•Enjoyany2-channel source instunning5.1-channelsurroundplayback.
TheDolby’s newly developedProLogic IIdecoderreproduces dynamic 5.1-channelsurroundsound fromany2-channelsource: DVD,VHS,satelliteand
television broadcasts, radio, and CDs. Dolby Pro Logic II uses matrix decoding technology that has been dramatically improved over Pro Logic.
With Pro LogicII, forinstance, theSurround (Rear)channels are in stereo(only monowith ProLogic) andplayback covers thefullfrequency range (only up
to7 kHzwith ProLogic). Theseimprovements letyou enjoya widevariety of2-channel sourceswiththeexcitingeffectsof5.1-channelsurroundsound.
AutoDecode
Whenyouinsert adisc,the convenient AutoDecodefunction automatically detectsthesound format(DolbyDigital,
DTS,ormusicCD) and startsplayingthedisc. It alsodetectsdigitalbroadcastsatellite (DBS) signals,sothat
whenyouarereceiving a 5.1-channelbroadcast,forinstance, you willautomaticallyhearitin
fullsurroundsound. WithAutoDecode, you canjustenjoy the programsandnot
worry about making manual settings of your own.

The DHT-700DV also automatically plays back discs
encoded with MP3 music files, that you or others have
recordedontoCD-RorCD-RW.
On-screenDisplay
The DHT-700DV lets you make system settings via
displays on your TV screen from the comfort of your
chair. The settings are also simpler to adjust thanks
to the DHT-700DV's new Quick Set-up feature that
lets you set the system to either 5.1-channel or
2-channel playback, which then automatically sets
the sound space settings accordingly. Of course, you
can at any time fine-tune the settings on-screen to
more closely match your particular listening space.
Inthis case, making the settings from your chair has
the added advantage of listening to the effects
whileyou adjustthesettings.
SuperSubAliasFilter
•HighResolutionPicture.
The video decoder uses a Super Sub Alias Filter that
extends the video band into the high range while also
suppressing noise from outside this band. This results
in high picture quality playback with enhanced
horizontalresolutionandgreaterdetail.
AutoFunctionButton
When you stop a DVD movie or music program in the
middle and have even turned off the DHT-700DV's
power (leaving it in standby mode), pressing the
Auto Function button on the remote controller lets
you continue the program in the same playback
modefrom where itwasstopped.
PersonalMemoryPlus
The DHT-700DV’s Personal Memory Plus function
allows you to store the parameter of the surround
mode for further sound source customization. A single
push of any source button will instantly recall the
settingsstoredforeachofthesoundsources.

A/VSystem
The DHT-700DV is equipped with the Virtual Surround
mode that lets you enjoy the spacious sound effects of
Dolby Digital through two stereo speakers if you are
not able to install all the speakers required for true
5.1-channel playback. Denon uses a proprietary digital
processing system to recreate surround sound from
justthe twofront channels. Virtual Surround alsogives
you superior sound effects with optimum sound stage
whenyouuseheadphonesinsteadofthespeakers.

Display
The half-mirror feature of the DHT-700DV's front

enhancing the DHT-700DV's aesthetic appeal in your
room. The number and text information appears on
the surface of the mirror in dot matrix clarity, making
itmucheasiertoread.

audio terminals to connect a video player, television,
