Runner Smart Remote
Installation & User
Guide

Installation
Insert the Smart Remote receiver board into the Crow Runner plastic box using the slots
provided to the left of the main PCB Using the connection lead provided, plug the
connectors into the receiver and the Runner PCB keypad BUS jack (White 5 pin socket)
Programming Smart Remote Receiver to Runner
The Smart Remote Receiver gets enrolled into the Runner alarm panel as a User PIN #
You do Not need to ‘Teach’ the remotes into the Runner, They are Pre-Loaded to the
Receiver Up to 25 Smart Remotes can be learned into a single receiver All Smart Remotes
will report to the central station and log into the Runner event memory as this single user
FIRST
we must assign a PIN # to be used for the enrolling of the Smart Receiver
1 Assign a USER PIN # in the Runner panel E g Program User 10 as 2323 (In Installer
Programming Mode, Press PROGRAM + 1 + ENTER + 10 + ENTER, 2323 +
ENTER + ENTER Then exit installer programming mode)
THEN we must enroll the 2323 User-10 Code PIN # into the Smart Remote Receiver
2 Press the program button ‘PROG’ on the Smart Remote receiver board for one second
(There is a 20Sec Ti eout Li it for this PROG Mode), LED illuminates
indicating the receiver is ready to learn the PIN # from the Runner Panel
3 From the Runner Keypad, Arm & Disarm the system by using the 2323 (User-10) PIN
Code (i e : 2323 (User-10) PIN + Enter and repeat same again) The LED on the
Smart Remote Receiver will extinguish indicating successful enrolling of the PIN # into
the receiver If unable to perfor steps-2 & 3 before the Receiver’s 20Sec Ti eout
Li it of the ‘PROG’ Mode, then Power Down the syste and re ove the S art
Re ote Receiver fro the panel and connect it to the white Loo Wire Connector at
the Rear of the Keypad. Then Power-up the syste , Perfor steps-2 & 3. Power
Down the syste and re-fit the S art Re ote Receiver back into the panel.

Programming Smart Remotes to Smart Receiver
The Smart Remote receiver can enroll up to 25 x 4 channel remote controls
1 Press and hold the program button PROG on the receiver for one second; LED on
2 Press button 1 to learn (You ust learn the re ote in by pressing button 1 or
the receiver will not function correctly).
LED flashes 3 times and stays on for 4s
then off Done
3 To enroll more remote controls into the receiver repeat process
Disabling the Remotes
Change the User-10 Code (2323) PIN # to which the Remote is enrolled with
Delete all Remotes
Press and hold program button PROG on the receiver for 5 seconds till LED turns off LED
flashes 10 times Done
Delete a single Remote
1 Press and hold program button PROG on the receiver for 1 second; LED on
2 Press Button 1 and Button 2 simultaneously; LED flashes 5 times and off Successfully
deleting the next registered Remote
Button Operation
Button 1: Press 0 5 second = Away; press 3 seconds = Stay
Button 2: Disarm from Away, Stay and Panic
Button 3: Relay 1 – momentary
Button 4: Relay 2 – momentary
Button 1&2: Press for 3 seconds = panic
The Smart Remote receiver has two on board relays that can be used to operate garage
door or control other switchable devices
Relay 1 can be programmed for momentary, Latching or delay operation
When enrolling remotes into receiver, press button 2 to learn for latching operation
When enrolling remotes into receiver, press button 3 to learn for 15s delay operation

Set Arm/Disarm Chirps/Flashes
Siren Chirps
1 Connect Open Collector Output 1 (on the receiver board) to Output 1 in parallel with
the sirens on the Runner Panel
2 Arm: the siren beeps once; Disarm: siren beeps twice
Strobe Flashes
1 Connect Open Collector Output 2 (on the receiver) to Output 2 in parallel with the
strobe on the Runner Panel
2 Arm: the strobe flashes once; Disarm: the strobe flashes three times
NB: The new combination siren & strobe unit with the strobe light made up of high
intensity LED’s must be used in conjunction with this feature for accurate flash counting
