4 Target group
All other actions are intended also for non-professional users.
5Intendeduse
The device is intended to simulate the D+ signal invehicles where is no longer possible to pick up
from the alternator, for example Euro-6 vehicles.
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these
instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the
product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory
performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:
• Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
• Incorrect maintenance or useof spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the man-
ufacturer
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
• Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.
6 Technical description
The D+ signal is necessary to activate various additional devices (e.g. battery separator relay, AES
refrigerator, charging booster). The device is triggered by the engine vibration. When the engine
stops, the switching output turns off automatically.

The electrical installation and setup of the device must be performed by a qual-
ified electrician who has demonstrated skill and knowledge related to the con-
struction and operation of electrical equipment and installations, and who is
familiar with the applicable regulations of the country in which the equipment
is to be installed and/or used, and has received safety training to identify and
avoid the hazards involved.

7 Installing the device

The device is attached directly to the engine with cable ties and triggered by the engine vibration.
7.1 Mounting the device
➤Install the D+ Active Simulator with cable ties on a suitable place (for example: wiring harness,
rubber tubes and pipes) which are close to the engine, but far enough from the hot engine
(fig. 1, page 3).

8 Setting up the device
8.1 Device element

The installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

• The installation must not affect the operation of the engine.
• The vehicle manufacturer’s specifications must be observed.
• Do not install the device on any metal engine parts.

• Make sure the cables cannot touch any part with temperature over 100°C.
• Attach the cables without any tensile force.

After the device is connected, it is automatically detected the operational voltage (12 V or 24 V).
Meanwhile, the LED blinking red and green alternately. When the LED blinking only red, the
device is ready to use.
8.2 Switch-off delay settings
The switch-off delay specifies how long the D+ signal is maintained after switching the engine off.

➤To set the required switch-off delay, turn the rotary switch to the corresponding position
(fig. 2, page 4, 2).

8.3 Voltage detection setting
When the voltage detection is active (factory default) the device is controlled by vibration and volt-
age. The D+ signal switches on when the engine is running and the starter battery voltage has
reached at least 13.7 V (or 27.4 V) for min. 4 s. After the D+ signal switching on, the voltage may
drop back below this threshold the device is controlled purely by vibration again.
➤To set the additional voltage detection, the rotary switch must be in the “Setup” position.
✔If the device is in setup mode, the LED is blinking yellow.
➤Turn the rotary switch quickly three times from the leftmost to the rightmost position and back
to switch on or off the voltage detection.
✔If the LED is blinking green the voltage detection is turned on successfully.
NOTE
If the switch-off delay is selected appropriately, the D+ signal can be prevented from
being unintentionally switched off on vehicles with an automatic start-stop system.

9 Using the device
The operating status is shown by different blinking cycles of the LED (fig. 2, page 4, 1).
10 Cleaning and maintenance
The device is maintenance-free.
11 Troubleshooting
NOTE
The device factory default settings are:
• Voltage detection is active.
• Switch-off delay is 60 s.

12 Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your retailer or the
manufacturer's branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer).
For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the
product:
• A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
• A reason for the claim or description of the fault
Note that self-repair or nonprofessional repair can have safety consequences and might void the
warranty.

Das Gerät ist zum Simulieren des D+-Signals bei Fahrzeugen vorgesehen, bei denen es nicht mehr
möglich ist, das Signal an der Lichtmaschine abzugreifen, z. B. bei Euro-6-Fahrzeugen.
Dieses Produkt ist nur für den angegebenen Verwendungszweck und die Anwendung gemäß die-
ser Anleitung geeignet.
Dieses Handbuch enthält Informationen, die für die ordnungsgemäße Installation und/oder den
ordnungsgemäßen Betrieb des Produkts erforderlich sind. Installationsfehler und/oder ein nicht
ordnungsgemäßer Betrieb oder eine nicht ordnungsgemäße Wartung haben eine unzureichende
Leistung und u. U. einen Ausfall des Geräts zur Folge.

