Illumine Experience

Enjoying your Illumine
• Whenusingawickforthersttime,allow10minutesbeforelightingtoensureevenoilabsorption.
 • LighttheIllumineTabletopSculpturebysimplytouchingamatchorlightertooneendofthewick.Inlessthan
aminutestime,theamewillslowlycrawlacrossthelengthofthewickuntilitisfullyilluminated.
 • Whenoilreservoirisfull,yourIlluminewillrunfromapproximately3.5hours.Youwilluseapproximately8oz
(210ml)uponyourrstuse.
 • NOTE:Duetotheever-changingbeautyofnaturalame,theameheightwillchangeovertimewhileburning
andwitheachconsecutiveuse.Firsttimeuseofanewwickmayresultinahigheramethatsettlesintoa
steady,beautifulameinabout30minutes.
Extinguishing the flame
• IllumineTabletopFlameSculpturescantoextinguishedinoneoftwoways:
 -Snuffer Method (preferred):Carefullyplacethesnufferoverthelengthofthewick,makingcertainthatthe
grateholesarecompletelycovered(Fig5).Leavethesnufferinplaceandallowtocool.Itisnormaland
expectedforsomesmoketoescapefromunderthesnuffer.Keepsnufferinplaceontopofthegrateuntil
nextuse(Fig6).
  -Self-Extinguish Method:WhenyourIllumineTabletopFlameSculpturerunsoutofoilitwillextinguishon
it’sown.
Be CERTAINtheameiscompletelyextinguishedbeforeleavingyourIllumineunattended.Placesnufferon
topofgrateuntilnextuse.
  NOTE: DO NOTblowoutyourFlameSculptureorusewatertoextinguish.
Illumine Assembly
• PlaceyourIllumineTabletopFlameSculpturewhereyouintendtouseit.Makecertainthesurfaceisstable,
atandfreeofdebris.
• Removethegrateandsetaside.(Fig1)
• UncaptheIllumineOilandcarefullylltheoilreservoirtothellline.Filllineismarkedhalfwayupthe
reservoirwall.(Fig2)-DO NOT OVERFILL.
NOTE:Oilreservoirisdesignedtolltolllineonly.Fillingabovelinewillcausespillover.
•Replacethegrateonthetopoftheoilreservoir.
• Gentlyplacethewickinthecenterslotofthegrate.(Fig3)
• WipeawayanyIllumineOilthatmayhavespilledoutsidethereservoirbeforecontinuingwithassembly
• Carefullyinserttheglasssidepanelsintotheslots.(Fig4)
• Placerocksdecorativelyasdesired(ifincluded).
About the patent-pending Illumine wick
YourIllumineWickisdouble-sidedandhasbeencarefullyconstructedtoprovidesuperiorsafetyandlonglife.Duetotheprop-
ertiesoftheall-natural,botanicaloil,itisexpectedthataslightresidueoforganicmaterialwillbuildupontheedgeofthewick.
Pleasefollowtheinstructionsbelowcarefullytorealizeupto60 hoursofoptimalwickperformance.
Cleaning the wick
Tomaximizethelifeofyourwick,werecommendcleaningthewickaftereachuse.Cleanwickusingthecleaningtool,whilethe
unitisfullyassembled.ItisnotnecessarytoremoveanIlluminewickwhencleaning.
 • Steps:
  - Oncethewickiscompletelycooled,removetheglassormetalsidesfromyourIllumineandgentlyplacetotheside.(Fig4)
  - Grippingthecleaningtooltightlybetweenyourthumbandforenger,presstheplasticedgeofthetoolagainsttheexposed
metaledgeofthewick,sothespikedcleaningbladesareindirectcontactwiththeberglasswickmaterial.(Fig7)
  - Withrmpressure,glidethecleaningtool’srolleredgeoverthecompletelengthofthewickandback(1-2times).Repeat
processontheoppositesideofthewick.
  - Replacetheglassormetalsides.(Fig8)
  - Usingasoftclothorpapertowel,gentlywipeanyremainingdebrisfromthewick.Usebrushtipofcleaningtooltogently
brushawayanyremainingdebris.(Fig9)
Flipping the wick
  • Afterapproximately30hoursofuseononeside,thewickwillneedtobeippedtothefresh,unusedsideforuptoanother
30hoursofuse.Youwillknowitistimetoipthewickwhentheexposedsideisnolongersustainsaameor
isunabletobelit.
  • MakecertainyourIllumineisCOMPLETELY COOLbeforeattemptingtoipthewick.
  • Removethegrate.
  • Checktoseethattheoilreservoirisempty.Ifnot,carefullypouranyremainingIllumineOilbackintoaglassormetal
containerandsaveforfutureuse.Immediatelywipeupanyoilthatmayhavespilled.
  • Carefullyremovethewick,pullingupslowlyuntilthewickisfreefromthewickholdersatthebaseofthereservoir.
  • RellthereservoirwithIllumineOil,uptothellline.
  • Replacethegrate.
  • Gentlyipthewickoverandinsertbackintothereservoir.
  • Allow10minutesforproperoilabsorptionbeforelighting.

