however sometimes some parts of the screen may be missing picture elements or have luminous
spots. This is not a sign of a malfunction.
Cleaning the screen and the cabinet...
After turning off the power, clean the screen and the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. We recommend
that you do not use any proprietary polishes or solvents on the screen or cabinet as this may cause
damage.
Disposal...
The cold cathode fluorescent lamp in the LCD panel contains a small amount of mercury, when the
set reaches the end of its useful life please dispose of it in accordance with Local Government
Regulations or at a recycling centre.

They are designed to familiarise you with the unit’s many new features and to ensure you get the
very best out of your purchase.

•Clean the TV Screen using a slightly damp cloth or chamois leather. Never use abrasive
cleaning agents like liquid or aerosol cleaners.
•Remove the mains plug from the socket outlet while cleaning.
•Never apply pressure on the screen when cleaning.
•Never put your screen on hard objects. Your TFT screen may be damaged.
•If you wish to place the television on a shelf or in a wall unit always ensure there is a
minimum air gap of 10 cm around the top, sides and rear of the television, to assist
ventilation.
•Your TV set is designed to operate with mains voltages 230V AC; 50Hz. Do not connect
your TV set to power sources other than the mains supply.
•If you don't use the television for a long period, please remove the mains plug from wall
socket outlet.
•To fully disconnect the TV, the mains plug is used as a disconnecting device and therefore
shall be readily operable.
Safety instructions
Read all the safety instructions before first use of your TV.

•Position the television so that direct light does not fall on the screen. Excessive light
will cause a washed out effect.
•Position the power supply lead and other leads so that they are not likely to be walked
on or pinched by things placed on or against them.
•Do not place objects filled with liquid such as vase or flower pot near the television.
• Do not expose the TV to dripping or splashing of liquids.
•Do not place naked flame sources such as lighted candles on the TV set.
•Make sure that no naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, are placed on top
of the appliance.
•Do not place the television near heat sources such as radiators, ovens, stoves, etc.
•The heat built up in the set escapes through ventilation holes, so do not cover the set
by drapes, clothes etc. that may block air circulation. Do not place the television on
carpet or soft furnishings.
•Never let children push anything into the holes or slots on the case.
• Do not push, hit or screw the screen of your product.

Please Note: When not in use disconnect the
plug from the mains power supply.
3. Press the ()button on the front
of the TV. The standby indicator
will illuminate.
4. Press a Numeric button or the ()
or ()button on the remote handset
or (PR+), (PR-) or (MENU) button
on the front panel to switch the TV
on.
The standby indicator remains on.
The picture will appear after a few
seconds.
Press the ()button to switch the TV
to standby. The standby indicator will
brighten.
Please Note: Do not leave the television in
standby unattended or overnight.
Switching the TV on for the first time
To install your TV, please read the sections
“TV controls” and “ Tuning the television”.
The batteries
Remove the back cover to reveal the battery
compartment and make sure you insert the batteries
the right way round.
Suitable battery types for this remote are
UM-4, IEC R03 or AAA 1.5V.
Do not throw your old batteries into a fire, dispose
of them in a designated disposal area.
Do not combine a used, old battery with a new
one or mix battery types.
The performance of the remote control will
deteriorate beyond a distance of 8 metres or
outside an angle of 30 degrees from the centre
of the TV.
Getting started
Remove your Television carefully from the box.
You may wish to store the packaging for future
use.
In the box
Inside the carton box you should have:

Read these instructions before use.
Note: Scart, VGA and RCA leads are not
supplied.
Aerial connection
To connect an aerial, plug the aerial lead into
the aerial socket on the rear of the TV.
You can use an outdoor or indoor aerial.
However, if you use an indoor aerial the quality
of the reception may be reduced and adjustment
of the aerial may be required when changing
programs.
Please note: If you live in a poor reception
area or use an indoor aerial you may experience
loss or corruption of teletext transmissions.

