BLADE INSTALLATION:
NOTE: Always unplug th pow r cord of th Hot Knif CR™b for
installing or r moving th blad s. Allow suffici nt cooling tim for
blad s, blad hold rs and mounting cr ws b for handling.
S raigh Blade:
1. Loos n th scr ws on th blad hold rs with th wr nch.
2. Slid th blad und r th squar pr ssur plat s until snug.
3. S cur ly tight n scr ws to assur th prop r l ctrical conn ction. Do
not ov r-tight n.
4. Onc th blad is firmly in plac , plug your Hot Knif CR™Unit into a
standard 120 volt pow r supply.
5. Th t mp ratur control knob has 16 click s tting stops that corr -
spond to th graduat d ridg s on th surfac . Th small r th ridg
th low r th pow r s tting.

Opera ion:
Put your t mp ratur control knob at th midrang s tting, plac th blad
against th dg of th foam and d pr ss trigg r. Optimum cutting should b
virtually smok fr .
NOTE: For the best results, practice on scrap pieces of foam.
Wh n cutting foam it is b st to k p th t mp ratur and sp d consist nt.
If smok d v lops during th cut, you ar cutting too slow or th blad is
too hot which could r sult in an ov rsiz d, un v n cut. This can b r m di d by low ring th t mp ratur
and int rmitt ntly r l asing th trigg r during your cut. As th cutting r sistanc incr as s, d pr ss th trig-
g r again. Your Hot Knif CR™will r ach th s t t mp ratur within s conds. You can accomplish your cut
with minimal smok by using this proc ss. Cutting in this mann r will also prolong th lif of th knif .

Th s l ct d cutting blad should not b long r than 3/4” past th thickn ss of your foam board. Th foam
cools th blad as it cuts. Th xpos d portion can ov rh at and caus your blad to warp.
Guidelines and Cau ions:
• Consult foam manufactur r’s MSLS sh t for flash points and toxicity of mat rial you will b cutting.
• Always op rat th Hot Knif CR™in w ll v ntilat d spac
• N v r burn off xc ss r sidu on th hot knif blad . Th blad s will ov rh at, warping th blad and
pot ntially ov rh ating th Hot Knif CR™.
• Only op rat Hot Knif CR™wh n it is in contact with th insulation board.
• K p hot blad s away from skin, clothing and oth r flammabl mat rials.
• Allow blad s to cool b for handling. A hot blad may caus injury or burns to xpos d surfac s.
