Fundamental safety warnings
Danger of electric shock!
This is an electrical appliance and may cause electric shock.
You should therefore respect the following safety warnings:
• Nevertouchtheappliancewithdamphands.
• Neverusetheappliancewithbareorwetfeet.
• Neverimmersetheapplianceinwater.
• Neverunplugtheappliancebypullingthepowercable
or the appliance itself.
• If the socket and power cable plug are incompatible,

tensionsshouldnotbeused.
Tollortopupwithwater,turntheironing
systemousingtheswitch,thenunplug
from the mains.
• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustbereplacedby
themanufacturerorthemanufacturer’scustomerservi-
cesinordertoavoidallrisk.
• Beforecleaningorservicing,disconnect theappliance
byunpluggingfromthemains.
• Before using the appliance, check that the mains
supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indica-
ted on the rating plate. Connect the appliance to
an eciently earthed power supply and sockets
with a minimum current rating of 10 A only.

“Safe transport”: certain models are tted with a
locking system which locks the iron in position during
transport. When the iron is locked in position, it
must not be used as a carrying handle to transport
the appliance! Topositiontheironcorrectly,insertthe
tip of the soleplate into the housing, rest the iron on
theironrestandmovethelocktothelockingposition
(g.1).
Toreleasetheiron,movethelocktothereleaseposition
andremovetheironfromthehousing(g.2).
• Whileironing,youcanrestthetipofthesoleplateonthe
heatresistantbaseabovethehousing.
Theappliancemustbeusedandrestedon
astableheatresistantsurface.
Whenplacingtheirononitsstand,ensure
that the surface on which the stand is pla-
cedisstable.
• NEVER store the iron in a vertical position!

The appliance is not to be used if it has

Preparations for use
What water to use
The appliance works with normal tap water.
Important!
Neverusechemicalsubstancesordetergents(e.g.perfumed
water,essences,descalingsolution,etc).
Donotusemineralorothertypesofwater(suchasrainwater
orwaterforbatteriesorairconditionersetc.).
Setting water hardness
This ironing system has a resin limescale lter installed in the
waterreservoir,allowingyoutouseordinarytapwater.
Theresinsreducewaterhardness,prolongingtheworkinglife
of the appliance.
Theltermustbereplacedwhenthe light on the ap-
pliance control panel comes on. To customise the warning
accordingtothewaterused,proceedasfollows:
• check the hardness of your water using the indicator
paper Jprovided:
• dipthepaperinthewaterfor1second,
• shaketoremoveexcesswater;
• waitfor1minute;
• checktheresultinthetableanduseacointoturnthe
water hardness regulator Qto the position correspon-
ding to your water hardness:
0 - 9 °F
10 - 18 °F
19 - 36 °F
36 °F

Filling the reservoir

Makesurethepowercableisunpluggedfromthemainsso-
cket.

• Openthedoorofthewaterreservoirandll(g.3).Ne-
verexceedtheMAXlevelmarkedonthereservoir(0.7
l).
• Insertthereservoir(g.4)andpressuntilitclicksinto
place.
Danger!
Make sure the removable reservoir is rmly in place.
Ifthereservoirisnotfullyinserted,watermayleakfromthe
appliance.
• Plugtheapplianceintoamainssocket.
Please note:
Thersttimeyouusetheappliance,thesteamgeneratoris
empty.
Whenllingthesteamgeneratorforthersttime,itwilltake
longertoheatupastheairmustbeeliminatedfromtheste-
amgeneratorandreplacedbythewater.
Duringlling/heatingitisnormalforthepumptomakea
noise.
The appliance will also run out of water much more quickly
thanwithsubsequentlls.
Steam ironing
• TurntheapplianceonbyrotatingthedialRto one of the
steam positions. The sector corresponding to the steam
selectedashes.Waituntilitremainsonsteadily(steam
ready) and light Sgoes out.
• PressthesteambuttonTunder the handle to proceed.
Please note:
• Whenusedforthersttime,theappliancemaygiveo
smokeandanodourforseveralminutes.Thisiscaused
byheatingandsubsequentdryingofthesealersused
in assembling the steam generator and iron.You are
recommendedtoventilatetheroom.
• ThelightSgoes on and o during ironing according to the
temperature of the iron.
This is part of normal operation and not a cause for concern.
• Whileironing,itisnormaltohearthewaterllpumpcome
onandgoo.
Thisiscausedbytransferofwaterfromthereservoirtothe
steam generator.
Itispartofnormaloperationandisnotacauseforconcern.
• Eachtimetheironisused(includingforthersttime)orif
youhavenotusedsteamforseveralminutes,pressthesteam
deliverybuttonanumberoftimesawayfromtheironingbo-
ard.This will eliminate condensation from the steam circuit.
Adjusting the iron thermostat (U)
Turnthethermostatdialtosetthemostsuitabletemperatu-
reforthetypeoffabrictobeironed.
For steam ironing, the temperature
mustbewithinthesteamsectorshown
alongside.
Belowisabriefguidetohelpyouchoosethebesttempera-
tureforthetypeoffabrictobeironed.

