GENERAL OPERATION
Read,understand,andfollowallinstructionsonyourequipmentand•
intheirmanualsbeforeattemptingtoassembleandoperate.Keepthis
manualinasafeplaceforfutureandregularreferenceandforordering
replacement parts.
Tohelpavoidbladecontactorathrownobjectinjury,keepbystanders,•
helpers, children and pets at least 75 feet from the mower while it is in
operation. Stop machine if anyone enters the area.
Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentistobeused.Remove•
allstones,sticks,wire,bones,toys,andotherforeignobjectswhich
couldbepickedupandthrownbytheblade(s).Thrownobjectscan
causeseriouspersonalinjury.
Alwayswearsafetyglassesorsafetygogglesduringoperationandwhile•
performinganadjustmentorrepairtoprotectyoureyes.Thrownobjects
whichricochetcancauseseriousinjurytotheeyes.
Donotoperatethemowerwithoutthedischargecoverorentiregrass•
catcherinitsproperplace.Amissingordamageddischargecoveror
grassbagattachmentcomponentmayresultinthrownobjectsorblade
contactinjuries.
Donotputhandsorfeetnearrotatingpartsorunderthecuttingdeck.•
Contactwiththeblade(s)canamputatehandsandfeet.
Shutoffmower’sengineandwaitforbladestocometoacompletestop•
beforeuncloggingmower’sdischargeopeningorbaggerparts.
Slowdownbeforeturning.Operatethemachinesmoothly.Avoiderratic•
operationandexcessivespeed.Beawarethatagrasscatcherattach-
mentcanaffectthehandlingcharacteristicsofyourmower.
Disengageblade(s),setparkingbrake,stopengineandwaituntilthe•
blade(s)cometoacompletestopbeforeopeningbaggerattachment’s
topcover,removinggrasscatcher,emptyinggrass,uncloggingchute,
removinganygrassordebris,ormakinganyadjustments.
Neverleavearunningmachineunattended.Alwaysturnoffblade(s),•
placetransmissioninneutral,setparkingbrake,stopengineandremove
keybeforedismounting.
Yourmachineisdesignedtocutnormalresidentialgrassofaheightno•
morethan10”.Donotattempttomowthroughunusuallytall,drygrass
(e.g.,pasture)orpilesofdryleaves.Drygrassorleavesmaycontact
theengineexhaustand/orbuilduponthemowerdeckpresentinga
potential fire hazard.

SLOPE OPERATION
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontrolandtip-overaccidents
whichcanresultinsevereinjuryordeath.Attachmentscanalsoaffectthe
stabilityofthemachine.Allslopesrequireextracaution.
Foryoursafety,usetheslopeguideincludedaspartofthismanualto
estimatetheangleofslopesbeforeoperatingthismachineonaslopedorhilly
area.Iftheslopeisgreaterthan10degreesasshownontheslopeguide,do
notoperatethemowerwiththegrassbagattachmentinstalledonthatareaor
seriousinjurycouldresult.
DO:
Mowupanddownslopes,notacross.Exerciseextremecautionwhen1.
changingdirectiononslopes.
Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenobjects.Uneven2.
