IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions –All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product
is operated.
2. Retain instruction –The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future
reference.
3. Heed Warnings –All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions should be
adhered to.
4. Follow Instructions –All operating and use instructions should be followed.
5. Cleaning –Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners
or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
6. Attachments –Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer as they
may cause hazards.
7. Water and Moisture –Do not use this product near water-for example, near a bath tub, wash
bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool; and the like.
8. Accessories –Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table.
The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the
product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer,
or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s
instructions, and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
9. A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and
uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.
10. Ventilation –Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure
reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must
not be blocked or covered. Placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surfaces
should never block the openings. This product should not be place in a built-in installation such
as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions
have been adhered to.
11. Power Source –This product should be operated be operated only from the type of power
source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your
home, consult your product dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate
from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
12. Grounding or Polarization –Caution: To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to
wide slot, fully insert. This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety
feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug
should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the
safety purpose of the polarized plug.
13. Power-Cord Protection –Power-supply cord should be routed so that they are not likely to be
walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to
cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.

14. Lightning –For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left
unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect
the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and
power line surges.
15. Outdoor Antenna Grounding –If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the
product, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection
against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electric Code,
ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the must and
supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of
grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connections to grounding
electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. (See Figure 2)

16. Power Lines –An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead
power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or
circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep
from touching such power lines or circuits, as contact with them might be fatal.
17. Overloading –Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience
receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
18. Object and Liquid Entry –Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as
they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in fire or electric
shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
19. Servicing –Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may
expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
20. Damage Requiring Service –Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to
qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product.
c. If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
d. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust
only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper
adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work
by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation.
e. If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way.
f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance.

21. Replacement Parts –When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has
used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the
original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
22. Safety Check –Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service
technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating
condition.
23. Heat –The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat
registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that product heat.

WARNING
Read the instruction manual before you attempt to use the unit. Handle glass panels with care.
Consult your dealer or service personnel if you have questions about the installation, operation or
safety of the unit.
Make sure unit is plugged into an 110V-127V outlet. Using higher voltage outlets could cause the
unit to malfunction or catch fire. Make sure all electrical connections (including extensions and inter
connectors) are properly made.
Turn unit off before unplugging it from power source.
Do not expose to temperatures above 95 ºF.
Do not place unit near heaters or in areas subjected to direct sunlight.
Place unit where there is good air circulation.
Protect unit from dust, moisture, water and other liquids.
Do not place unit near TVs, speakers and other objects that generate strong magnetic fields.
Do not clean with strong chemical agents.

Do not operate unit if it is not working normally or has been damaged in any way. Turn unit off,

Do not listen to headphones at high volumes.
Do not obstruct vents on unit.
Do not attempt to create your own stand for the unit. Use only the included stand.

Do not allow children to operate unit without adult supervision.
Erratic performance may occur if unit is used in rooms lit with fluorescent lights.
CAUTION –This CD player may be used only with the captioned manufacturer’s stand. Use
with other stand may result in instability causing possible injury.

INSTALLATION
FOR TABLE TOP
lPut the main unit and the
speaker on a piece of soft
cloth, which for preventing
scratches the unit front
panel.
lUse your finger press on the
decoration part, which are at
the groove of the main unit rear
cabinet and slide down to
release away it from the
groove.
lInsert the support plate into the groove.
lSlide up the support plate until it is
locked.
lIf you put your equipment on a glass table or a very smooth surface. The main unit and
speaker box would be easy to move by hand pushing. You could insert the rubber sleeve to
the bottom of the support plate.
lThis product is designed both for placing vertically and horizontally. Removing the support
plate away for horizontal placing. The display can be rotated staying in 1 of 3 kind of viewing
angle (30º, 60º, 90º) as you like.
FOR WALL MOUNTING:
1. Use the wall-mounting template
supplied with unit to make anchor
hole marks on the wall. Make
sure the marks are leveled.
2. Drill 3/16" holes on the marks.
3. Insert the plastic anchor supplied
with unit through the hole and tap
it until it is flush with the wall.
4. Inset the screw and tighten the
screw 3mm sway from the wall.
5. Hangthe main unit and the
speakers to the screw.

