Further installation instructions:
Power supply
The power supply specified here should be available near the site:
• Single phase voltage: 230V
• Frequency: 50 - 60 Hz
• Current: 4.5 A
Space requirement
The floor space must correspond to the space requirements for the scheduled use of the machine. Also take into
account the space required for feeding or discharging the material and the dimensions of the images and plates to
be processed. Prepare a level surface according to the dimensions of the machine, taking into account the acces-
sory equipment.
Lighting
Good lighting (indicative 300 - 600 lux) is essential to operate and maintain the machine safely.
Space properties
The machine must be installed in a closed room and protected from the weather. Permissible room temperature:
18°C to 35°C. Corresponding permissible humidity range: 30% to 80%.
Power connection
Check that the power connection corresponds to the machine power. Before each connection to the mains, the
grounding must be secured.
Connect the machine to the mains:
• Connect the connection cable to a suitable plug or directly to the power distribution system. (capsule rail,
junction box, etc.).
Acceptance / Test
Before the actual commissioning, run a few tests of the various functions of the device.

Safety devices
The machine is equipped with the following safety devices:
• Right cover housing
• Left cover housing
• Safety system (slip clutch of the rollers)
When operating the machine, make sure that hands do not stuck between the rollers.
The EXPERT 80C is equipped with a safety system in which a slipping clutch stops the roller movement. This can
prevent serious injury. When operating the laminator make sure that no body parts or objects get between the rollers.
We assumes no liability - especially in the case of structural or electrical modifications to these devices made by
the operator.
The side panels which protect the electrical equipment may only be removed by qualified technicians or specialists
authorised by manufacturer.
The switch keyboard
The machine is controlled next to the foot pedal via the following keypad:
• Switches On or Off of the axis, which rolls
up the protective liner.
• Starts or stops the laminating process.
• Turns the laminator on or off
Autogrip material pick-up
Push the material axis into the core of the roll to be mounted material roll. Thanks to the autogrip material holder,
the material axis can be easily be pushed into the roll core. As soon as the machine starts up, the autogrip function
in the core blocks and the roller rotates with the axis.

Operation of the machine
EASYLAM EXPERT 80C is supplied as a table-top unit without stand. In the start-up phase the operator
stands in front of the machine. The machine is switched on via the main switch. With the start/stop switch
starts the laminating process. Alternatively you can use the foot pedal to continuously adjust the speed.
General information
The material axles are equipped with adjustable slipping clutches/brakes. Each material has own cha-
racteristics, which vary according to temperature, humidity, adhesive used, type of film, etc. The ideal
working condition is that in which the material on the upper roller is stretched and applied with minimal
braking without wrinkles. The search for this „Ideal setting“ begins by looking for the point where the brake
unit only works lightly in order to then, if necessary, to become gradually stronger. Take care not to stretch
the film too much, to prevent it from being initially stretched and then warping the laminated product.
If the protective liner is to be rolled up, it is sufficient if it is slightly tightened. Therefore make sure that the
roll-up clutch is carefully adjusted.
Assembly lever:
The lever on the right side must be screwed on before commissioning.
Connect power supply and pedal: as shown.

OPERATION
Operating personnel
The machine may only be operated by qualified personnel.
Material guide
The material axis can carry laminate with silicone paper as well as double-sided adhesive film. To insert the rolls,
refer to the illustrations and proceed as follows:
Mounting the material axis
The axes have different mounts on the laminator.
The material axis with the red dot must be inserted on the left first.

Special knive for the optimal
equipment of our laminator
with laminating films.
There are different ways to equip our laminators
with laminate.
For easy and economical handling we recommend our
EASYLAM-CUTTER. Item no.: 24959
This knife has a special blade. The risk of injury or damage to the roller
of the laminator roller is significantly reduced.
The advantages of the EASYLAM-CUTTER:
- You save time and material by clamping the laminate including carrier material (liner).
- No exposed knife tip.
The following description of the working method enables economical use of laminate when the laminator is
fitted with film.
The preparation of the machine is simplified and can therefore be learned more quickly.
EASYLAM-CUTTER
Procedure - EASYLAM-CUTTER
You can obtain this tool from specialist dealers or at www.dataplot.de.
Lay the laminate lm incl. the
liner between the rollers
Hold the inserted laminate in place
tightly and close the rollers
Wrap the laminate back tightly onto the
laminate roll
This knife is included with your device.

Behind the rollers of the laminator
should protrude approx 5 cm
Start laminating
Fasten the liner to the
the core to wind up
Also use the blade in front
Carefully separate the liner
Position the blade of the
EASYLAM-CUTTERs between
lm and liner

Working method I: protect a print with laminate
1. Open the laminating rollers with the lever on the right side (lever
backwards)
2. Place the laminate with the axis in the axis holder no. 09.
(see page 3) as described on page 5.
3. Place the second axis, equipped with an empty core, in the axle
holder no. 10 (see page 3)
4. Pull the laminate including the liner between the open rollers.
5. Close the rollers with the lever (pull the lever forward).
6. Separate the liner from the laminate and fix it in place with tape
on the cardboard core. Make sure that the liner is attached evenly
and without oblique folds. If required repeat the steps until the
material is correctly positioned. With the adjustment of the brake
(no. 05) and the slipping clutch (No. 02) the pull of the axis can
be adjusted. Please refer to the enclosed special knife description.
The simplified functionality is described on pages 6 and 7 of this
manual explained using the example of an EASYLAM 160W.
7. Switch on the liner drive. See switching keyboard page 4.
8. Apply the pressure from the front between the rollers
10. At the beginning of laminating, make sure that the laminate freed from the liner does not stick on the rollers
or housing parts. As soon as you see your print under the laminate at the back, this danger no longer exists.
9. Use the „Start“ switch or the pedal to start the laminating process.

Working method II: laminating weeded vinyl plot with APP film
2. Open the laminating rollers with the lever on the right side (lever to the rear).
3. Pull the APP film between the rollers. Make sure that the APP film rests smoothly and tightly on the top
laminating roller.
4. Close the rollers with the lever. (Pull the lever forward).
5. Place the weeded vinyl plot between the rollers from the front.
6. Use the „Start“ switch or the foot pedal to start the laminating process.
7. Make sure that the APP-film does not stick to the rollers or housing parts at the beginning of the laminating
process.
1. Place the material axis with the APP film in the axis holder no. 11 (see page 3). The APP roll lies on the top
laminating roller.