Temporary On-Off (STAND-BY)
When you press the red ( ) button
(temporary on-off function) located on
the upper right hand side of your remote
control of your television when it is
switched on; the sound and picture will
go off. In the stand-by function, the
power indicator of your television will
glow more. To switch your television back on,
either press the same button, any of the number
buttons or one of the ( )/( ) buttons
Caution!
If you are not going to use your television
for a long period of time, make sure to
switch it off from the main power button.
Programme selection
Press the ( )/( ) buttons on your remote
control, or by selecting a numeric button
in order to get the desired channel on
your television. In order to select a
program whose number is greater than
9, you can use the numeric buttons,
punching in the desired numbers as
required. For example, to select program
12, press the numeric buttons 1 and 2
one after another.
Volume
Press the Volume+ or Volume- button on
the TV or the ()or ( ) button on the
remote control. A sound level bar will
appear on the screen.
Temporary sound mute (MUTE)
To temporarily mute the sound of your
television, press the ( ) button, where
the on screen display will appear on
screen as an indication of the application.
When you press the same button again,
the sound will return. During mute, when you
press the ( ) button the volume will decrease
and if you press the ( ) button the volume will
increase and automatically get out of the mute
function.

Using the TV
Turning on for the first time and Tuning
TV controls
PR 12 PR 13...
If you would like to return to the program
you are watching while in any program
by clicking one key, click the ( ) key.
"Z 1" (The sign of the program that is
watched) shall appear on the top right
corner of the screen.
When you click the ( ) key while you are in any
program or in AV, the selected program directly
appears. When you click the same key again, it
switches to the final program you watched or to
the AV. You can cancel SWAP by clicking the
()key.

Tuning and storing the programs on
your television
You can either tune the programs automatically
or manually storing them in your television. As
a result of your television’s Automatic Tuning
System (ATS), the programs found are
automatically ordered in accordance to the Turkish
channels that send their title and teletext
information, followed by those programs that do
not provide teletext title information and those
without the teletext features. Finally, foreign
programs that send their teletext title information
lined up.
Please note: In the event that your television
does not receive a signal for 5 minutes, then it
will automatically switch to the stand-by mode.
This will be indicated on screen during the last
minute before switching to the stand-by mode.
AV
Your television has 1 (“the second one
depends on the special features
of your television”) SCART socket.
The AV function is used when you are connecting
an external source to your TV via the SCART
sockets or RCA sockets. Every time you press the
()button, your default settings will change
according to the socket connection below.
1. AV1 when using SCART socket 1 (with RGB
support)2. AV2 when using the RCA socket “when
TV has only 1 scart” AV2 when using
SCART socket 2 “when TV has 2 scart
sockets”
3. AVS when using S-Video socket “when TV
has only 1 scart” AV3 when using RCA socket
“when TV has 2 scart sockets”
4. AVS when using S-Video socket “when TV has
2 scart sockets” You can return to TV mode by
pressing AV button again.
Control Menu
Press the ()button and the MAIN MENU
all the headings of the different controls
will appear. The Up-Down buttons
()/( ) enable you to move between
the different control menu functions where
you can indicate your choice by pressing
the ()button.
A. Automatic tuning and storing of the
television program channels
By pressing the ( ) button of your remote
control, you will gain access to the
program settings menu on your television
screen.

After pressing the right movement button
()and highlighting the AUTO
PROGRAM option, press the ()button.
Following this selection the
“REGIONAL/COUNTRY SELECTION”
menu will appear on screen. Using the
direction buttons on your remote control,
highlight and select the country option and press
the ()button. The AUTO PROGRAM setup
menu should appear on screen and after pressing
the ()button once more, the program channels
should be tuned and stored in sequence startin with
the first one. At this point an AUTO PROGRAM
function bar displaying the status of the application.

