EMERGENCY SWITCH OF 16A SOCKET
DAEWOO generators with 16A sockets are equipped with an emergency socket switch 11 (fig. 2).
When the generator is running with a load connected to this outlet, the emergency switch must be in
the ON position.
In the event of a short circuit protection trip, the emergency switch will automatically switch to the
OFF position and stop the load on this outlet. This means that the power plant is overloaded or the
consumer connected to this outlet is faulty. At the same time, consumers connected to other outlets
will continue to work and the generator will not turn o.
Immediately disconnect the consumer from the 16A socket and check its serviceability.
USING THE GENERATOR IN ATS MODE
The DAEWOO automation unit is an automatic power plant control system for organizing backup power
supply to consumers of electrical energy when the main power source is o. The automation unit is
designed to work together with DAEWOO power plants that have the option of automatic operation and
a connector for connecting the unit placed on the front panel.
Power plants that do not have this option cannot be used to work with an automation unit.
Structurally, the automation unit is made in a metal case with a possible wall mounting. The connection
to the power plant is made using a special control cable (included) and a power wire. The connection
of the power output of the power plant, the power input of the electrical network and the reserved
consumers of electrical energy is carried out using screw terminals located inside the unit.
ATS OPERATION IN AUTO MODE
1. Connect the automation unit to the power plant and the main power supply network.
2. Connect the line of redundant consumers.
3. Move the mode switch to the «automatic» position.
4. If there is voltage from the main power source, the system goes into standby mode, the power supply
of the redundant consumers comes from the main power source.
5. In case of voltage drop at the main power source, the system starts the engine of the power plant
according to the above algorithm and switches the power supply of the redundant consumers to the
power plant.
FEATURES OF GAS GENERATOR OPERATION (FIG. 6)

RECOMMENDED OILS, DEPENDING ON AMBIENT TEMPERATURE (FIG. 9)
AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE (FIG. 10)
Regular maintenance of the air filter will help maintain sucient airflow in the carburetor.
• Check the air filter from time to time for contamination.
• Release the clips on the top cover of the air filter .
• Remove sponge filter element from housing.
• Wipe the dirt inside the empty air filter housing.
• Wash the sponge filter element in warm water . Dry it DO NOT TWIST.
• Moisten the dry filter element with clean engine oil . Squeeze out excess oil DO NOT TWIST.
• Replace the air filter with a new one every 50 hours of generator operation.
SPARK PLUG MAINTENANCE (FIG. 11)
The spark plug is an important device for the proper operation of the engine. A good spark plug should
be intact, free of carbon and have the correct gap .
For checking the spark plug, do the following:
• Remove the spark plug cap .
• Remove the spark plug using a spark plug wrench.
• Inspect the spark plug. If it is cracked, then it must be replaced. It is recommended to use F6RTC
spark plugs, such as NGK BPR6ES.
• Measure the clearance. It should be 0.7-0.8 mm.
• When reusing the spark plug, clean it with a wire brush to remove carbon deposits and then set
the correct gap.
• Screw the spark plug into place using the spark plug wrench. Put back the spark plug cap.
GENERATOR STORAGE
The storage area must be dry and dust-free. The device should be stored out of the reach of children.
Possible malfunctions on the device must be completely eliminated before the machine is put into
storage, so that it is always in a state of readiness for operation.
When storing the generator for a long time, the following conditions must be observed:
• All external parts of the motor and device, especially the cooling fins, must be thoroughly cleaned.
• Loosen the carburetor float chamber screw and empty it.
• Unscrew the oil drain screw and drain the oil into a container.
• Remove the spark plug.
• Pour a teaspoon (5-10 ml) of engine oil into the cylinder.
• Pull the starter cord several times to spread the oil over the cylinder walls.
• Screw in the spark plug.
• Pull the starter handle until resistance is felt, which will bring the piston to the top of the
compression stroke. Both intake and exhaust valves will be closed. Storing the generator in this
condition will protect it from internal engine corrosion.
• Slowly release the starter handle.
• After a few failed attempts of electric starting, the batteries can be discharged, so the batteries
must be fully charged before operating the generator.
