The Dell UltraSharp 1909W delivers significant reduction in active power consumption compared to the
previous generation UltraSharp 1908WFP, in addition to its compelling LCD widescreen display performance
and outstanding functionality and connectivity. It also supports remote asset management when used with
Dell’s Client Manager, Dell’s solution for effective and efficient asset-management and tracking of multiple PCs
& Monitors within a network.
Using 2 Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFLs) instead of 4 in the display head backlighting, the 1909W
consumes an average of 25W (typical), compared to 32W (typical) for its predecessor the UltraSharp
1908WFP. That’s a remarkable 21% reduction in average power consumption1, and together with reduced
halogen content in the electronics, can translate to dollar savings and reduced impact to the environment over
the entire product lifetime.
In addition, when connected to a PC deployed in a network managed by Dell’s Client Manager, it supports
remote access to its EDID information (like model name, serial number, year of manufacture, status, etc.),
remote control of power-off, brightness and contrast, and remote restore of various factory default settings.
The panel pixel response time of 5ms (typical), brightness of 300cd/m2(typical), contrast ratio of 1000:1
(typical) and color gamut of 83%2ensure crisp sharp images with excellent detail, vivid clarity and lifelike
colors, even with fast-motion video and complex moving-graphics. The 1440x900 widescreen resolution
presents more space to work in and enables side-by-side display of more than one application onscreen, and
in addition helps reduce the need to scroll left/right and up/down to see the full picture.