After the application is complete, the
PROGRAMME TABLE will then appear on
screen. To stop the process at any given
time, press the ()button. The program
numbers that have been stored are reflected
in the PROGRAMME TABLE, giving you
the ability to assign any program number
to the channel of your choice.
Fine tuning to any of the channels that have been
stored can be applied in accordance to the
process described in the “FINE TUNING” section.
Those channels that have too much frequency
noise (particularly in regions where the TV
transmitters are dense), can be deleted from the
PROGRAMME TABLE as necessary.
B. Manual tuning and storing of the
television channels: If you already
know the Channel number:
Press the ( ) button on your remote
control and using the ( ) button select
the SETUP MENU. Press ( ) button then
using the ( ) button highlight the
manual install bar in blue and by
pressing the ( ) button, or the right
movement ( ) button you will have access
to this particular menu.
When the “MANUAL TUNING” menu appears
on screen, highlight the CHANNEL bar, selecting
the programs by pressing ()for the “S” band
in locating cable channels and the “C” band for
those channels received by regular antenna.
Using the numbering buttons of your remote
control, you can apply the channel numbers
accordingly. If the program found on screen is
acceptable in quality, then in order to store the
application you first use the upward movement
button ()to highlight the PROGRAMME.
Then you write down the number that
you wish to assign to the channel by
using the number buttons on your remote
control. By using the right-left movement
buttons ()/( ) you also have the option
to choose the number.
With the downward movement button
()highlight the STORE option and
then after pressing the ()button you
will see the “STORED” on screen display
on screen confirming the transaction.
The program will be recorded to the
number of your choice and you can also
store the other channels in the same way.
In the event that you wish to exit the
MANUAL TUNING menu, simply press
the ( ) button.

By pressing the ( ) button on your remote
control, the PROGRAMME CHANNEL
SETUP menu will come up on screen.
The channel setup indicator will be blue
in color. When you press the ()button
of your remote control or press the right
movement button, you will enter the
menu. By pressing the down movement
button ()of your remote control, you
will highlight the MANUAL SEARCH
option then to be applied by pressing
the ()button. When the MANUAL
SEARCH option comes up on screen,
highlight the SEARCH option and search
the channel numbers using the ()/( )
buttons. When you come across a
channel that is broadcasting a program,
then the program will be visually
available for your viewing. When the
program viewed on screen is at the
required quality, then to store the
programmed channel, first the upward
movement button is pressed ()while
If you do not know the Channel
number: Manual Fine Tuning
If the channel found, needs additional fine tuning
then by using the down button ()in the
MANUAL TUNING menu, highlight the FINE
TUNING option.
Using the left-right movement ( )/( )
buttons on your remote control you will
have the ability to get the exact quality
of tuning required. Under normal
circumstances, you will not need to use
the Fine Tuning function. The AFC values
of your television will automatically adjust
and lock themselves to the channel.
However, in the event that the TV transmitters do
not work, then you may need to use this process.
The method of storing the applications above is
the same process as all other tuning applications.
Please note: Your television has been designed
to receive cable broadcasting.
In the event that you wish to exit the Channel
tuning menu, simply press the ( ) button.

the above process. In the event that you wish to
exit the MANUAL TUNING menu, simply press
the ()button.

Switching the locations of the program
channels that have already been stored:
Your television has the capability of
switching and changing the stored
numbers of the programmed channels
manually or automatically. For this
application all you need to do is press
the ()button ofyour remote control, upon
which you will go into the Program
Channel Setup menu and press the ()
button, bringing the PROGRAM TABLE
on screen.
Using the up-down or left-right movement
buttons ()/( ), ( )/( ) indicate the
programs you wish to exchange with others,
pressing the “Green” ( ) colored button in the
process. The first channel program number
indicated can be moved to the second channel
program number, which in turn moves the initial
channel program number that has been indicated.
To name the programs
You can name any or all of the programs
with names that have a maximum of 5
characters. Using the up-down or right-left
buttons ()/( ), ( )/( ) choose the
program that you would like to name and
then press the “Yellow” ( ) button. Using
the up-down button - ()/( ) you can
choose the number or sign that you want.
To move onto the second character of the
name, use the right-left movement ()/( )
and again with the up-down movement
buttons ()/( ) assign the program
the letter, number or sign of your choice.
Once you have completed all the characters,
by pressing the “Yellow” ( ) button you
can store the name you have just written.
To write names for any of the other
programs, simply repeat the above procedure. In
the event that you wish to exit the application at any
given stage, simply press the ()button.
Skipping a program that has been
stored:
Choose the program that is to be deleted,
using the up-down or right-left
()/( ), ( )/( ) buttons.
Press the “Blue” ( ) colored button. The
program indicated is then deleted and
all remaining channels are moved to the
prior number accordingly.
In the event that you do not wish to come
across certain programs while going up
and down between channels using the
()/( ) buttons, then you can use the
following function. Choose the program
that is supposed to be hidden using the
up-down, left-right buttons of the remote
control ()/( ), ( )/( ).
The program that is to be skipped will
be indicated in the color red. You have
the option of applying this method on
more than one program channel. In
order to see the program numbers that
are to be skipped, write down the number
of the concealed program directly.
In order to cancel the program skipping
mode, press the “Red” ( ) colored button
again, where the program number will
turn white and the skipping mode will
be cancelled.