SETTING UP AND CONNECTING THE STEREO SYSTEM
Antenna connection
FM: Install the FM Antenna wire connecting
plate to FM Antenna Terminal (19) and
tighten it with a screwdriver. Or plug in the
FM Antenna (optional). If stereo broadcast
received, the STEREO indicator will be
displayed on the display (1)
AM: This unit is equipped with a built-in directional ferrite antenna, move and rotate the unit for
best reception.
Speaker connection
To insert the speaker cables by pushing down the terminal lever of
Left Speaker Terminal (21) and Right Speaker Terminal (22).
Please ensure the cables are connected into the speaker
terminals with the correct polarities. Connect the left speaker to
the terminals L and the right speaker to the terminals R.
LINE IN (AUX IN) connection
1. Connect one end of a RCA plug signal wire (not included) to Aux Input Socket (18) and the other
end of wire to your home equipment. Make sure the polarity of the right and the left channel is
correct.
2. Press the POWER (4) (43) to switch on the unit
3. Press LINE IN (29) on the remote control while display indicates “LINE”.
4. Play your home equipment.
SUBWOOFER connection
1. Connect one end of a RCA plug signal wire (not included) to Subwoofer Socket (17) and the
other end of wire to your subwoofer.
2. Turn on the unit and your subwoofer.
3. Play your home equipment.
Mains connection
This system is designed to operate on AC110V-127V ~60Hz house
current. Connecting this system to any other power supply could result in
damage to the unit, which is not covered by your warranty. If this plug will
not fit into your outlet, you should have your outlet changed by a qualified
licensed electrician.
1. Unwind the AC Power Cord on the main unit.
2. Insert the plug into any convenient AC outlet.
As soon as the unit has been connected with the mains voltage, parts of the unit are in operation
due to the standby function. To switch off the unit completely pull the mains plug.

CLOCK AND TIMER
CLOCK
1. While unit is off (still plugged in), press CLOCK ADJ. (42) once. Hour digits will flash.
2. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct hour.
3. Press CLOCK ADJ. (42) again. Minute’s digits will flash.
4. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct minutes.
5. Press CLOCK ADJ. (42) to set time. Digits will stop flashing and clock will start.
TIMER
Clock should be set before using timer.
1. Press MODE (31). TIMER ON indicator will flash.
2. Press PROGRAM (47). Hour digits will flash.
3. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct hour.
4. Press PROGRAM (47). Minute’s digits will flash.
5. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct minutes.
6. Press PROGRAM (47) to set time for Timer On. To cancel Timer On setting, press MODE (31)
several times until you reach the Timer On setting mode. Press TIMER (11) to cancel Timer On
setting.
7. To set Timer Off, press MODE (31) once. TIMER OFF indicator will flash.
8. Press PROGRAM (47). Hour digits will flash.
9. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct hour.
10. Press PROGRAM (47). Minute’s digits will flash.
11. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select correct minutes.
12. Press PROGRAM (47) to set time for Timer Off. To cancel Timer Off setting, press MODE (31)
several times until you reach the Timer Off setting mode. Press TIMER (11) to cancel Timer Off
setting.
BASIC OPERATION
TURNING ON
LCD will illuminate dimly when unit has been successfully plugged in and power is flowing. Press
POWER (2,43) to turn unit on. Power On indicator will light up. Select CD (8,30) or TUNER (10,39)
as the music source. To turn unit off, press POWER again.
VOLUME CONTROL
Press VOL (3,48) and VOL (6,37) to adjust the volume level. Press MUTE (25) to turn
volume to 0. Press MUTE (25) again to turn sound back on.
EQ
Press EQ (32) repeatedly to cycle through the equalizer presets. Presets are Flat, Rock, Jazz, Pop
and Classic.
CHANGING DISPLAY
When power is off, press MODE (31) to cycle through the following display options:
Clock, Timer On setting, Timer Off setting.
Press MODE (31) while a CD is playing to cycle through the following display options:
Playing Time, Remaining Time, Clock, Timer On setting, Timer Off setting.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1. Press POWER (4) (43) to turn unit on.
2. Press TUNER (10,39) to select radio mode.
3. Press BAND (10,40) to select AM or FM band.
4. Press TUNING + (12,35) or TUNING –(14,26) to select the desired station. For automatic
tuning, press and hold TUNING + (12,35) or TUNING –(14,26) until you approach the desired
station, then tap the buttons until you reach the station. For manual tuning, press TUNING +
(12,35) or TUNING –(14,26) briefly and release. The tuner will skip to the next clear station.
ST/MONO
Repeatedly pressing the ST/MONO (41) switches between stereo and mono reception. The stereo
reception of a station in the FM band is indicated on the display. In case of stereo stations with a
bad reception (noise infested reception) we recommend switching the tuner to mono reception.
STORING PRESET STATIONS
1. Tune radio to the desired station.
2. Press PROGRAM (47).
3. Press PRESET/REPEAT (34) repeatedly to set the preset station number.
4. Press PROGRAM (47) to store station. To store additional stations, repeat above steps. Unit
stores 20 FM and 12 AM preset stations.
Note: You can also select directly the desired program place by pressing numerical buttons "0-9"
(45) or "+10” (46) on the remote control.
PLAYING CD’S
Press POWER (4) (43) to turn unit on and press CD Function button (8,30) to select CD mode.
Press CD DOOR Open/Close (5,44) and place a CD on the spindle so it locks in place. Press CD
DOOR Open/Close (5,44) to close door. The number of tracks and the playing time of the CD will
appear on LCD.
PLAY/PAUSE (9,28) –plays CD. Press PLAY/PAUSE during play to pause; press again
to resume play.
STOP (13,38) –stops CD play.
/SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) –use to skip to desired track. Hold either
button down to search through a particular track.
PRESET/REPEAT (34) –press to have one track or all tracks play repeatedly. Press again to return
to normal play.
RANDOM (33) –press on remote control during CD play to play tracks in random order. Press
again to return to normal play.
PROGRAMMED PLAY
CD player allows you to program up to 16 tracks in a sequence of your choice.
1. Press PROGRAM (47) while CD play is stopped.
2. Press /SEARCH (12,36) and /SEARCH (14,27) to select the desired song to be

