Remove the battery’s protective
film. Carefully open the battery
compartment at the back of the
unit. Insert or replace 1 piece 3 V
lithium battery CR2032 according
to the polarity. The battery’s sym-
bol (+) must face upwards. If the
kitchen scale fails to operate, remove the battery completely
and insert it again. Replace the battery cover carefully.
NOTE: Remove the batteries if you do not intend to use the
unit for a period of three months or longer before placing
the device in storage.
Your kitchen scale is equipped with a “low battery” indica-
tor. The symbol appears if the battery must be replaced
soon.
If “Lo” is displayed measurement is no longer possible and
you must replace the battery.
5. Weighing
WARNING:
D • o not place overweight items on the scale.
The maximum capacity is 11 lb (5 kg). This may
damage the unit and cause injuries.
CAUTION:
T • his scale is intended for consumer use only.
It is not intended for commercial or medical
use. This unit does not support the standards
required for professional use.
O• nly use this product for its intended purpose.
Do not use this product for any purpose other
than weighing food.
NOTICE:

Place the scale on a hard flat surface at room temperature
free of vibration to ensure reliable and accurate readings.
Switch the scale on by pressing “TARE/ON”. After checking
the display with all digits lighting up the scale shows “0”
indicating that the scale is now ready for weighing.
NOTE: Do not put the foods or the bowl on the edge of the
glass platform. The scale may tip over.
5.1 Weighing without a bowl
Place the solid item to be weighed directly on the scale. The
weight thereof is displayed immediately. As you add weight,
the weight displayed will increase. Do not place food on the
scale before turning on. The scale auto-tares.
5.2 Weighing with a bowl
Choose a container that will safely balance on the platform
without tipping or falling. Do not use a heavy container, as
this might reduce the maximum capacity of the scale.
If the weight of the container shall be zeroed out place the
container on the scale while it is switched off. Switch on the
scale. The display will turn on and then show “0”. The weight
of the container has been zeroed out. Add the ingredient. The
weight of the ingredient alone will be displayed. If you then
remove the bowl from the scale, the display will show a nega-
tive number. Press “TARE/ON” to reset the scale to “0”.
5.3 Add ingredients/Tare function
To weigh several different ingredients (e.g. baking ingredi-
ents) at once press “TARE/ON” to reset the display to “0”
between each ingredient.
5.4 Unit switch
Switch on the scale. Press the “UNIT” key to convert
between lb:oz (pounds and ounces) and grams (g)
5.5 Automatic switch-off
If the kitchen scale is left unused for longer than approx. 90
seconds, it automatically switches itself off. You can also
turn the scale off manually by holding down the “TARE/ON”
button for 3 seconds.
6. Care and Maintenance
WARNING:
Do not drop the scale or drop any objects on it. If •
the glass platform is damaged, there could be risk
of danger or injuries caused by broken glass.

Clean the scale with a soft dry or slightly damp, lint-free
cloth or sponge. For stains or other residue, use a mild dish-
washing soap. The scale is not waterproof, i.e. do not allow
water to enter the unit. If your scale accidentally gets wet
immediately clean off the water. Store the unit in a safe and
dry location. Only store flat and not on its side. Thoroughly
dry any moisture off the unit before storing. Store the unit
safely out of the reach of children. Remove the battery if the
scale is not to be used for a long period. Always use the unit
following the instructions provided in this manual.
7. Disposal

10. Warranty
Limited Lifetime Warranty For Original Purchaser
Your CVS/pharmacy
®
Kitchen Scale, Model KS 34, exclud-
ing the battery, is warranted to be free from defects in
materials and workmanship for the life of the product under
normal conditions of intended use and service. This war-
ranty extends only to the original retail purchaser and does
not extend to retailers or subsequent owners.
We will, at our option, repair or replace the CVS/pharmacy
®
Kitchen Scale, Model KS 34, without additional charge, for
any part or parts covered by these written warranties. No
refunds will be given. Repair or replacement is our only
responsibility and your only remedy under this written war-
ranty. If replacement parts for defective materials are not
available, the warrantor reserves the right to make product
substitutions in lieu of repair or replacement.
For warranty service contact customer service at 1-800-
536-0366 to provide a description of the problem. If the
problem is deemed to be within the scope of the limited
lifetime warranty, you will be asked to mail the product at
your costs in its original package with proof of purchase,
your name, address and phone number. If the problem is
not deemed to be within the scope of the limited lifetime
warranty, we will provide a quotation for repair respectively
replacement and return shipping fees.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse
or abuse; accident; the attachment of unauthorized acces-
sory; alteration to the product; improper installation; mis-
application; lack of reasonable care with respect to the
product; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper
use of power supply; old worn battery; normal wear; loss
of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an
operating part as a result of failure to comply with instruc-
tions for use or to provide manufacturer’s recommended
maintenance; transit damage; theft; neglect; vandalism;
or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period
the product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting
parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that
are beyond the control of the warrantor. This warranty is
void if the product is ever used in a commercial or busi-
ness environment. The maximum liability of the warrantor
under this warranty is limited to the purchase price actu-
ally paid by the customer for the product covered by the
warranty, as confirmed by proof of purchase, regardless

