Winter Cover
Limited Warranty
PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING COVER
1. During winter months, regular removal of excess water is
recommended. Do not let too much water accumulate on top of your
cover, although small amounts of water (about 1 inch) will help keep
the cover secure and prevent it from flapping in the wind.
2. If ice forms on the cover, do not tamper with ice or attempt to remove
it, allow the ice to melt first.
3. Do not use any abrasive material to hold a cover down.
4. Be sure to protect cover from sharp, rough or abrasive surfaces by
installing appropriate padding.
5. Be sure your cover is installed properly so that no wind can get under
your cover.
6. Do not attempt to remove leaves, dirt or other debris from cover with
a sharp object.
7. Before removing the cover at the end of the winter syphon or pump
off all excess water resting on the pool cover.
8. Before storing be sure the cover is clean and dry and store in a cool,
dry place.
1. Warranty term starts at the date of purchase. Please note, if a warranty
claim is made and a new winter cover is sent, any additional warranty
claims are from the date of original purchase and not the date of
receipt of replacement cover.
2. Purchaser shall pay all freight charges to and from factory for any
pool cover, or pool cover part, to be repaired or replaced. In addition,
purchaser must provide manufacturer with a sales slip confirming the
date of purchase and a written statement describing the defect.
3. Purchaser is responsible for all installation or reinstallation costs for
any pool cover, or pool cover part, repaired or replaced.
4. Neither D.E.I. or dealer shall under any conditions be responsible
for any labor, or any other replacement and/or any incidental or
consequential cost or damages.
5. The pool cover must be installed correctly and neither D.E.I. nor dealer
is responsible for any damage caused by faulty installation, improper
acts of others or acts of God. Note that this warranty specifically
excludes, among other things, damage due to abrasion, and grommets
pulling out. Your pool cover must, therefore, be installed according
to the directions and properly protected from rough sharp or hard
surfaces and wind.
1. This cover is warrantied, at the time of original purchase, to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Your pool cover installer must be
responsible for any tears, rips, or punctures due to mishandling or improper installation.
2. D.E.I. agrees to repair or replace, at its option, any pool cover where the seam comes apart and/or stitching due to manufacturing defect according
to the following pro-rate basis. All replacement covers are subject to a $20.00 shipping fee plus any applicable pro-ration. Note that all warranty
claims must be made directly with D.E.I. and that no defective merchandise is to be returned without prior authorization by D.E.I.
3. The pro-rate replacement schedule are the following percentages of the current suggested manufacturer's list price:

Solid Winter Cover Installation Instructions
Mesh Winter Cover Installation Instructions
General Procedures
1. Be sure your pool is not leaking prior to installation.
2. Your cover is made from extremely strong and durable material. However it is required
that your cover be protected from sharp corners, rough edges, or any hard
surfaces that may cause abrasion. Padding, such as old towels, foam remnants, or
other similar material, are recommended.
3. It is important that covers be installed properly and snugly so that the wind will not
cause damage to the cover by getting under the cover and causing it to billow or flap.
Inground Pool Installation
1. Be sure that the cover is not in direct contact with any sharp, rough or abrasive surfaces.
2. Lower the water level in your pool below the skimmer. (No more than 18" below coping.)
3. Place the cover on the ground and spread evenly over the pool. Cover should be slightly
suspended above pool water allowing room for water drainage. Adjust cover if pool
water level rises.
4. Insert unfilled water bags into the water bag loops (for covers without loops, lay the
water bags directly on to the outside perimeter of the cover.)
5. The water bags must cover the entire perimeter of the cover to prevent wind from
getting under the cover and causing the cover to billow or flap. Caution, such billowing
or flapping in the wind can cause serious damage to your cover. Therefore, be sure
the water bags are placed end-to-end (See Figure 1).
6. Fill the water bags. If you are in an area of extreme cold, fill the water bags only half full
to allow for ice expansion.
Above Ground Pool Installation
1. Be sure that the cover is not in direct contact with any sharp, rough, or abrasive
surfaces.
2. Lay out the cover on the ground. Thread the cable through the grommets (or loops).
The cable must remain on the outside of the cover, except between the pairs of
grommets (See Figure 2).
3. Insert one cable end through the hole at one end of the ratchet and into the center
spindle. Turn the spindle a few times to secure the cable. Insert the other cable end
through the other hole in the ratchet and pull the cable through the spindle as far as it
will go. Turn the ratchet handle to tighten the cable. Make sure cable lies on the outside
of the cover all around the pool except where it goes through the pairs of grommets. The
cable must fit tightly against the wall of the pool to prevent wind from getting
underneath the cover. To loosen or remove cable, press lever on top of ratchet and turn
handle in the opposite direction (See Figure 5.)
5. Before placing cover over the pool, pool water should not be less than 6" from top of
pool. Where a through-the-wall skimmer is used, cover up the skimmer opening. Inflate
flotation pillow (available from your dealer) and secure the pillow in center of pool by
tying grommeted ends with nylon rope to pool sidewall. Place the cover over pillow to
form a loose pyramid letting the cover suspend over the water around the circumference
(See Figure 6). Pull end of cover over pool wall. It is important that the cover fits snugly
against the wall to prevent wind from getting under the cover and causing the cover
to billow and flap. Caution, such billowing and flapping can cause serious damage to
the cover. If you cannot get a snug fit you must block any openings between the cover
and the pool wall.
General Procedures
1. Since the cover is designed to rest on the pool's water, it is important to be sure your
pool is not leaking prior to installation.

3. It is important that covers be installed properly and snugly so that the wind will not
cause damage to the cover by getting under the cover and causing it to billow or flap.

not in direct contact with any sharp, rough or abrasive surfaces.

3. Place the cover on the ground and spread evenly over the pool.
