1, The Edger comesfully assembled exceptfor the Handle, which isin piecesand connected

ATTACHING THE HANDLE
The _handlecomes packagedin sections,whichare connectedtogetherby internalcoated
wiringru_ningthroughthe middleof allthe handlepieces.
•1, Carefuily remove packingmaterialand plasticwPappingaroundtooland handlepieces,
being carefulto keep piecesconnected.
2. Remove the Knobsand CurvedHead Boltsfrom the plastic bag.
3, Remove the black plastic tube coating from the piece ofwire betweenthe Handle and
the Upper Tube (Fig.l). Thiswillenable the bolttofit throughthesmallerdiameterHandle.
4. Slide the Handledowninto the end of the UpperTube so the holeslineup (Fig. 3a).
Carefully insertbolt,beingca'refulto avoid coveredwire _nsidehandleshaft(Fig. 3b).
Fasten togetherby tighteningKnobonto CurvedHead B01t.
5. Slide UpperTube downinto LowerTube so that holesline up.De n_t removethe black
plastt_tube coatingfrom thewire at this¢onnecti(_n;Themare two positloP_savailablefor
adjustment-t0your pmlerred height(FigAa).=NOTE: When you fkst ir_sertthe bolt,
it may be necessaryto wiggleit_amfully toget _pastthe coated wireinside the

Use the Cut Line Indicator to help position the Edger. Start edging, moving the too! forward
slowlyalong edge of paved surface, keeping the Edge Guide pressed lightly against the
pavement edge.

For the first edging ofthe season, itis best to move forward slowlybecause the
grass isthickest then. Subsequent edging wi!l be take lesstime. Ifthe tool slewsdown,
back it up an inch or two until the blade comes up tQnormal speed. During edging some
sparks may be generated from hitting stones or pavedsurface. This is normal.
Do not attempt te edge whenthe grass or sell is wet er moist- for electrical safety and
tOprevent clogging of the blade chamber.If you mustedge underconditions that cause
the blade chamber to become clogged, release PowerSwitchLever,wait for bladeto
come toacompletestoP,UNPLUG TOOL, open BladeGua_ door.See OPENING
