5. GRINDING TIPS
Coarse grind
The coarse grind is generally used for infusion coffee makers.
Medium grind
The medium grind is used for drip coffee makers and steam espresso machines.
Fine grind
A fine grind is used for electric pump espresso machines.
Vary the grind times to suit your taste and the type of grain you are grinding.
For the freshest and tastiest coffee, grind just enough for what you are brewing. Coffee beans keep
for up to 2 months in the freezer in an airtight container and can be ground while still frozen. The
ground coffee left in your grinder can turn rancid and affect the flavor of the freshly ground coffee.
Be sure to clean the grinding chamber, blades, and cover after each use.
This grinder can only grind dry and brittle food. It won't grind anything wet, extremely hard, or gummy,
like whole ginger, chocolate, sesame seeds, or oily spices like cinnamon, cloves, or nutmeg. It does
not grind peanuts or grains like wheat, rice, barley, or dried corn. Attempting to grind any of these
foods can damage the unit. Never use it to crush ice cubes.
Freshly ground peppercorns have a strong aroma and flavor that can affect the taste of the ground
coffee beans later. You may want to purchase a separate grinder if you plan to grind peppercorns.