Setting up the Sound Menu
You can control the sound settings of
your television by using the ()and ( )
buttons on your remote control or the
(), ( ) buttons directly on your
television.
To set up other features of the sound
menu, you can do so by going into the
SOUND menu, which can be accessed
through the ()button on your remote
control. By highlighting the SOUND
menu bar in blue, press the ()button
and the SOUND menu will appear on
screen. Using the up-down movement
buttons ()/( ) you can choose the
features that you require.
Balance
Sound type
In order to balance the level of sound
between the right and left speaker of the
television, use the down movement button
()to highlight the BALANCE mode
in white and by using the right left buttons
()/( ), you can get the balance
necessary.
Your television has the ability to receive Analog
Stereo (A2) transmission. If the program you are
viewing is available in stereo, then this will be
indicated with the STEREO on screen display on
screen. Institutions that broadcast in the stereo
mode also have the capability to broadcast in
two different languages. In those type of programs,
you have the ability to listen to one of those
languages in the mono mode from both of the
speakers of your television. This can be applied
using the right-left movement buttons ()/( )
changing the on screen on screen display from
DUAL I to DUAL II.
Spatial Effect
If you wish to give further “depth” to the sound
of the program you are watching, switch to the
“Spatial Effect” within your Sound Mode.
AVL (Automatic Volume Limiting)
Television transmitters have different sound levels.
This can be noticed from the different volume
levels that can be heard while switching from one
program to another. Using the right-left movement
()/( ) buttons turn your AVL function “ON”. The
AVL (Automatic Volume Limiting) function maintains
the same sound level as you switch from program
to program.
The most recent volume levels used will be stored.

Headphone
By connecting the headphone unit to your
television you can listen to the program
sounds independently from your television.
In order to increase and decrease the
sound level of the headphones, enter the
HEADPHONES menu and by highlighting
the SOUND line make the necessary
adjustments using the right-left movement
()/( ) buttons. If you only want to use
the headphones as then you only have
to press the ()button.
If the transmission is in two languages or in stereo,
use the SOUND TYPE function.
Please note: The sound and headphone
adjustments made will be stored without any
additional transactions necessary.
Equalizer
By highlighting the equalizer on screen
display, press the ()button bringing
the equalizer setting function on screen.
Using the up-down movement ()/( )
buttons you choose between a series of
preset settings for different types of sound
output such as Music, Sports, Cinema
and Speech. Also you have the Personal
1 and Personal 2 option settings which
are to be adjusted in accordance to your
preferences. By highlighting the Personal
preferences, press (). Then by using
the right-left movement ()/( ) buttons
choose from the 120Hz / 500 Hz /
1,5KHz / 5KHz / 10 KHz frequencies
and with the up-down movement ()/( )
buttons, adjust the levels according to your
preferences. To store the frequency levels, press
the ()button and then your preferences will be
stored in the memory of your television.
In the event that you wish to exit the application
at any given stage, simply press the ()button.
You can choose the equalizer modes directly
from the ()button of your remote control.

