1 Introduction
Congratulations for choosing the Clavaestacas JC300 post driver.
1.1 Important user information
PREVIOUS REQUIREMENTS
The machine’s manual is delivered together with the motor’s manual. It is
important for both manuals must be stored together at all times in order to be able
to resolve any issues about the machine. All the motor’s instructions are
contained in the manual.
PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL carefully for information about the correct
transport, management and maintenance of the machine. Failing to do so may
derive in personal injury or equipment failures. This manual and the safety
stickers on your machine may be available in other languages (please contact
the manufacturer).
THIS MANUAL MUST BE CONSIDERED an integral part of the machine and be
delivered together with it, should it be resold.
THE MEASUREMENTS present in this manual will be expressed using the metric
system.
The RIGHT AND LEFT sides shall be established facing the machine from the
opposite side of the recoil starter.
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE PRODUCT’S IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS.
The manufacturer will need these numbers for the purposes of ordering spare
parts. Store these numbers in a safe location outside the machine.
Any ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL manipulation of the hammer cover or
tweaks or adjustments to the machine BEYOND THOSE SPECIFIED by the
manufacturer shall render the warranty void.
Any MANIPULATION OF THE ALTERNATIVE SET that modifies the DRIVING
FREQUENCY OR THAT BROADENS the post-driving range BEYOND THE
MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIED values shall render the warranty void.
Any MANIPULATION OR MODIFICATION of any of the machine’s parts or
accessories shall render the warranty void.
The Clavaestacas JC300 may not be used in such a way, or in operations or
conditions not foreseen by the manufacturer.

BEFORE DELIVERING THIS MACHINE, the manufacturer or their authorised
representative must carry out a pre-delivery check.
Once the first 30 hours of service have elapsed, we recommend booking a post-
sales inspection with the manufacturer or their representative to ensure the
correct functioning of the machine.
THIS MACHINE IS DESIGNED EXCLUSIVELY for use as a wood or metal post
driver in terrains subject to penetration via impact, such as agricultural, forestry,
garden, beach or other terrains. However, it may also be used with posts made
from other materials, such as thermoplastics and composites, though this is
subject to consultation and acceptance by the manufacturer.
The manufacturer shall not be held accountable for any consequences or
damages derived from an incorrect use of the machine. In this case, the user
shall be held accountable for any and all risks incurred.
Similarly, a correct usage according to the machine’s characteristics implies the
strict observance of all the manufacturer’s instructions in terms of use,
maintenance and repair.
The sheathing of posts is carried out manually by two operators, from the frontal
section of the machine and with the post in a quasi-horizontal position, resting on
the ground. In order to place the post and machine in a vertical position, the post’s
lower tip must be pivoted.
This machine may ONLY BE HANDLED, maintained or repaired by individuals
who are aware of the peculiarities and risks involved, and that have been briefed
on the corresponding safety procedures (accident prevention). Accident
prevention and any other acknowledged regulations on health and safety must
be observed at all times. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any
modifications introduced in the machine without their prior, express authorisation.
If you are not the machine’s original proprietor, you must contact the
manufacturer to communicate the unit’s serial number. This will allow the
manufacturer to notify you of any product improvement programmes.

EC BRANDS
Given the machine’s characteristics, which we will be detailing more in depth, it
is not included in ANNEX IV of Royal Decree 1644/2008 of 10 October (Directive
2006/42/EC of 17 May 2006).
The harmonised standards applicable to this type of machinery have been used
for its design and manufacture.
Based on the aforementioned and given that the machine is not included in
ANNEX IV of Royal Decree 1644/2008, the procedure for compliance evaluation
the manufacturer has opted for corresponds to option a), section 3, article 12 of
R.D. 1644/2008.
EC brands and the corresponding Declaration of compliance are valid for the
machine provided:
•It is used without modifications as a unit linked to a mechanism for placing
the materials, for loading and unloading and that features the
corresponding EC brand,
•It connects to other EC branded machines, in which case the manufacturer
must be in agreement, or
•It is used in the same conditions in which it was delivered by the
manufacturer, with the exception of any modifications described in the
user documentation.
The Declaration of compliance is valid only for machines that comply with the EC
brand as per standard 2006/42/EC.
COMPATIBILITY OF THE POSTS USED
All the posts used with the machine must be in line with the dimensions and
materials specified by the machine’s manufacturer.

1.3 Post driver
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The JC300 is designed to drive posts in low to medium soil compaction by means
of a motorised percussion mechanism that generates hammers the top section
of a post. The machine operates using a manual work cycle and by manually
loading the materials.
The percussion mechanism is linked to a source of energy comprising a four-
stroke internal combustion engine and has low emission levels.
The motor is engaged by a manually operated recoil starter featuring a centrifugal
clutch.
The motor is fitted with a choke that facilitates starting a cold motor.
The post driver has an on/off switch that may be pressed using the same hand
that operates the throttle mechanism, the operator’s right hand.
Given that the motor is powered using a carburettor that may work in an inclined
position, the posts may be loaded to the machine whilst it is on.
