1. COMMENTS
This paper is the additional service manual for the
DP-42SM/WM/GM using the NEC panel.
Other service contents with the exception of this
manual are same as the existing service manual
(DP-42SM/WM/GM). The existing service manual
was made for ORION panel.

2. Safety Precautions
(1) When moving orlaying down aPDP Set,atleasttwo people mustbeworking.
Avoid any impacttowards the PDP Set.
(2)Donot leavethebrokenPDPSetonfor a longtime.Toprevent any further
damages,after checkthebrokenSet'scondition, makesuretoturnthe power
(AC)off.
(3) When opening the BACKCOVER,turn off the power(AC)topreventelectric
shock.When aPDP is on,highvoltage and highcurrentexistinside theSet.
(4) When loosening screws,check the connecting position and type of the
screw. Sort out thescrewsandstorethemseparately. Because screwsholding
PCBareworkingaselectric circuit GROUNDING, makesuretocheck if any
screw ismissing when assembling.
(5) Ifyouopenthe BACKCOVER,you will see a Panel GasExhaustTube.Ifthis
part isdamaged, entirePDPPANEL must bereplaced. Therefore,when working,
be carefulnotto damage this part.
(6)A PDP Set contains different kindof connectorcables. Whenconnectingor
disconnecting connectorcables,check the direction and positionofthecable
beforehand.
(7) When disconnecting connectors,unplug the connectorsslowlywith care.
Especiallywhen connecting/disconnecting FFC (film)cablesorFPCcables,do
notunplug the connectors too muchinstantaneously orstrongly,and always
handlethecableswith care.
(8) Connectors are designed so that ifthenumberofpins orthedirection does
not match,connectors will not fit.When having probleminplugging the
connectors,make sure tocheck theirkind,position,and direction.
