or incorrect battery. Change battery. Check for
battery connections for corrosion.
07 Over voltage protection
Incorrect battery. Use correct battery.

08 Motor sensor problem
Contact service center.
09 Motor wire problem
Contact service center.
11 Temperature sensor problem
Contact service center.
12 Current sensor error
Contact service center.

Contact service center.
21 Speed sensor problem
Check speed sensor is close to magnet on wheel. LED on
sensor should ash when magnet passes. If no ash,
replace sensor.
30 Communication problem
Check all plugs. Check cables for damage. Contact service
center..
