HDMI cable
Using a high qualityHDMIcable*, connect one end to the HDMI
port labeled "eARC" or "ARC" on yourTV. Connect the other
end to the HDMI OUT TV port on your AVR.
What is ARC and eARC?
Audio Return Channel or "ARC" sends audio back to the AVR
using the same HDMIcable that sends video from your AVR
to your TV. This allows your AVR to process the sound from
your TV's built-in tuner and apps. TVs with an Enhanced Audio
Return Channel or "eARC" port provide additional support for
high bitrate multichannel audio (DolbyAtmos, DolbyTrueHD,
DTS-HD and DTS:X). Please refer to your TV owner'smanual for
details abouteARC support for your particular model.
* For 4K TVs, we recommend using an HDMI cable labeled
"High Speed" and "with Ethernet" .
* For BK TVs, we recommend using an HDMI cable labeled
"Ultra High Speed".

Verify that you can seethis screen on your TV.
Ifthis screen is not displayed, please go backand retry the
steps again in the recommended sequence.
• In case the unitwas alreadysetup back in time theSetup
Assistant won't startautomatically and you onlysee the
Denon logo on screen. In such case you can access the Setup
Assistant by pressing SETUP on the remote control and
selecting SetupAssistant from the menu.

Assistant
The TV is now connected to the AVR.
The SetupAssistantwill walk you through connecting and
configuring your speakers and components to your Denon
AVR. Use the remote control and follow the instructions
on the TV screen to complete the AVR settings using the
SetupAssistant.

firmware and features.

Download both the "HEOS" app and the "Denon AVR Remote"
app for the full home entertainmentexperience. The HEOS app
is required to access online music through your AVR.

Dolby Atmos
Feel every dimension in Dolby Atmos. Upgrade your
home theater with a 5.1.2 speaker setup to unleash a fully
immersive 3D audio experience from Dolby Atmos content.
Dolby Surround upmixer engages all speakers to create 3D
audio sensation from legacy content. Dolby Atmos Height
Virtualization Technology creates the sensation of overhead
sound even without a 5.1.2 system.
You can also enjoy Dolby Atmos music tracks available from
Apple Music, Amazon HD, and TIDAL and a compatible

DTS:X
DTS:X immersive audio content places sound where it would

eARC provides HD and 3D audio transmission such as Dolby

Airplay 2 and Apple Siri Voice Control
Use AirPlay 2 to stream Apple music wirelessly to the AV
receiver, or group with other AirPlay compatible speakers
to fill your home with music.
Works with Amazon Alexa
Control your AV receiver hands- free with Amazon Alexa and
your voice. Adjust the volume, skip to the next track, switch
inputs for your different media players, and more—“Just Ask.”
Download the free HEOS Home Entertainment Skill to enable
Amazon Alexa voice commands. Requires Alexa app and
Amazon Echo, Dot, or equivalent. Availability of features varies
by region.
High-resolution audio support
Enjoy superb audio fidelity with your favorite high- resolution
audio tracks. The supported formats are ALAC, FLAC, and
WAV at up to 192kHz/24bit. It is also compatible with 2.8/5.6-
MHz DSD files. Play HD audio tracks from a USB drive or other
connected drives over network or from Amazon Music HD
with subscription. Conventional MP3 and WMA files are also
supported.
Bluetooth audio transmitter
Pair your favorite Bluetooth headphones with your AV receiver
to continue listening to your favorite music, movies, or TV
programs at night. You can also play audio from both speakers
and Bluetooth headphones simultaneously. If you have a family
member or a friend who is hearing impaired, we recommend
this setup. You can connect one pair of headphones at a time.
Multi-source, multi-room
By connecting a pair of speakers in a second room to the AV
receiver, it’s possible to enjoy 5.1-channel surround sound in
the main room and a separate source or music stream in the
second room, such as den or patio. You can also play the same
audio in both so that everyone in your home can enjoy and
cheer your favorite team on Sunday evening or listen to the
same song in both rooms. The AV receiver supports 2-source,
2-zone audio.
Denon Setup Assistant
Award-winning guide Denon Setup Assistant supplies simple,
clear instructions to get started. Just connect your AV receiver
to your TV and follow the instructions on the TV screen to
connect your speakers, perform speaker measurements, and
connect source devices. For additional convenience, the AV
receiver renames HDMI inputs automatically when connected
or you can rename manually at your convenience.
Audyssey suite of room- correction technology
Denon AV receivers use the Audyssey suite of EQ software
for simple, accurate setup and calibration. With the supplied
Audyssey measuring microphone, Audyssey measures all
the speakers in your home theater, and tunes the AV receiver
to provide the smoothest, most optimal overall listening
experience for your room. This AV receiver supports Audyssey
MultEQ room-correction technology. The other supported
Audyssey features are Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.
Audyssey MultEQ Editor app
You can go even further with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app,
going “under the hood” to view and adjust settings for detailed
tuning—allowing you to customize the sound more precisely to
the specific problems in your room and tailor the sound to your
personal preferences. With this comprehensive app, you can
harness the power of Audyssey MultEQ to take total control
of the way your home cinema sounds. The app is available for
purchase in iOS and Google Play stores.
Denon AVR Remote app
This iOS or Android control app allows you to control your AV
receiver, such as changing inputs, sound modes, volume, store
and retrieve Quick Selects, show AVR status, input and output
signal information, change optional settings and so on. Once
HEOS music is selected, the AVR remote app automatically
switches to the HEOS app for seamless operation between
two apps.
Works with Google Assistant
Start music in the HEOS app, then ask your Google Assistant
to control volume, play, pause, skip tracks, mute, and unmute.
Josh.ai
Josh.ai offers flexible voice control for nearly any aspect of
your day-to-day experience and entertainment environment.
Use voice commands to control the thermostat, lights, home
appliances, speakers, AV receiver, and more. Josh.ai is installed
by custom integrators and accessed through an app on your
phone or tablet. Works with iOS and Android devices.