Troubleshooting

Wick will not relight / Flame too low
Wick has dead spots:
  • Oilreservoirisempty:MakecertainyourIllumineiscompletelycool.Liftthe
grateandverifythattheunitisoutofoil(thereservoirmaynotbecompletely
empty-theremaybeatinyamountofoilleftbehindthatdidnotwickup,this
isnormalandexpected).Iftheoilreservoirisempty,rellwithIllumineOilup
tothellline.Wait10minutesandrelight.
  • Wickneedscleaning:Usecleaningtooltocleanwickaccordingtodirections
onpage4.
  • Wickneedstobeipped:Afterapproximately30hoursofuseononeside,
theberglassportionofthewickwillnolongerlight.Pleasefollowthe“Flip-
pingtheWick”directionsfoundonpage4.
  • Unitisrunningoutofoil:Extinguish,waittocoolandrell.
  • Wickneedstobereplaced:OncetheIlluminewickhasreachedtheendof
itslife-span(approximately60burnhourstotal),youwillneedtopurchasea

Flame higher than sides / Lots of black smoke:
• YourIlluminehasbeendesignedtodisplayalow,consistentameinanav-
eragehouseholdatmosphere.Iftheameeverappearsblowingandsmoky
formorethan5minutes,thecauseismostlikelyrapidairowaroundyour
Illumine.YourIllumineshouldneverbelitunder(ornextto)aceilingfan,
oorfan,heatingvent,openwindoworanyotherblowingair.Likeacandle,
thepresenceofaconstantblowingwindisnotrecommendedforoptimal
performance.IftheairaroundyourIllumineisdisturbedbriey,theame
mayappearerraticforaminuteorsoandthensettle.
Smoke visible when extinguishing with snuffer:
  • Visiblesmokeunderthesnufferisnormalandexpected.
Flame visible under grate:
  • IftheameisvisibleUNDERthegrate(intheoilreservoir)atanytime,
extinguishusingthesnufferandleavesnufferinplace.Donotattemptto

Diagnóstico y
resolución de problemas

La mecha no se enciende/la llama es demasiado débil
la mecha tiene puntos muertos:
  • Eldepósitodeaceiteestávacío:AsegúresedequesuIllumineestécompleta-
mentefrío.Levantelarejillayveriquequealaunidadnolefalteaceite(espo-
siblequeeldepósitonoestécompletamentevacío,puedehaberunapequeña
cantidaddeaceitequelamechanoabsorbió,estoesnormal).Sieldepósitode
aceiteestávacío,relléneloconaceiteIlluminehastalalíneadellenado.Espere
10minutosyvuelvaaencender.
  • Debelimpiarlamecha:Useunutensiliodelimpiezaparalimpiarlamechade
acuerdoconlasindicacionesdelapágina4.
  • Debedarvueltalamecha:Luegodeaproximadamente30horasdeusodeun
lado,lapartedebradevidriodelamechayanoseprenderá.Sigalasinstruc-