In order to cancel the Child Lock option, the mode
can be switched OFF from the SPECIAL FEATURES
menu in the process described above.
Picture Set up
By pressing the MENU button on your remote
control, you can enter the PICTURE menu. Using
the up-down movement ()/( ) buttons you
can indicate your choice in feature and with the
right–left movement ()/( ) buttons you can adjust
the levels as necessary.
The picture brightness, contrast, color and
sharpness levels can all be adjusted according
to your desire.
Furthermore, non-adjustable default settings in
the memory categorized as Weak – Strong -
Natural can also be used by pressing the ()
button on your remote control directly gaining
access without having to enter the picture menu.
The changes you make in the picture
settings will be automatically stored
without any further transactions necessary
being your Personal settings. In the event
that you wish to exit the application at
any given stage, simply press the ()
button.
TINT: When the NTSC video is
connected from the SCART, you can
adjust the TINT picture mode of your
screen. If you do not connect this type
of video, then the TINT option of the
PICTURE menu can be adjusted however
the picture mode will not be affected or
changed.
SPECIAL FEATURES
By pressing the ( ) button on your remote
control, the MAIN MENU will appear
on screen. After highlighting the SPECIAL
FEATURES option in blue, you can press
the ()button to enter into this menu.
Child Lock:
The Child Lock option enables you to
switch off access to a certain program
and prevent it from being watched. You
have the option of canceling this function
at any given time. In order to enable
the Child Lock function, go into the
“SPECIAL FEATURES” menu after selecting the
program of your choice.
Using the down movement ()button, highlight
the Child Lock option and turn it ON or OFF as
needed.
By pressing the ()button you will exit the menu
and see the “LOCKED“ on screen display on
screen.

PROGRAMME NO
You can insert the program number of
the channel that your television will
automatically open, or shift to using the
right-left movement ()/( ) buttons.
TIME SELECT ON
Highlight the time select ON mode and
by pushing the ( ) button, use the
numeric buttons of your remote control
to insert the time that you want your
television to switch on. If you television is in Stand-
By mode at this time, then it will automatically
switch on, if it is already on then it will switch to
the channel program indicated. In this way you
can preset the times of the programs you wish to
follow and have your television switch to them at
their starting time automatically.
TIME SELECT OFF
Highlight the time select OFF mode and
by pushing the ( ) button, use the
numeric buttons of our remote control to
insert the time that you want your television
to switch off. During the last minute
before your television is programmed to
switch off, the on screen display indicating
that there is one minute remaining will appear.
In the event that you wish to exit the application
at any given stage, simply press the ( ) button.
Please note: If you turn your television off from
the main power supply switch then the sleep timer
modes selected will be reset and cancelled.
Picture Format
By pressing the ( ) button on your
remote control, you have the ability to
change the picture format of the screen.
If you leave the screen format function
on AUTO then the program that you are viewing
will be shown in either 4:3 or 16:9 format
depending on the transmission broadcast of the
station.
Please note: Some cinema channels
automatically transmit in the 16:9 format, upon
which the on screen display of AUTO 16:9 will
appear.
If the 16:9 format is indicated in the setup menu
of your satellite receiver, DVD player connected
to the SCART socket, then the screen format will
automatically switch to the 16:9 mode.
The information below is for the 16:9 screen
format; LETTER-BOX You can use this format while
watching certain clips and movies or a broadcast
transmission provided in the Pal-Plus format.
SUBTITLE In a broadcast transmission of a LETTER
–BOX format, this function enable the subtitles of
the movie to be included on screen.
(Auto, Letter-box, Subtitle features are available
only for wide models).

Language
Highlight the LANGUAGE mode in white
and press the ()button, enabling you
access to the LANGUAGE menu.
Using the up-down and left-right movement
()/( ), ( )/( ) buttons, indicate the
language of your choice, once again
pressing the ()button.
All the function modes of your television
will be displayed in the language that
you have indicated. In the event that
you wish to exit the application at any
given stage, simply press the ()button.
TIME
Using the numeric buttons on your remote control,
enter the time. The time that is stored here will
be used as the basis in all activities based within
the TIMER mode.
Please Note: The time will be reset when you
turn off your television, but will adjust itself to the
time of any channel with Teletext once you open
up your television again, getting the necessary
information from the transmission.
SLEEP TIMER Mode
Highlight the SLEEP TIMER option and press (),
which will bring the SLEEP TIMER menu on screen.
With this function, you will have the ability to
automatically turn your television on or off at the