Steam regulator
The steam regulator dial Renables thequantity ofsteam
tobeincreasedordecreasedaccordingtothefabricbeing
ironed.

andwatersavings.
3. Idealfortopqualityironingwithenergyandwatersa-
vings.
4. Idealfordicult-to-irongarmentsorcreases.
Whenyouturntheironon,youarerecommendedtoturn
thesteamregulatordialtothemaximumsteamposition.
Topping up the water in the reservoir
Whenthe waterruns out,the : light comes on. The
steam light goes o to indicate that the appliance can no
longer produce steam.
Whenthislightcomeson,proceedasdescribedinthesec-
tion“Fillingthereservoir”andconrmllingbypressingthe
OKbutton(O).
Dry ironing
Todryiron,turnthethermostatdialontheirontoselectthe
temperaturemostsuitable forthe garmentstobeironed,
thenironwithoutpressingthesteambutton.

Maintenance
Replacing the limescale lter
When the lightcomeson,theltermustbereplaced.
Toregeneratethelter,proceedasfollows:
• Makesuretheapplianceisturnedo,unpluggedfrom
the mains and completely cold.
• Press the reservoir release lever (C) and remove the
water reservoir.
• PlacetheleverFin the position(g.6)andremove
thelimescalelter(g.7).
• PositionthenewlterandplacetheleverF in the
position. Then reattach the tank.
• Plugtheapplianceintothemainsandturnon.
• Holdthe OKbutton(O) down for at least 5 seconds to
conrmtheeciencyofthelter.The light goes
o.
• Theapplianceisreadyforuse.
Please note:
Limescaleltersareavailablefromauthorisedcustomerser-
vices.
Rinsing the steam generator
Tooptimiseoperation,maintainconstantsteamproduction
overtimeandsaveenergy,rinsethesteamgeneratorwith
waterafterevery10ironingsessions.Proceedasfollows:
• Makesuretheapplianceisturnedo,unpluggedfrom
the mains and completely cold.
• Removethewaterreservoir.
• Turntheprotectivecap G on the side of the appliance
clockwiseandremove(g.9).
• Useacoinorscrewdrivertounscrewthesteamgenera-
torcap(g.10).
• Eliminatethewaterinthesteamgenerator(g.11);
• Resttheapplianceonitsside(g.12)andllwithama-
ximumof0.7litresofwaterusingafunneltoavoidthe
water spilling outside the steam generator.
• Shaketheappliancetorinsetheentiresteamgenerator,
then throw the water away.
• Repeattherinseprocedure.
• Screwthecapbackon,makingsureitclosesthesteam
generatoreciently.
• ReplacetheprotectivecapG.
Beforeresumingironing,dischargesteamintotheairfor
a few seconds to completely eliminate any residues from
the internal circuits.
Important!
The appliance will not function without the limescale
lter.
If the lter cannot be replaced and you want to continue
usingtheappliancewithoutanecientlimescalelter,pro-
ceed as follows:
• UseacointoturnthewaterhardnessregulatorOto po-
sition 4correspondingtoveryhardwater(irrespective
oftheresultsobtainedusingtheindicatorpaper).
• Whenthe ,lightcomeson,rinsethesteamgene-
ratorasdescribedabove.
• After rinsing, hold the OK button down for at least 5
seconds.
Cleaning
• Thesurfaceofthesoleplatemustbekeptclean.Toclean,
just wipe the cold surface with a damp cloth.
• Theironmustneverbetreatedwithdescalingproducts.
After ironing
After nishing ironing, you should put the ironing system
awaywiththedoortightlyclosedtoavoiddustandforeign
bodies falling into the reservoir and possibly jeopardising
operationofthepump.Placetheironontheironrestinthe
securedpositionandwaitforthesystemtocooldownbefo-
reputtingitaway.Toputtheapplianceawaytidily,xthe
steam/cabletubetothehookGandwindthepowercable
aroundthecabletidyI. Store the iron in a dry place.
Please note:
• Afterironing,thewaterremaininginthereservoirneed
not be drained. However, you are recommended to
drain the water if the appliance is left unused for long
periods.
Disposal
In compliance with European directive 2002/96/EC,
theappliancemustnotbedisposedofwithhousehold
waste,but takentoan authorisedwasteseparation
and recycling centre.

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The appliance does not come on. The appliance is not plugged into a mains
socket.
Make sure the appliance is correctly connected
and press the iron and steam generator ON
buttons.
Steamleaksfromthereservoir. The maximum pressure safety system has
tripped.
Turn the appliance o immediately and con-
tactthemanufacturer’scustomerservices.
Waterleaksfromtheholesinthebottomof
the soleplate.
Waterhascondensedinsidethetubesbecause
steamisbeingusedforthersttime,orhas
notbeenusedforsometime.
Press the steam button several times away
fromtheironingboard.Thiswilleliminatecold
water from the steam circuit.
The ironing system is positioned on an unsta-
bleand/orslopingsurface.
Theironmustbeusedandrestedonastable
surface.
Browncoloureduidleaksfromthe
soleplate.
Chemical water softeners or additives have
beenpouredintothewaterreservoirorsteam
generator.
Neverpourproducts into the waterreservoir
(see our tips in the quick guide). Clean the
soleplate with a damp cloth.
Thersttimetheapplianceisturnedon,you
notice smoke
Some parts have been treated with sealer/
lubricantwhichevaporatesthe rst time the
iron heats up.
This is normal and will stop when you have
used the iron a few times.
The appliance emits an intermittent noise
associatedwithvibrations.
Waterisbeingpumpedintothesteamgene-
rator.
This is completely normal.
The appliance emits a continuous noise
associatedwithvibrations.
