10 LITRE FRYING PAN Important Safeguards
When using any electrical appliance, especially when children are
present, basic precautions should always be followed, especially the
following: -
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND KEEP
THEM HANDY FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
•Always operate this electrical appliance from a power source of
the same voltage as indicated on the identification plate.
•This electrical appliance is not intended for use by young children
or infirm persons without supervision.
•Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with this electrical appliance.
•Always “unplug the electrical appliance” immediately after use.
•Under no circumstances should this electrical appliance be placed
immersed in water or other liquid.
•Do not use this electrical appliance with wet or moist hands.
•If this electrical appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately.
Do not reach into the water.
•Do not operate this electrical appliance with a damaged cord or
plug.
•Do not operate this electrical appliance if it is not working properly,
if it has been damaged, dropped or dropped into water or any
other liquid.
•This electrical appliance must only be used for its intended use as
indicated in the instruction manual. This electrical appliance is

•Do not use the frying pan under overhead cabinets. The steam
emitted from the steam vent may cause damage to the cabinets
•Always follow cleaning and usage instructions.
•The frying pan must be cleaned after each use.

with hot oil.
•Do not attempt to move the frying pan during cooking.
•Ensure that this appliance is completely dry before adding oil.
•Do not throw foods into oil; gradually dip the foods slowly to avoid
splattering of oil.
•Do not attempt to empty or pour out the oil while the appliance and
oil are hot.
•Do not touch hot surfaces.
•Do not use power cord and control with any other appliance.
Before First Use
•Rinse the frying pan and lid with water and dry.
•Season the cooking surface by applying a thin coat of oil to the
base and sides.
•Gently rub it in with paper towel.
•Turn the control on full and allow the pan to run for 6 to 7
minutes.
NB If you are not planning on cooking anything, turn off the control
and unplug it from the pan.

Operating Instructions
•Ensure that the frying pan is on a safe, dry and level surface.
•When cooking, we recommend the use of non-metallic utensils
to prolong the lift of the non-stick surface.
•Never cut food in the frying pan.
•Insert the control into the side of the unit and turn it on.
•Select desired temperature setting and allow the pan to heat up.
WARNING: To prevent the risk of personal injury or property
damage, use with caution when cooking with HOT oil.
Care and Cleaning
•Before cleaning, unplug from the socket.
•When cleaning the frying pan, never use a metal pad or souring
powder.
•Simply wash in warm soapy water.
•Do not immerse the frying pan in water.
Roasting Times
Always brown your meat before roasting or grilling steaks. This locks in
the juices. Always brown and seal on high heat.
Chicken: After browning, allow for 35 minutes per 500grams
Lamb: After browning, allow for 35 minutes per 500grams
Pork: After browning, allow for 40 minutes per 500grams
Beef: After browning, allow for 45 minutes per 500grams
Browning:
The amount of cooking oil used should depend on the fat content of the
meat being used. Steaks should be browned / sealed for 1 minute
each side on high, with the lid off. After sealing continue cooking with
the lid on until the steaks are cooked to your liking.
Recipes
Cooking Pasta
On the high setting bring up to 6 cups of cold water to the boil, add a
tablespoon of oil to the water to stop the pasta from sticking together,
then add 1 cup of pasta for about 10 minutes (follow instructions on
the pasta packing). If the water boils too rapidly, reduce the heat.
Cooking Rice
As with pasta, bring 6 cups of water to the boil, add one cup of rice for
approx 10 minutes, then drain the water. Raw rice should be rinsed
thoroughly to remove excess starch.
Main Courses
Lemon Chicken
2 tablespoons oil
4 chicken Maryland pieces
1 teaspoon finely grated green ginger
2 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 cup chicken stock
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon dry sherry
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 tablespoon water
finely grated rind and juice of ½ lemon
1. Heat oil in frying pan on high setting and brown chicken on all sides
with the ginger and garlic. Reduce heat to simmer.
2. Combine chicken stock, soy sauce, sugar, sherry, lemon rind and
lemon juice. Add to the frying pan. Cover and allow to simmer until
chicken is tender.

3. Combine cornflour and water. Add to the chicken, stirring until the
sauce boils and thickens. Simmer for a further 5 minutes. Serve with
steamed rice.
Stir Fry Beef
(serves 6)
2 tablespoons oil
500g topside steak, cut into thin strips
2 onions, peeled and cut into thin wedges
2 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 teaspoon finely grated green ginger
1 green capsicum, seeds removed, cut into thin strips
1 red capsicum, seeds removed, cut into thin strips
1 celery stalk, cut into thin diagonal strips
1 beef stock cube blended with 1 tablespoon hot water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornflour, blended with 2 tablespoons cold water
2 shallots, sliced into 2cm pieces
¼ cup toasted almonds
1. Heat oil in frying pan on high setting. Add meat and brown. Set
aside.
2. Reduce heat slightly. Add onions, garlic & ginger, sauté until tender.
3. Add capsicum and celery, sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add brown sugar,
beef stock and soy sauce and bring to the boil. Stir through combined
cornflour and water until mixture boils and thickens.
4. Return the meat to the frying pan. Add shallots and cook uncovered
for 5-10 minutes.
5. Serve with steamed rice.
Weiner Schnitzel
(serves 4)
4-6 (approx 750g) thinly cut veal steaks
freshly ground pepper
juice of 1 lemon
plain flour
3 eggs, lightly beaten
dry breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoons oil
1. Pound out veal steak with meat mallet or rolling pin.
2. Sprinkle a little pepper over one side of each steak. Sprinkle the
other side with lemon juice.
3. Coat veal steaks lightly in flour. Dip into eggs and then into
breadcrumbs, pressing breadcrumbs on firmly. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
4. Heat oil with butter or margarine in the frying pan on high setting.
Cook veal quickly on both sides until golden brown. Drain on
absorbent paper. Serve with a wedge of lemon.
