1. General Information
1.1. Designated use
1.1.1. Intended purpose
Luminaires for diagnosis (Examination light)– light for local illumination of the
patient’s body during diagnosis or treatment. It is not intended for use in
operating theatres.
1.1.2. Location
Only in dry rooms not subject to the risk of explosion. The minimum distance
to inflammable parts has to be 0.5m.
1.1.3. Operation mode
The light is designed for continuous operation.
2. Safety instruction
The light may only be operated in dry rooms, not subject to the risk of
explosion.
Do not leave the light on without supervision.
The minimum distance to inflammable parts has to be 0.5 m.
Keep inflammable substances and objects away from the light and the light
cone.
When using lights of protection class II make sure that the metal parts of the
light do not contact other metal parts which are connected to protective earth.
Apart from changing the lamps, no further modifications or work may be
carried out by the user.
Defective lamps may only be replaced with lamps with the same power (W,
Watt) and of the same type (specifications see X’Technical Data’Xat page 6).
Do not kink the power supply cable to avoid damages.
Do not touch the protective glass.
The user has to comply with the requirements of the national institute for
hygiene and disinfection. Risk: Transmission of diseases.

4. Mounting
The lights are provide with push-in peg. It must be positioned stable on/at/to
an appropriate surface or supply rail (e.g. with a desk clamp, wall holder, desk
stand, Roller stand or bar fastener).
The user has to verify the reliability when using mounting elements which
have been not proposed by the manufacturer.
5. Putting into operation
Before placing the light into operation, the user has to check whether mains
voltage and frequency specified on the rating plate are identical.
6. Operation
The lights can be switched on/off with a rocker switch at the transformator
case.
The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damages caused if the light is
used for other purposes than the intended purpose or if safety instruction
and warnings are ignored.

7. Care, Maintenance and Repair
Disconnect the light from the mains before carrying out any
maintenance or repair work!
This work must be carried out only by a qualified electrician!
As replacement parts only use part approved by the manufacturer.
7.1. Regular checks
The mains line must be checked minimum once a year for damage.
In case of damage the manufacturer must replace the defective mains line.
7.2. Changing the lamp
Note: Let the halogen lamp cool down before changing it!
Only change the halogen lamp using a clean cloth!
1. Make sure that the mains plug is unplugged and the light is switched off.
2. Loosen the retainer and remove the protective glass.
3. Hold the halogen lamp at the rim of the reflector and pull it out carefully.
4. Carefully insert the replacement lamp.
5. Insert the protective glass and the retainer.
Note: Only use lamp types approved of by the manufacturer
(see ‚XTechnical DataX’ on page 6).
7.3. Troubleshooting
1. Check the on/off Switch
2. Check the electrical supply
3. Check the fuse in the transformer housing
4. Check the halogen lamp, change if necessary
5. Check all terminal connections in the fixture
7.4. Cleaning
Note: The periodical cleaning of the face-plate ensure a better light efficiency.
Use a usual glass cleaner.
Do not use concentrated disinfectant or dissolver.
For cleaning the outer surfaces, use a cloth moistened with usual cleaner.
Observe the compatibility with varnishes an plastics of the used cleaners.
7.5. Disinfection
According to instruction diluted brands can used for cleaning the outer
surfaces:

Observe all applicable local regulations.
The disinfection cleaner are applied only for wipe disinfection. Spraying
disinfection is not allowed.
7.6. Sterilisation
There are no parts that can be sterilised.
