Introduction
The Mini Smart Plug is a high quality wireless smart device which can be used to switch lights and electrical appliances
(up to 3120W) on/off automatically and remotely via the app. You can also keep track of the electricity your are using.
Connection
The Mini Smart Plug requires a working 2.4GHz WiFi connection to operate.
Download the Smart Life app on your device, available free on both iPhone and Android.
Register an account using your email address and follow the on-screen instructions.
Then to add a device, follow on-screen instructions within the app, as also shown
below:

1. Tap ‘Add Device’ or hit the ‘+’ icon in
the top right of the screen. In the menu
that appears down the left-hand side,
choose ‘Electrical’, then ‘Socket (Wi-Fi)’.
2. Enter your Wi-Fi details, ensuring no typos.
The above screen will now appear. Insert
the plug into a live socket and wait for the
light to turn or flash blue. Press Next.
3. Press and hold the button for approx 5 secs
until you hear a click, then release. The light
should start flashing blue. Press Next.
4. Confirm the light is blinking and press Next..
5. The blue light should flash approx twice per
second. If so, choose the ‘Blink Quickly’ option
that appears.
If not, see troubleshooting below.
6. The ‘Adding Device’ countdown will appear
and your connection should be complete
within 2 minutes.
8. You will see the confirmation screen after
successful connection. Name your Smart Plug
and click Done.

You can navigate to further settings and
features from here.

After Connection, you can start using your device. It is strongly suggested to familiarise yourself with the wider app.
The ‘edit’ symbol in the top right allows you to customise your device, including naming, sharing and smart connections.
The Defender Smart Plug can be linked to your home’s Alexa or Google Assistant system. see Third Party Control in ‘edit’ for
details and setup instructions. These are third party services and are under control of the app and service provider.

Most issues can be resolved by resetting the Smart Plug, which is done by pressing and holding the button until a click
and the light begins flashing.
•NOTE this device can only connect via 2.5GHz Wi-Fi. 5GHz connection is not supported.
• Within this section you can also edit your notification settings, set offline alerts and share your device with other app users.
• You can connect an unlimited amount of smart plugs to your device.
Operation
Within the app you have three options for operation, as described below.
When the plug is active, the blue LED light indicator will illuminate.

Countdown
Switch the plug on/off manually by clicking the button in the app.
Pre-set the plug to turn on/off at certain times.
You can set a repeat schedule, receive notifications and add notes.
Note: if using this feature to turn appliances on and off at set times, remember
to set a corresponding timer for the plug to turn off.
Choose a certain timeframe for your plug to change from whatever it’s current
status is e.g. if your plug is ‘On’, the plug will turn ‘Off’ after countdown.
Instantly view your electricity usage (KWh) of this particular plug.
You can break this down by day, month and year and view trends.
Clear your power data. This will reset the Electric section as above.
