installing and/or servicing.
Power
Supply Cord
The power cord supplied with this air
conditioner
contains
a
device that
senses
damage to the power
cord. To test if your power supply cord is
working
properly, you must
do the
following;
1. Connect the power supply cord to an electrical
outlet.
2. The power supply cord is
inclusive
of two
buttons
located on the head of the
plug. One button is
marked ‘TEST’, the other button is marked ‘RESET’.
Press
the ‘TEST’ button, you will
hear
a
click
as the
‘RESET’ button
pops
out.
3. Press the ‘RESET’ button, you will hear a click
as
the button engages.
4. The power supply
cord
is now energized and
supplying electricity to the air conditioner. (On
some
products this
is
also indicated
by
a light on the plug
head).

Important
Safety Instructions
The
power cord supplied with this
air conditioner
contains a current leakage detection
device
designed
to reduce the risk of fire.
Please refer

the section “Power
Supply Cord” for details.
In the
event
the power supply cord is damaged,
it cannot
be repaired it must be replaced with
a new cord
from the Product Manufacturer.
• Under no circumstances should
this device
be
used to turn the air conditioner
on or off.
• The
‘RESET’ button must always be
pushed in
(engaged) for
correct operation.
• The power supply
cord must
be replaced if
it fails
to
reset when the ‘TEST’
button is pushed in.
• If the power supply
cord is damaged,
it cannot
be
repaired.
It
must be replaced with
a new cord
obtained from
the Product

Tips
You Danby appliance

in energy
savings.
Follow these
recommendations
for greater
efficiency.
1)
Select
a
thermostat
setting that suits
your
comfort
needs and
leave at that
chosen setting.
2)
The air filter is very
efficient in removing
airborne
particles. Keep the
air filter clean
at all times.
3)
Use
drapes, curtains or
shades to
keep direct
sunlight
from penetrating
and heating
room,
but
do
not
allow
drapes or
curtains to
obstruct the air
flow around
the unit.

The exhaust/window
kit must

installed at all times

unit
is operating
under
AIR
CONDITIONING
mode.

Start your air conditioner
before the
outdoor
air
becomes hot and
uncomfortable.
This
avoids
an
initial period
of discomfort
while the unit
is cooling
off the room.
Use
of the automatic
start/stop
programmable
TIMER
feature
can be a major
asset
in this regard if utilized
to the
fullest
extent.
5)
When outdoor
temperatures
are cool enough,
turn the
air conditioner off
and use the
FAN
MODE
on
HIGH,
MED or LOW.
This circulates
indoor air, providing
some
cooling comfort
and
utilizes
less
electricity.
There
should be at
least 11.8”
(30
cm) clearance
between
the unit and any other
objects
or building structure and
should be installed
on
a
level surface.
The
unit
does
not
have
to be vented outside
during
Dehumidifying/Fan
mode operation,
it is recommended
however that the
hoses remain
installed (on unit)
during Dehumidification.

External
Water Tank Feature:
This unit is equipped with
an external water tank
which sits
on a support tray and is easily
attached to
the
rear side of
the unit
with
the use of the two
support hangers
(see
pg.
12).
Align
the
two
supports brackets on the external water tank
with
the support hangers on the rear side of the
unit
and
push down firmly. We recommend the external water
tank be connected to the main unit at all times
during both air conditioning and dehumidifying
modes.
It is possible to operate the unit utilizing the
internal
water
reservoir only. However,
running
timeloperation maybe reduced during high
humidity conditions as (excess) condensed
water accumulates in the internal reservoir
only.
Alternatively, when the external water
tank is
attached, (excess) condensed water is directed
first into the internal reservoir
and once full, will
then be pumped into the external tank, this
results in
longer (uninterrupted) running times.
External Water Tank Instructions:
1. Align the holes in the
water tank
support tray
(A) with the
screws (B) located at the rear
lower
section
of the unit, push down firmly
to lock
the tray into position. See
.

2.
Position the
external water tank, making
sure the
inlet on the water tank is aligned
with water outlet
at the back of the
cabinet. See Fig 36.

