Introduction
Thank you for purchasing one of the MIDI controllers from Devine's EZ-Creator series. This
practical, e tremely compact, affordable MIDI controller is ideal for adjusting the parameters
in your DAW or other software when a computer mouse and keyboard just won't suffice. The
compact design and USB-bus powered construction combined with practical elements for
seamless software integration ensure ultimate convenience!
This user manual will help you with the installation of the device and teaches you how to
make the most of its functionality. It also helps solve any problems you may encounter
during installation and/or use. We advise that you read this user manual in its entirety before
unpacking the contents of the bo , so that you are familiar with all of the functionality that
this product has to offer.

developers, Bitwig.
Bitwig Studio DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) offers everything both
beginner and advanced producers could possibly need. With the
purchase of this Devine MIDI controller, you can discover the
possibilities of Bitwig yourself completely free of charge!
Bitwig 8-Track is a program that is unlimited in functionality but there is a
limit in terms of the amount of tracks you can use at once. It's a beginner DAW that enables
you to get to know the program so you can move up to the fully-fledged Bitwig Studio
version later on, which you can purchase at a discount thanks to the included voucher!
Register Bitwig 8-Track at www.bitwig.com/8-track and follow the steps to install Bitwig 8-
Track on your computer.
There is a special function in Bitwig for the Devine EZ-Creator series. This means that this
controller is included in a list of available MIDI devices. When connected to the computer on
which Bitwig is installed, the EZ-Creator controllers will automatically be set to the correct
user modes for Bitwig.
If you do not make use of the Bitwig 8-Track DAW, then you can give the voucher away as a
gift. The DAW is compatible with other controllers as well as the Devine EZ-Creator.

Guidelines and operation of this device
- This device is intended for indoor use by adults.

Storage and transport
- This product is not designed for mobile use. It should be transported in the original
packaging or in a padded bag/case that offers sufficient protection.
- This device is not designed for permanent (24/7) use. The e pected lifespan of the device
will not be affected by occasionally turning the device off. Disconnect the device or turn off
the power when it is not actively in use.
- If the device will not be used for a longer period of time, it should be disconnected and
stored in a dust-free environment.
- Do not e pose the device to e treme temperature differences.
Housing
- Inspect the device's housing frequently, and always just before use. Avoid operating the
device if there are large dents or cracks, or if screws are missing. Do not use the device if
the housing is not in good condition.
Contact your dealer or a qualified technician if you are unsure about the state of the device.
- Check the device and the screws for corrosion. Corrosion must not be present on this
device. Contact your dealer or a qualified technician if you find any corrosion on the screws.
Every power and signal connector should be securely mounted. Do not use the device if the
connectors are not secure.
Avoid dust and dirt build-up. Clean the device once a month by disconnecting it from the
power supply and wiping it down with a dry or slightly moist cloth. If the device is used
frequently, the cleaning intervals should increase.

Using the EZ-Creator with Bitwig 8-Track
The Devine EZ-Creator controllers have been included in the Bitwig 8-Track software by
means of a special script. This means they appear in a list of available hardware controllers
in the program itself. Select your EZ-Creator controller from the list and it will automatically
activate the right user mode for Bitwig. This means you don't need to map functions
manually or have an e tensive knowledge of MIDI.
Please note that Bitwig does not support 32-bit systems.

Bitwig 8-Track and Bitwig Studio are products by Bitwig GmbH.
Bitwig 8-Track is not available as a physical installation CD or USB stick. The most recent
version is available for download on the Bitwig website. After installation, you will receive
periodic messages regarding software updates.
The included Bitwig voucher is only valid for installing Bitwig 8-Track. The software is
registered to you by name in a Bitwig account you will need to create.
If you want to use the EZ-Creator controller without Bitwig 8-Track, you can give the voucher
to someone else. The Bitwig 8-Track voucher can not be e changed for money, other Bitwig
products or any other form of credit.
If you use Bitwig 8-Track and upgrade later to the full version of Bitwig Studio, you can do so
at a discount price. Bitwig Studio offers the same functionality with the Devine EZ-Creator
MIDI controllers.
Using the EZ-Creator without Bitwig 8-Track
The Devine EZ-Creator USB MIDI controllers do not only work with Bitwig software. Thanks
to a MIDI editor on the included CD, it's also possible to use EZ-Creator controllers with just
about any software that supports MIDI over USB. If you do not have a CD drive in your
computer, please contact your local dealer for a digital version.

Please be aware that third-party software may need to be adapted to the controller. Always
consult the instructions pertaining to the software in question.
Compatibility with third-party software can not be guaranteed. Take note of the software
system requirements software and compare them to your computer's system requirements.
The included MIDI editor enable syou to change the following settings:
- adjust parameters via knob/fader/pad
- assign/change MIDI CC notes
- change the MIDI channel
- store settings and parameters for 4 scenes
- adjust the velocity sensitivity of keys/pads
If your computer does not have a CD drive to read the MIDI editor, then you can download a
digital version from the dealer's website (on the product page) or request that customer
service send you a digital copy via e-mail.
Explanation of the MIDI editor
Once the MIDI editor has been installed and
activated, you will be taken to a screen where
you can select a target model. Choose the
corresponding MIDI controller you have
connected. This looks as follows: (see right)
Select the correct model and click on 'OK'.
You can then change all assignable knobs,
faders and pads. This looks as follows: (see
right).

Some basic knowledge of MIDI is required to
make optimal use of the editor.

Menu bar
File: Select a device, create, save or load a data file
Edit: Functions for adjusting the parameters
Communication: Read data from your controller or e port a new data file with new
parameters to your controller.
Help: Show the software version of the editor
Scene 1-4
Click on the Scene button to adjust 1 of the 4 Scenes. A Scene is a snapshot of your
controller's parameters at that moment. You can toggle between multiple snapshots with the
Bank knob on the controller.
Device section
The Device section shows you a graphic representation of your device and all the
parameters you can change.
Control section
The Control section shows you a list of the available parameters that can be changed.
Parameter Edit section
The Parameter Edit section shows you what can be changed per parameter. Assign type,
CC/Note mode, on value, off value, Pad behaviour, and MIDI channel.
Parameter Display Switch
Above the edit section, you can select the parameters you want to look at in detail with the
Parameter Display Switch to adjust or adapt CC or Note messages to the controller.
Please note
There are different parameters for each MIDI controller type, and not all parameters are
adjustable in some cases. The MIDI editor shows you which parameters can be adjusted
and which can not.
Using the EZ-Creator series with and without Bitwig
It is possible to use products from the EZ-Creator series with the Bitwig 8-Track DAW some
times and other DAWs, software or even another computer at other times.