1 Montage- und Bedienungsanleitung
Die elektrische Installation und Einrichtung des Geräts müssen von einer qualifizier-
ten Elektrofachkraft durchgeführt werden, der seine Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse im
Zusammenhang mit dem Aufbau und der Bedienung von elektrischen Geräten und
Installationen unter Beweis gestellt hat und der mit den geltenden Vorschriften des
Landes, in dem das Gerät installiert und/oder verwendet werden soll, vertraut ist
und eine Sicherheitsschulung erhalten hat, um die damit verbundenen Gefahren zu
erkennen und zu vermeiden.

6 Technische Beschreibung
Das D+-Signal ist erforderlich, um verschiedene Zusatzgeräte (z. B. Batterietrennrelais, AES-Kühl-
schrank, Ladebooster) zu aktivieren. Das Gerät wird durch die Motorvibration ausgelöst. Wenn
der Motor abgestellt wird, schaltet sich der Schaltausgang automatisch aus.
Funktionen:
• Schaltausgang (D+-Signal) überlastungssicher und kurzschlussfest (max. 0,3 A)

7 Einbau des Geräts

Das Gerät wird mit Kabelbindern direkt am Motor befestigt und durch die Motorvibration ausge-
löst.
7.1 Gerät montieren
➤Bringen Sie den D+ Aktiv-Simulator mit Kabelbindern an einer geeigneten Stelle (z. B. Kabel-
strang, Gummischläuche und Rohre) an, die sich in der Nähe des Motors, aber bei heißem
Motor weit genug entfernt befindet (Abb. 1, Seite 3).

7.2 Anschluss des Geräts
➤Schließen Sie das Gerät wie abgebildet an (Abb. 3, Seite 5).
WARNUNG! Gefahr durch Stromschlag
Die Installation darf nur durch einen qualifizierten Elektriker durchgeführt werden.
ACHTUNG! Beschädigungsgefahr
• Die Funktion des Motors darf durch die Montage nicht beeinträchtigt werden.
• Die Vorgaben des Fahrzeugherstellers sind zu beachten.
• Montieren Sie das Gerät nicht an Motorteilen aus Metall.

8 Gerät einrichten
8.1 Komponente des Geräts
Nach dem Anschließen erkennt das Gerät automatisch die Betriebsspannung (12 V oder 24 V).
Währenddessen blinkt die LED abwechselnd rot und grün. Wenn die LED nur rot blinkt, ist das
Gerät einsatzbereit.
8.2 Einstellungen der Abschaltverzögerung
Die Abschaltverzögerung legt fest, wie lange das D+-Signal nach Abstellen des Motors aufrecht-
erhalten wird.

8.3 Einstellung der Spannungserkennung
Wenn die Spannungserkennung aktiv ist (Werkseinstellung), wird das Gerät durch Vibration und
Spannung gesteuert. Das D+-Signal wird eingeschaltet, wenn der Motor läuft und die Spannung
der Startbatterie mindestens 13,7 V (oder 27,4 V) für mindestens 4 Sekunden erreicht hat. Nach
dem Einschalten des D+-Signals kann die Spannung wieder unter diesen Schwellenwert abfallen
und das Gerät wird rein durch Vibration gesteuert.
➤Um die zusätzliche Spannungserkennung einzustellen, muss sich der Drehschalter in der Stel-
lung „Setup“ befinden.
✔Wenn sich das Gerät im Setup-Modus befindet, blinkt die LED gelb.
➤Drehen Sie den Drehschalter schnell dreimal von ganz links nach ganz rechts und wieder
zurück, um die Spannungserkennung ein- oder auszuschalten.
✔Wenn die LED grün blinkt, wurde die Spannungserkennung erfolgreich eingeschaltet.
✔Wenn die LED rot blinkt, wurde die Spannungserkennung erfolgreich ausgeschaltet.
➤Wählen Sie die gewünschte Abschaltverzögerung aus und der Setup-Modus wird automatisch
beendet.
