Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed. These instructions should be
saved for future reference:
• Read and familiarise yourself with all operating instructions
before using this carving knife.
• Before plugging your unit into the mains, visually check that
the unit is intact and has not suered any transit damage.
• Do not use this carving knife with an extension cable.
• Check that the voltage indicated on the data plate
corresponds with that of the local network before connecting
the appliance to the mains power supply.
• Close supervision is required when using this appliance near
children.
• Never leave this appliance within reach of children. Keep the
appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
• This appliance shall not be used by children.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Children less than 3 years should be kept away unless
continously supervised.
• Do not immerse the appliance or its cord in water or any
other liquids.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst connected to
the mains supply.
• Always use this appliance on a solid, level, non-ammable
surface.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• It is imperative to unplug the power cord after the appliance
has been used, before it is cleaned and whilst being repaired.
• Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed

by a qualied electrician. Improper repairs may place user at
serious risk.
• Do not operate this appliance with a damaged plug or cord,
after a malfunction or after being dropped or damaged in any
way.
• Regular, periodic checks should be carried out on the power
cord to ensure no damage is evident. Should there be any
signs of damage the appliance should not be used.
• If the power cord is damaged, it should only be replaced by
the manufacturer or a suitable qualied after-sales-service in
order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp edges or
come in contact with hot surfaces.
• Allow the unit to cool before storage.
• Always disconnect the carving knife from the supply if it is left
unattended and before assembling, disassembling or
cleaning.
• This appliance is intended for household use only and should
not be used for industrial purposes.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this
appliance other than those supplied or recommended by the
supplier.
• Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended
use.
• Do not push objects into any openings as damage to the
appliance and/or electric shock may occur.
• Switch o the appliance and disconnect from the supply
before changing accessories or approaching parts that move
in use.
• Grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not touch the blades whilst the carving knife is connected
to the mains.
• Wash the blades in warm soapy water, rinse and dry
thoroughly.
• CAUTION: the blades on this carving knife are very
sharp; extreme caution should be taken when cleaning.

Before rst use
• Remove all the packaging (retain the blade protective cover)
• Wash the blades in warm soapy water, rinse and dry
thoroughly.
• Retain the packaging for storage of your electric knife.

Using your electric carving knife
Warning: Do not plug into the mains supply before the
blades are inserted. Do not use with wet hands.
Inserting the blades
1. When holding the blades, make sure that the palm of your
hand is on the dull side of the blades and your ngers are
away from the sharp
edges.
2. Place both blades
parallel to each
other with the metal pin
facing in. Holding the
blade grips (2) lock the
blades together.

3. Grip both blades together at the blade grip (2) and glide into
the the housing unit.
4. Test the blades are secure by gently pulling in the reverse
direction as if you are trying to remove the blades. To avoid
injury it is recommended to have the blade protection
cover in place while doing this.
5. The electric carving knife is now ready to use.
Operating the carving knife
1. To use the carving knife, press the button (4) with your
thumb.
2. To cut food, simply guide the blades through the food. It is
not nessary to move the knife back and forth as the double
cutting action of the two blades will slice slice through food
quickly and easily.
3. To stop cutting, release your thumb from the button (4),
the carving knife will automatically stop.
Note: This carving knife is not suitable for cutting through bones
as this will dull the blade.
Do not continously operate the carving for too long as the motor
may over heat. Let the knife rest for 30 seconds after 1 minute of
use.

Removing the blades
1. Unplug the the carving knife.
2. By pressing the eject button (3), the blades will automatically
be released from the housing unit.

CONNECTED TO THE MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE REMOVING
OR REPLACING THE BLADES.

1. Detach the blades from the housing unit.
2. To clean the outer surface of the housing unit, use a soft
damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
3. To clean the blades, wash the blades in warm soapy water,
rinse and dry thoroughly.
To store the carving knife:
• Unplug from the mains supply, clean as instructed.
• Allow the carving knife to dry thoroughly.
• Place the the blade protective cover over the blades and
place back in the box. Store away from children.

Electrical Connections
This appliance is tted with a fused three-pin plug to BS 1363.
If the plug has to be removed, it should be cut o and carefully
disposed of immediately. To avoid a possible shock hazard, do
not insert the discarded plug into a mains socket.
Fitting a new plug
If for any reason you need to t a new plug, the exible mains
lead must be connected as shown below. The wires in the mains
lead tted to this appliance are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
If colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance do not
correspond with the coloured marking identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured Black. The
wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter L or coloured Red. Before retting
the plug cover check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire
inside the plug. Use a 3 Amp BS 1362 fuse, only BSI or ASTA
approved fuses should be used. If you are in any way unsure
which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualied electrician.
