Always follow these safety cautions when using this appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the
appliance.This appliance should be used only as described within this instruction book.
ßEnsure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from the kettle before

ßThis appliance should not be used by adults or children whose lack of experience, product knowledge or
disability might cause a hazard, unless they have been correctly instructed and are adequately supervised.
ßChildren should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this product.
ßWhilst in use the surfaces will become extremely hot. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles.
ßDo not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those recommended by Cuisinart.
ßAlways inspect this appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if damaged or if the
appliance has been dropped.In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a fault, contact the Cuisinart

ßUnplug from mains when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts,

ßDo not place on or near other heated surfaces.( e.g. gas burners, electric hobs, ovens etc.)

ßThis appliance should be used only for preparation of drinks / food as described within the instructions for
use that accompany it. Please retain these instructions for further use.
ßThis Kettle must only be used with the base provided.
ßTo avoid injury or possible re, do not cover the appliance when in use.
ßDo not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
ßDo not exceed the maximum ll level as clearly marked on the water level indicator. Overlling will cause
the kettle to leak.
ßDo not turn the kettle power on when there is no water in the jug.
ßEmpty the water after each use.
ßAlways close the lid before plugging in and turning on the kettle.
ßAvoid steam from the nozzle and the lid.
ßIf the kettle can be lled through the lid, position lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
ßDo not remove the lid whilst the water is boiling as scalding may occur.
ßEnsure that the kettle is switched off before removing the kettle jug from the stand.
ßDo not place on heat sensitive surfaces.
ßSwitch off and unplug the appliance after use.

ßWARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the
cut off plug is disposed of safely.

keep away from babies and children.These bags are not toys.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as
household waste. Instead it should be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of
electrical and electronic equipment.

Instructions for Use
Before using for the rst time we recommend operating the kettle 2 or 3 times. Fill to the MAX. marked
ll level, bring to the boil and when boiling has nished and the kettle has switched off, discard the water
and rinse out the inside. This will remove any dust or residue remaining from its manufacture.
ßOpen the lid by pressing the lid release button, located on the top of the handle.
ßFill the kettle with the required amount of cold water, the water gauge is at the rear of the kettle and is
marked with min and max, please take care not to exceed the max mark as this may cause spitting from
the spout when boiling.
ßEnsure the lid is closed and locked in position; you will feel and hear a slight click.
ßAlign the kettle over the powerbase and gently lower it in to position, it will find its own way and sit
firmly on the base.
ßSwitch the kettle on by pressing down the power switch at the rear of the kettle, you will hear a slight
click and the switch will illuminate with a blue LED.
ßThe kettle will switch off automatically when it has completed the boil, however the kettle can be
switched off at any time by simply lifting the power switch in an upwardly direction, the LED will switch
off and the same click will be heard as switching on.
ßCarefully lift the kettle off the powerbase and pour the water, please note if the kettle is removed from
the powerbase before it’s automatically switched off, it will carry on to boil when it’s replaced on the
powerbase.
NB: A couple of water droplets or condensation may appear on the powerbase, this is quite normal and
not a leak.
NB: Do not open the lid of the kettle when pouring, escaping steam may scald.
ßOnce the kettle is re-located on the powerbase it can be switched on again at any time, if the switch will
not stay down it means the control is still a little warm, this is normal and it will simply re-set itself in a
few seconds when cooled and will be ready to boil again.

Hints and tips
ßAlways use fresh, cold water each time you boil.
ßAs soon as the kettle boils, pour the water into your ceramic pot or cup directly onto the tea. The tea
should be allowed to steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The longer it steeps the stronger it is. For iced tea, brew
tea double-strength (steep twice as long) and pour over ice. Stir and serve as desired.
N.B. For your safety, always close the lid when the kettle is in use.
ßIf the kettle is accidentally switched on without a sufcient water level, a boil dry mechanism will
automatically switch the kettle off.
ßEmpty the kettle after each use. Do not leave water standing in the kettle

Cleaning & Maintenance
ßAlways unplug the appliance from the mains outlet before cleaning.
ßAllow to cool before cleaning the appliance.
ßClean the exterior surface of the kettle with a clean damp cloth to preserve its original highly polished
nish. Dry and polish with a soft cloth.
ßClean the water lter with a soft, clean, damp cloth once a month or as necessary.
ßDo not use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents of any kind on the interior or exterior of the kettle.
WARNING! Do not immerse the kettle or power base in water or other liquid. Ensure the electric kettle
socket is kept dry.
Descaling
ßTo get the best performance from your Cuisinart Stainless Steel Jug Kettle, we recommend descaling it from
time to time. Frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how often you use your kettle.
ßWe suggest use of a kettle descaler in order to dissolve the scale. Simply follow the manufacturer’s
guidelines on the packaging.
ßAlternatively pour in enough white vinegar to cover the bottom of the jug by about 2cm. Bring the
vinegar to the boil; you may need to repeat this several times with cooled vinegar to remove the build-up
completely. When the kettle is descaled, empty the kettle and rinse out several times with clean water.Take
care not to inhale fumes.

ßThe guarantee covers defects under normal use from date of purchase and ceases to be valid in the event
of alteration or repair by unauthorised persons.
