Preparing the system
Inserting batteries
The bodypac requires 2 AA 1.5V batteries. Always use quality batteries, as the lifespan may vary. This may
result in an operation lifespan varying from 7 to 10 hours. To access the battery compartment, push down on
the compartment cover and open. Insert the batteries according to the polarity shown in the compartment.
There is an on/off button at the top of the bodypac , also functioning as a mute switch. Holding the button will
power up the device. The LCD screen of the bodypac will turn on.
Setting up the bodypack
The WMD-168MKII-B bodypac it comes with two types of microphones; a lavalier and a headset. They
both feature the same specifications, the choice depends on the way the user wants to wear the microphone.
Both are handsfree microphones. The user could opt to conceal the cable under clothing, and the bodypac
itself can also be worn discretely using the belt clip. Hiding the cable under clothing is always recommended
to prevent the cable from catching on to any objects, possibly damaging the microphone and disrupting live
activity.
When using the headset, the microphone is designed to be on the left side of the head, so that the ear hoo
on the other end of the headset fits comfortably around the user’s right ear. The headset features a soft
padding on the microphone side to reduce strain.
The clip-on lavalier can be used when discrete application of the microphone is preferred. The microphone
can clip on to a collar or lapel for comfortable use. Always try to prevent the microphone from scratching to
clothing in a live situation, as unwanted noise might get pic ed up and amplified.
Connecting the bodypack to the receiver
The WMD-168MKII-B bodypac is meant to be used in combination with the Devine WMD-168MKII wireless
microphone system. To connect the bodypac , hold the infrared sensors on both the receiver and the
bodypac in close proximity and press the ‘set’ button on the desired microphone channel (1 or 2). If needed,
open the battery compartment to enhance the sensor exposure of the bodypac . The devices will now pair in
a selected frequency. If the synchronisation is successful, the display of the bodypac will light up and show
the newly set channel and frequency. The receiver display will show the signal strength as indicated by ‘RF’.
For more information regarding the receiver, refer to the Devine WMD-168MKII user manual.

Volume adjustment
The front of the WMD-168MKII receiver features separate volume nobs per microphone channel. These are
used to change the microphone signal level. Set the audio level (indicated by ‘AF’) by turning the volume
nob so that the spea er can tal at a comfortable level with enough headroom on the signal level for clean
amplification. When the signal exceeds its maximum level, the audio will become distorted. This could cause
damage to connected spea ers and/or hearing. Try to have the spea er tal at a constant level, to prevent
distortion when the level is too high or inaudible speech when the level is too low.
