Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as handle, close a door on cord, or
pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord.
Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked;
keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. Ifthe plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does
not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not

switch.
Pushbackdirtwindowflap.
Aligntabsoncleardirtpas-
sagewindowwiththeslots
onthelowerhosecuff.Push
andturntolockintoplace
(inset).
AlignToolCaddyholeswith
holesonhandle. Inserttwo(2)screwsinto
theholesandtightenuntil
secure.
Placeupperhandleonto
upright. Pushupperhandledown ontoupright. Insertone(1)screw(sup- plied)intothebackofthe
cleanertosecurehandle.

HOSE ASSEMBLY
Insert the short end of the
hose onto the tool caddy
holder on the right side.
Insert hose handle into the
left sideofthe cleaner.Press
down firmly. Presshose into
top and sides of tool caddy.
TOOL STORAGE
Assemble dirt cup lid to the
dirt cup.
ON/OFF PEDAL
Tip bottom of dirt cup into
cleaner and push forward.
Dirt cup lid will snap into
handle.
HANDLE RELEASE

Attachtools:(a)Slidethe2-in-
1 tool onto post onthe back
panel. (b) Slide the crevice
tool into round slot on right
sideoftool caddy.(c)Slidethe
extension wand into round
slot onleftsidedtool caddy.
CORD RELEASE
Plug cord into electrical
outlet. Turn cleaner on by
depressing foot pedal locat-
ed on the back left side of
the cleaner.
FLOOR/CARPET
CLEANING
To releasethe handle, push
the handle release pedal
locatedon the Iowerleft side
ofthe cleaner
Usethe cord guidesto store
the cordout oftheway while
vacuuming.
Movethe handleand adjustit
to the desiredposition for (a)
storingtheupright,(b)operat-
ing the cleaner,and (c) de-
pressthehandlereleasepedal
againto cleanunderfurniture.

CAUTION:Brush agitator continues to rotate while hose is removed or in use and at all times while
cleaner is on. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from brush area while clean-
er iS on.
Cleaner must be in the upright position to lift the rotation brush off the carpet when cleaning above the floor.
ABOVE FLOOR CLEANING
Cleanermust be in its upright
position. Removelower hose
fromthe sideofthe cleanerby
twisting to the right and then
pulloff.
Choose any of the hand
accessoriesor use the hose
alone. Simply push the
attachment firmly onto the
endofthe wandor hosehan-
dle. Toremovetool, twist and
pull apartgently.
Remove the hose from the
tool caddy.
EXTENSION WAND
Ifadditionallength isneeded,
usethe extensionwand.
Slide the tool hose into the
lower dirt hose with the
notch facing up. Push
togetherand twist to secure.
CARRY HANDLE
Use the carry handle on the
back of the cleanerto move
the cleaner from room to
room.

EMPTY AND CLEAN DIRT CONTAINER
Depress latch to remove
dirt container from cleaner. Remove lid by grasping
both handlesand turning lid
counterclockwise.
Hold the dirt container and
grasp the top of filter.
Twist and pull the filter up
and out. Cleantilterandemptydirtcon-
tainer completely. See
"Regular Maintenance" note
below for instructions on
cleaningthetilter
Return tilter to dirt container.
Pushtilter intoplaceto prevent
dirt leakage.Returndirt con-
tainertocleaner.
*REGULARMAINTENANCE:Each time thedirt container is emptied, thefilter should becleaned. Papthefil-
ter firmly against the inside of a trash can until the dirt stops falling from the filter: (Filter will be discolored
after use, this will not affect the filter_ performance.) Do not brush the filter: Thecleaning instructions may
vary depending on the dirt conditions. In some cases, more or less cleaning of the filter may be required.

the tour (4) screws. Arrows

Lift nozzleguard off. Slidebelt off motor shaft.
TO REPLACE BELT OR BRUSHROLL
Lift and remove brushroll.
Dispose of old belt. Place new belt in area of
brushroll without bristles. Slide belt onto motorshaft.
With new belt in place, pull
andslide brushrollinto nozzle
makingsurethatthebrushroll
end caps are in the correct
orientation (Ta inset). Rotate
brushroll manually to make
surebeltis properlyaligned.
Reattach nozzleguard.

Secureby aligning the three
(3) tabs in the base slots.
Be sure to replace all four
(4) screws.