programmed.
3. Press PROGRAM (47) when you have reached the desired song. The track will be stored in
PROGRAM.
4. Repeat steps to program additional tracks.
5. When programming is complete, press PLAY/PAUSE (9,28) to play the programmed
track list.
To review programmed tracks, presses PROGRAM (47) repeatedly. Press STOP to clear
programmed tracks.
Note on CD-R/RW discs
lBecause of non-standardized format definition / production of CD-R/RW, playback quality &
performance are not guaranteed.
lIt is not responsible for the playability of CD-R/RW in any case due to recording conditions
such as PC performance, writing software, media ability and etc.
lDo not attach aseal or label to either side (the record able side or the labeled side) of a
CD-R/RW disc. It may cause malfunction.
Do not load aun-recordedCD-R/RW disc. It will take over 30 seconds to read the disc. The disc
may be damaged if you try to open the disc compartment while reading the disc.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
lTreat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to contact
with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc.
lDo not attach adhesive tape, stickers etc., to the disc label.
lClean the disc periodically with soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or adhesive
cleaners to clean the disc. If necessary, use to CD cleaning kit.
lIf disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the disc, it is probably dirty or damaged (scratched).
lWhen cleaning the disc, wipe in straight lines from the center of the disc to the edge of the
disc. Never wipe in circular motions.
lTo remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc
outs, holding it carefully by the edges.
lFingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc’s recorded surface with a soft
cloth. Unlike conventional records. Compact disc have no groove to collect dust and
microscopic debris, so gently wiping with a piece of soft cloth should remove most particles.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service.

Noise or sound distorted
on AM or FM broadcasts. FM: Wire antenna is not
extended. Extend FM Wire antenna.

positioned correctly. Reposition the unit until best reception is obtained.
FM STEREO does not
appear on display. You have tuned to a mono station or station too weak. Select another FM station.
Unit not at Tuner function AM or
FM band. Press Tuner Function button to AM or FM.
AM or FM, no sound.
Volume at minimum. Increase Volume.
Compact Disc Player Unit not in CD function mode. Press CD Function button.CD Player will not play.
CD is not installed or installed
incorrectly. Insert CD with label side up.
CD skips while playing. Disc is dirty or scratched. Wipe disc with cloth or use
another disc.