of the amount of any other direct or indirect damage suf-
fered by the customer.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased
and operated in the country in which the product is pur-
chased. A product that requires modifications or adaptation
to enable it to operate in any other country than the country
for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or
authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modi-
fications is not covered under this warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE
SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR LIABILITES, INCLUD-
ING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PAR-
TICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO
THE DURATION OF THIS APPLICABLE WRITTEN WAR-
RANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long
an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may
not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE WARRANTOR BE LIABLE
FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CON-
SEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR
ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR ANY
OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHATSOEVER. Some
states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special,
incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limita-
tion may not apply to you.
The warrantor does not authorize anyone, including, but
not limited to, retailers, the subsequent consumer pur-
chaser of the product from a retailer or remote purchaser,
to obligate the warrantor in any way beyond the terms set
forth herein.
This warranty does not extend to the purchase of opened,
used, repaired, repackaged and/or resealed products,
including but not limited to sale of such products on Inter-
net auction sites and/or products by surplus or bulk resell-
ers. Any and all warranties or guarantees shall immediately
cease and terminate in connection with any products or
parts thereof which are repaired, replaced, altered, or modi-
fied, without the prior explicitly written consent of the war-
rantor.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may

4. Inserción y reemplazo de la batería
ADVERTENCIA:
L • a ingestión de baterías o líquido de baterías

correspondientes. El desecho indebido puede
causar contaminación ambiental.
Retire la película protectora
de la batería. Abra con cuidado
el compartimiento de batería que
se encuentra en la parte posterior
de la unidad. Inserte o reemplace
1 batería de litio de CR2032 3 V
con la polaridad correcta. El sím-
bolo (+) de la batería debe quedar hacia arriba. Si la bás-
cula no funciona, retire la batería por completo y vuelva a
colocarla. Coloque con cuidado la tapa de las baterías.
NOTA: Retire la batería si no piensa usar la unidad durante
un periodo de tres meses o más antes de guardarla.
La báscula de cocina tiene un indicador de “batería baja”.
El símbolo aparece si es necesario cambiar pronto
la batería.
Si aparece “Lo”, ya no es posible la medición y debe reem-
plazar la batería.
5. Pesaje
ADVERTENCIA:
N• o ponga objetos muy pesados sobre la bás-
cula. La capacidad máxima es de 11 lb (5 kg).
Esto puede dañar la unidad y causar lesiones.
PRECAUCIÓN:
E• sta báscula es solo para uso del consumidor.
No está diseñada para uso comercial ni médico.
Esta unidad no es compatible con los estánda-
res requeridos para uso profesional.
U• se este producto sólo para el fin para el que
fue diseñado. No use este producto para ningún
propósito que no sea pesar alimentos.
AVISO:
Los campos electromagnéticos fuertes (por •
ejemplo, teléfonos celulares u hornos de micro-
ondas) pueden afectar la exactitud de la bás-
cula.
Ponga la báscula en una superficie dura y plana a tempe-
ratura ambiente que esté libre de vibración para asegurar
que se obtengan lecturas fiables y exactas. Para encender
la báscula, oprima “TARE/ON”. Después de comprobar
que todos los dígitos en la pantalla se activan, la báscula
muestra “0” para indicar que está lista para pesar.
NOTA: No ponga los alimentos o el tazón sobre el borde de
la plataforma de vidrio La báscula se podría volcar.
5.1 Pesaje sin tazón
Ponga el artículo sólido que se va a pesar sobre la báscula.
Su peso se muestra inmediatamente. Al agregar peso, el
peso que se muestra aumentará. No ponga alimentos en
la báscula antes de encenderla. La báscula se tara auto-
máticamente.
5.2 Pesaje con tazón
Elija un recipiente que conserve el equilibrio en la plataforma
sin volcarse ni caer. No use recipientes pesados, ya que
esto podría reducir la capacidad máxima de la báscula.
Si el peso del recipiente se va a ajustar a cero, ponga el reci-
piente en la báscula mientras ésta está apagada. Encienda
la báscula. La pantalla se encenderá y luego mostrará “0”. El
peso del recipiente se ajustó a cero. Agregue el ingrediente.
Se mostrará el peso del ingrediente solo. Si luego quita el
tazón de la báscula, la pantalla mostrará un número nega-
tivo. Oprima “TARE/ON” para restablecer la báscula a “0”.
5.3 Agregar ingredientes y función de tara
Para pesar varios ingredientes (por ejemplo, ingredientes
para un pastel) en secuencia, oprima “TARE/ON” para
ajustar la pantalla a “0” entre cada ingrediente.
5.4 Interruptor de la unidad
Encienda la báscula. Oprima la tecla “UNIT” para alternar
entre lb:oz (libras y onzas) y gramos (g)
5.5 Apagado automático
Si la báscula se deja sin usar durante más de 90 segun-
dos aproximadamente, se apaga automáticamente. Tam-
bién puede apagar la báscula manualmente al mantener el
botón “TARE/ON” oprimido durante 3 segundos.
6. Cuidado y mantenimiento
ADVERTENCIA:
No deje caer la báscula ni deje caer objetos sobre •
ella. Si la plataforma de vidrio se daña, existe el
riesgo de que el vidrio roto cause lesiones.
No ponga objetos muy pesados sobre la báscula. •
La capacidad máxima es de 11 lb (5 kg). Esto
puede dañar la unidad y causar lesiones.
PRECAUCIÓN:
N • o desarme esta unidad y no inserte los dedos
en ninguna ranura ni en el interior de la báscula.
Usted podría sufrir lesiones.
AVISO:
Proteja esta báscula de golpes fuertes (como •
dejarla caer en el piso), humedad, polvo, quími-
cos, temperaturas demasiado altas o bajas, cam-
bios drásticos de temperatura, y exposición a la

Guarde la unidad en un lugar seguro y seco. Guárdela