Using Teletext
Teletext is an information system that displays
text on your TV screen. Using the teletext control
buttons you can view pages of information that
are listed in the teletext index.
Please Note: No on screen display is available
in text mode. The contrast, brightness and colour
cannot be changed but the volume control is still
available.
To enter Text mode
Please Note: Make sure the TV channel you
are watching transmits teletext. If not NO TEXT
sign will be shown on the screen.
Press the ( ) button. The text page will
appear, normally the index page.
To exit Text mode
Press the ( ) button. The will screen
will return to the channel you were
watching.
To select a page of text
Find the number of the page in the index
and enter it using the Numeric buttons.
The number of the page will appear in
the top left hand corner of the screen.
The page counter will search for your
page. When it finds it, the page will be
displayed.
To move to the next page of text press
the ()button.
To move to the previous page press the
()button.
To return to the index page press the
()button.
TV/text mix
To view a TV programme whilst in text
mode, press the ()button. The text
will be superimposed over the TV
programme.
Press the ()button again to return to
the text page.
Page search whilst watching TV
In Text mode press the ( ) button. The
TV will return to TV mode with the text
page number in the top left hand corner
of the screen.
Enter the page number you want using
the Numeric buttons.
The top line of the text page will appear
whilst the text searches for your page.
When the page is found the number
will remain in the top left hand corner
of the screen.
Press the ()button to view your
selected page of text.
Double height text
If you have difficulty reading the
text on the TV you can double the height
of the text.
Press the ()button. The top half of the
page will be displayed in double height
text.
Press the ()button again. The bottom
half of the page will be displayed in
double height text.
Press the ()button again to return to
the full page in normal text.

Page Stop
If the page of text you have selected
contains sub pages, these sub pages
will automatically be displayed in order
with a delay to allow you to read the
page.
To stop the move to the next sub page
press the ()button. STOP will appear
in the top left hand corner.
To continue moving through the sub
pages press the ()button again.
To select a sub page
If the page of text you are viewing
contains sub pages, the number of the
sub page you are on and the total
number of sub pages is displayed on
the right of the screen i.e. 1/7.
To select a sub page press the ()
button. Press the green button to select
next sub-page or press the red button
to select the previous sub-page.
Enter the number of the sub page, using
the Numeric buttons in the format S0001
for sub page 1.
The teletext will search for the sub page.
This may take some time. To return to
the TV whilst the teletext is searching
press the ()button.
When the page number is found it will
appear in the top left hand corner of
the screen.
Press the ()button again to view the
text page.
To reveal information
Press the ( ) button to reveal concealed
information (quiz answers etc.).
Press the ()button again to conceal
the information again.
Clock
Press the ( ) button, whilst watching a
TV program, to display the time.
Fast text
At the bottom of the teletext screen is a row of
subject headings in red, green yellow and blue.
The remote control has a row of coloured buttons
corresponding to the row of coloured subjects
on the screen.
Pressing one of the coloured buttons will take
you directly to the page corresponding to the
subject heading.
Teletext characters are decoded according to the
languages of the countries chosen before Auto
program. For correct decoding and showing of
the teletext characters, the auto-program should
be carried out by selecting the country that will
be watched of the teletext broadcasting from
the pop up menu for the Country selection before
auto program.

Connecting external
equipment
You can connect a wide range of audio and
video equipment to your TV.
Connecting a video recorder
Via SCART
Make sure the TV and video recorder are both
switched off.
Plug one end of the SCART lead (not supplied)
into the back of the video recorder and the other
end into one of the SCART sockets on the back
of the TV.
Switch on the video recorder and the TV.
Press the ( ) button on the remote
control to select AV1 or AV2 to
correspond with the SCART socket
you are using on the back of the TV.
Please note: You can connect RGB external
equipment via Scart. It is necessary to you use
a full Scart cable for this purpose.
Select the video output of the external device
by using its menu, and set to RGB.
Via RCA lead (optional)
Make sure the TV and video recorder are both
switched off.
Plug one end of the RCA lead into the video and
audio out sockets on the back of the video
recorder and plug the other end into the video
and audio in sockets of the TV.
If the sound is mono, use the Audio Input L. and
in the SOUND menu select the MONO feature.