3. To make the connection, simply
push the water
tank down firmly onto
the support hangers
on the
back of the
cabinet and the water tank
support tray.
IMPORTANT:
Once
external
water
tank
is
installed,
ensure that the
support
brackets located
on the
water
tank
are
flush with the back of the unit, then secure
the
tank in place with the locking mechanism (Fig. 37)
located above the
water
outlet. Please note: When
the
tank
is
installed,
the
lock and unlock symbols will
be
hidden
- Pull
the lock lever to
the
far
right in order
to lock
the tank into postion, and push the
lever
to the far left to
unlock the tank (in order to remove it).
4. Install both covers on the water tank.
5.
To release (disconnect) the external water
tank,
firstly unlock the tank (see above) and grasp the
recessed
handles
located on
each
side, pull
up
and remove.
Internal
Safety
Feature
This unit is equipped with
a
fail-safe switch
mechanism which
prevents the unit from condensing
water
in the
event the external tank is not being
utilized and the internal reservoir
becomes full. If this
situation
occurs, the unit will signal (BEEP) for
20
seconds, and the (RED) WATER FULL
indicator light
will flash. This condition
will
remain
steady until the
external
water tank is re-installed (connected)
to the
unit, at which time the secondary pump will
activate
and pump the water from the internal
reservoir to the
external tank allowing normal operation
to resume.
IMPORTANT: If
the red water full indicator
on the
control panel lights
up and remains steady
does not
flash, ensure the external
water tank is connected
(and empty), then
proceed to turn off the power
to the
unit
and temporarily disconnect the power
cord. After
several
seconds reconnect the power cord, switch
to
air conditioning
mode and turn the power to
the unit
back on, this will pump any excess water
out of the
internal system into the external tank allowing
normal
operating
conditions to continue.

CAUTION
• Always empty the external water tank before
attempting
to move or re-locate the unit to another
location.
• In order to avoid spillage when emptying the external
water tank, remove cover
“A”
(as identified in
fig. 36)
and carefully tilt the uncovered portion of the external
tank towards
the sink.

Cooling
Operation:
During air conditioning mode
condensed
water
accumulates in
a pre-cooler drip tray located
underneath
the
evaporator
(cooling) coil. When the
water level reaches
a
predetermined level,
the water
flow is directed into
a
small (well) holding tank
located
at the bottom of
the
unit.
When the water
level in the well begins to fill, a water pump
is
automatically activated
that pumps
the water
up to
the
condenser coil and is subsequently cascaded
across
the fins of the condenser coil.
This showering action is very efficient in terms
of;
1) Keeping the condenser coil cool during operation.
2) Provides maximum
cooling efficiency.
As the
water
cascades
across the heated fins of the
condenser coil, it is
evaporated. This process
minimizes accumulated water from being
stored,
which results in longer running times and less
frequent emptying
of
the water tanks.
This process is continuous during air conditioning
mode
only.
NOTE: If
the
external bucket
is
fiQI
installed - During
high
humidity conditions, if the rate of water being
condensed
exceeds the
rate
of
water
being
evaporated, the water level inside the internal
reservoir will activate a float switch mechanism
(safety shut-off), causing the unit to stop/cease
operation automatically. In
this event,
• the red “water full” indicator light on the control
panel will begin to flash
• and a
warning
beep will sound.
Installing
the
external water tank during this
condition will activate
a
secondary
pump that will
drain
the
water
from the
internal
reservoir to the
external
bucket, allowing the water level in the
internal
reservoir to return to normal and allows the
unit to resume operation. When
the water level
inside the external tank reaches
it’s maximum level,
• the red “water full” indicator light
on the control
panel will
begin to flash,
• the
bucket icon will illuminate in the display
area
• and a warning
beep
will
sound.
The unit will
stop/cease
operation
automatically and
the external tank will
have to be emptied. The fan
motor will continue to operate. (this
is normal)

Operating Instructions
(Air Conditioning):
NOTE: Both exhaust
hoses must be installed and
properly vented (outdoors) during air
conditioning
mode.
1) Press the I/O (on/off) key
pad to switch on the
unit. Fig D.
2) Press the MODE key until the COOL
symbol
appears in the display window Fig

advance to a
different mode setting (Auto-Cool-Dry-Fan).

The
set temperature will flash in

NOTE: The

the 5 second (temperature
flashing)
condition. To view the
“set” temperature
any time,
press either of the TEMP/TIMER

The blue indicator light
will come on indicating
the

operational
(there may be
a slight delay

10-30

begins, this
is
normal).

The AUTO-TIMER feature
offers a unique selection
of multiple choice,

The programs are
as
follows:
a) Auto -Off: Pre-select a time that will turn
off the
unit (automatically)
at a specified time (between

unit allows you to control all
operational
aspects
of your Portable
3 Season Home
Comfort Appliance from the convenience of
your
favorite armchair. Here are some things you should
know about operating the
unit
with the
hand
held
remote.
Control Buttons
110: Power switch (On/Off).
Mode: Selects the operating mode (Auto/Cool/Dry-
Dehumidifier/Fan).
Note “Auto” mode is
a
pre-set factory mode inclusive
of a set operating temperature of 24C (75F). Under
AUTO mode the unit will alternate between

aimed directly at the infra-red
eye located below
control panel when initiating
a
command.
When
the remote control
is switched on and a button is
pressed, a beep will sound (main unit) confirming
a
signal
was
sent/received.

in the display of the main
unit when both units are
operational. If the main unit
does not respond to
the command issued, try the procedure
again.

again fails to respond;
Check the following:
• Are the receiver