La llama es más alta que los laterales/larga mucho
humo negro:
  • SuIlluminehasidodiseñadoparamostrarunallamaconstanteybajaenuna
atmósferanormaldehogar.Silallamasemuevemuchoylargahumodurante
másde5minutos,lacausaesprobablementeunujodeairerápidoalrededor
desuIllumine.NuncaenciendasuIlluminedebajo(niallado)deunventila-
dordetecho,ventiladordepie,rejilladecalefacción,ventanaabiertaniotro
elementoquesopleaire.Comoenelcasodeunavela,noserecomiendala
presenciadevientoconstanteparaundesempeñoóptimo.Sisemuevebreve-
menteelairealrededordesuIllumine,lallamapuedeparecererráticadurante
unminutoaproximadamenteyluegosecalmará.
Se ve humo cuando se extingue con el apagavelas:

Se ve la llama bajo la rejilla:

Acerca de la mecha Illumine con patente pendiente
SumechaIlluminetienedosladosyhasidoconstruidaconcuidadoparaproporcionarunaseguridadsuperioryunalargavida
útil.Debidoalaspropiedadesdelaceitebotánico,completamentenatural,seesperaquehayaunaleveacumulacióndemate-
rialderesiduoorgánicoenelbordedelamecha.Sigaatentamentelasinstruccionesqueaparecenacontinuaciónparalograr
hasta60horasderendimientoóptimodelamecha.
Para limpiar la mecha:
Paramaximizarlavidaútildesumecha,lerecomendamoslimpiarlamechadespuésdecadauso.Limpielamechausandoel
utensiliodelimpieza,mientraslaunidadestátotalmentearmada.NoesnecesarioquitarlamechadeIlluminecuandolimpia.

- Unavezquelamechaestécompletamentefría,quiteloslateralesdevidrioometaldesuIllumineycolóquelosaunlado
concuidado.(Fig.4)
- Agarrandoelutensiliodelimpiezafuertementeentresupulgarysudedoíndice,presioneelbordedeplásticodelutensilio
contraelbordedemetalexpuestodelamecha,deformaquelashojasdelimpiezaconpúasesténencontactodirecto
conelmaterialdebradevidriodelamecha.(Fig.7)
- Conpresiónrme,desliceelbordederodillodelutensiliodelimpiezasobreellargocompletodelamechayvuelvahacia
atrás(1o2veces).Repitaelprocesoenelotroladodelamecha.
- Vuelvaacolocarloslateralesdevidrioometal.(Fig.8)
- Usandounpañosuaveounatoalladepapel,limpiesuavementecualquierdesechorestantedelamecha.Uselapunta
decepillodelutensiliodelimpiezaparacepillarsuavementeyquitarcualquierdesechorestante.(Fig.9)
Cómo dar vuelta la mecha
  • Despuésdeaproximadamente30horasdeusodecadalado,lamechadeberádarsevueltaalladosinusoparahasta
otras30horasdeuso.Sabráqueeshoradedarvueltalamechacuandoelladoexpuestoyanosostengalallamaono
puedaencenderse.
  • AsegúresedequesuIllumineestéCOMPLETAMENTE FRÍOantesdeintentardarvueltalamecha.
  • Quitelarejilla.
  • Veriquequeeldepósitodeaceiteestévacío.Sinoloestá,viertaconcuidadoelaceiteIlluminerestanteenunrecipiente
devidrioometalyguardeparausarenelfuturo.Limpieinmediatamenteelaceitequesehayaderramado.
  • Quiteconcuidadolamecha,tirandosuavementehastaquelamismaestélibredelossoportesdelamechaqueseen-
cuentranenlabasedeldepósito.
  • VuelvaallenareldepósitoconaceiteIllumine,hastalalíneadellenado.
  • Vuelvaacolocarlarejilla,asegurándosedequelamechaestéexpuestaaproximadamente1/2pulg.(1.8cm)porencima
delarejilla.
  • Dévueltasuavementelamechayvuelvaaintroducirlaeneldepósito.
  • Dejepasar10minutosparapermitirunaabsorciónadecuadadelaceiteantesdeencender.
