Installation Instructions
The
CET
B-RF
is
a battery powered cylinder thermostat which
measurescylinder temperature usinga strap-on temperaturnsensor
fitted tothe cylinder wall andwired tothe thermostat which is
normanylocated adjacent to the cylinder. To avoid the need for
wiring, communication between the thermostat and the boiler or zone
valve isachieved using secure
RF
wireless communication.
A
receiver unit, type RX-1 is mountedadjacent to the boiler or the
control valve and responds to commands issued by the wireless
thermostat.

The
produd should installed by a competent person. lnstallation
must be in accordancewith
the
current edition
of
the IEEE wiring
regulations.
2.
The
clamponsensor should be mountedonto the cylinder wal at a
height equivalentto
%
the heightof the cylinder. Care should be
taken to removeany insulationmaterial from the cylinder and to
ensurethat the copper surface of the cylinder isclean. See diagram
opposite for details.
3.
Beforeattaching the sensor to the cylinder usingthe strap provided.
a 2-corecable should be connected lo the sensor to allow mtercon-
nection to the thermostat setting unit.
4.
Apply the contact paste provided to the part of
the
sensor in contact
with the cylinder and clamp the sensor to the cylinder wall.A spacer
pieceis providedfor use with cylinders having thick insulation.
5.
Mount the wallplateof the thermostat selting unit
on
loa wall
adjitcen(to the cylinder and connect the cable from the sensor to
terminals

secondsthe 'Learn" buttonwhich can befound beneaththe
settingknob. This forces the thermostat to transmit its unique
identityfor up to five minutes. Do not at this stage replace the
setling knob.
4.
Move to the RX receiver and pressand hold CH1 and PROG
button untilgreenLEDflashes.
5.
The thermostat seltingdial may now be replacedand the controls
tested inthe normalway to ensure lhat boiler, pump and
associatedcontrolvalve@)operate inthe correct sequence.
6.
Havingtested fhe conbds, the thermostat should be set to the
requiredtemperature, this can be readdirectly from the LCD
display as
