the vicinity.

• Before starting a journey, check that the roof window is closed and
locked properly.
• Before starting a journey, check the roof window for damage (such as
tension cracks in the acrylic glass).
•Donot open the roof window while driving.
Electrocution hazard
• The electrical connections should only be performed by an electrician.
ANOTICE! Damage hazard
• If faults or disturbances occur, consult a specialist workshop immedi-
ately.
• Do not tread on the glass dome.
•Donot open the window in strong wind or rain.
• Close the roof window if it rains or snows.
•Donot leave the vehicle with the roof window open.
• Keep the roof window free of snow and ice.

4 Intended use
The Midi Heki FL roof light is suitable for installation in motorhomes or caravans:
The maximum travel speed permitted is 160 km/h, as noise or damage could occur
depending on the vehicle design or installation position. In case of excessive noise,
a spoiler (accessory) can be used.

This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance
with these instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or
operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or mainte-
nance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product
resulting from:
• Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
• Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts
provided by the manufacturer
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
• Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product
specifications.
5 Before installation
➤Before installation, check the roof thickness of your vehicle. Consult the vehicle
manufacturer in case of questions.
NOTE
Find the illustrations for corresponding version on the following leaflets:

➤When choosing the installation location, observe the following:
– Adjoining components (roof rack or attachment and reinforcing parts), cables
and cabinets in the vehicle interior must not be damaged when sawing a
hole.
– Sufficient space needs to be available for installing the inner and outer frames.
– Only fit the roof light on flat and parallel interior and exterior roof areas with a
maximum inclination of 15° to the horizontal.
– You may use an existing roof hole provided the roof light fits into it.
Electric version only
➤Ensure that a power supply line is available in the vehicle for the device’s electri-
cal actuation.
➤Ensure that the power supply line is fused with 10 A (slow-blow).
6 Installation

6.1 Cutting out the hole

6.2 Using reinforcing rails

1. Before installation, check whether the roof hole needs reinforcing.
2. Remove the foam according to the width of the reinforcing rails (not in scope of
delivery) (A).
3. Fit the reinforcing rails (B).
NOTICE! Damage hazard
If you do not have sufficient technical knowledge for installing the
components in vehicles, you should have a specialist install the roof
window in your vehicle.

6.3 Mounting the roof light
Supplements fig. 4
The scope of delivery includes a mounting set, which is suitable for a roof thickness
of 30 – 34 mm. For a roof thickness of 25 – 29 mm and 35 – 60 mm, a suitable
mounting set (see table) is needed.
1. Measure the roof thickness W.
2. Choose a suitable mounting set:
Electric version only

➤Lay the power supply line in the middle on the long side, where the hinges
should go.

➤Check that the roof light has sufficient space around it (approx.1 to 2 mm) in the
wall section.

➤Clean the roof opening in the mounting area.

➤Seal the mounting frame with a flexible non-hardening sealing compound (e.g.,
SikaLastomer-710).

1. Check the direction of travel when installing.
The roof light can be fitted sideways (hinge-side at front in direction of travel) or
lengthwise (hinge-side on left or right in direction of travel).
2. Place the outer frame in the middle of the roof opening.

3. Press the outer frame in the roof slightly so that the sealing compound spreads
out.

➤Place the 11 mounting supports on the inside of the vehicle all the way into the
recess of the outer frame.
When using wooden rails as reinforcement
A
1. Pre-drill two 2.2 mm holes for each mounting support in the roof construction
(A).
2. Fix the mounting supports on the roof with the ∅3.5 mm screws included (B).
For other constructions, suitable screws must be used (not in scope of delivery).
3. Fix the 11 mounting supports with the ∅4 mm fixing screws (C).
To do this use the large holes in the mounting supports.
4. Tighten the screws and re-tight them 10 minutes after installation.
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Observe the sealant manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE
Electric version: Pay attention to the power supply lines.
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Do not drill through the roof construction.

6.4 Lever version

➤Press the inner frame into the groove (1) on the mounting supports.

The inner frame can additionally be fastened with 2 screws on the short sides and/or
4 screws on the long sides (the necessary screws are not included in the scope of
delivery):
1. Disassemble the ventilation grilles.
2. Drill the fastening holes beforehand.
3. Screw the screws into the fastening holes.
4. Clip on the ventilation grilles.
They need to click in.

1. Remove the protective film from both sides of the acrylic glass.
2. Check the functions of the window:
– Open the roof light (see chapter “Using the lever version” on page 12).
– Adjust the insect and the black roller blind.
3. If necessary, enter the new vehicle height and weight in the vehicle documents.
6.5 Electric version
See fig. 0
1. Plug the connector (1) of the switch cable into the socket (2) of the motor.

2. Connect the 12 V power supply line from the vehicle to the motor’s 12 V line (3).
3. Connect the of the ground cable from vehicle to the motor’s ground cable (4).
NOTE
If the protective film is exposed to sunlight for too long, it cannot be
taken off without leaving a residue.
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Ensure that the polarity is correct:
• Red wire: Positive terminal
• Black wire: Negative terminal

6.6 Crank version

➤Press the inner frame into the groove (1) on the mounting supports.

7Operation
7.1 Using the lever version
Opening and closing Midi Heki FL (fig. c)
➤Press the release button (2) and open the roof hood with the handle (1) at the
same time.
Opening the roof light completely
➤Slide the handle (1) into the Iposition.
Opening the roof light to the half-way position
➤Slide the handle (1) into the II position.
Opening the roof light to the continuous ventilation position
➤Slide the handle (1) into the III position so that it clicks into the locking position at
the back.
Closing the roof light
1. Slide the handle (1) into the IV position.
2. Guide the handle (1) with slight pressure to the left and right via the catches (4)
so that the roof hood is locked and the handle (1) is on the release button (2).
7.2 Using the electric version
Opening and closing Midi Heki FL (fig. c)
➤Turn the rotary switch (1) to the desired direction and hold it until the desired
position is reached:
– : The roof light opens.
– : The roof light closes.
The motor switches off when the maximum opening position is reached or when
the roof light is completely closed.

Closing Midi Heki FL (fig. c)
1. Turn the rotary switch (1) to the direction until the motor switches off.
NOTE
The roof light opens at an angle of approx. 70°.

2. Check whether the roof light is locked properly: Without using force try to push
up the glass dome by hand.
Closing the roof light without power (emergency operation) (fig. f)
If the roof light does not close with the rotary switch (for example, if a power failure
occurs), it can be closed it manually. An emergency crank set is included in the scope
of delivery for this.
1. Disconnect the power supply from the vehicle to the roof light.
2. Pull the inner frame (1) off the mounting supports.
3. Insert the emergency crank in the hexagon socket (2) to unlock the motor.
Turn the crank anti-clockwise.
4. Insert the emergency crank in the hexagon socket (3) to close the roof light.
Turn the crank clockwise
5. Check whether the roof light is locked properly: Without using force try to push
up the glass dome by hand.
6. Insert the emergency crank in the hexagon socket (2) to lock the motor.
Turn the crank clockwise.
7. Remove the emergency crank.
8. Press the inner frame into the groove on the mounting supports.
9. Reconnect the power supply from the vehicle to the roof light.
Replacing the fuse
1. Disconnect the power supply from the vehicle to the roof light.
2. Pull the inner frame off the mounting supports.
The cable with the fuse sits in the inner frame.
3. Replace the fuse (fig. 05) (blade fuse 10 A).
4. Press the inner frame into the groove on the mounting supports.
5. Reconnect the power supply from the vehicle to the roof light.

7.3 Using the crank version

➤To open: Turn the hand crank clockwise.
Turn the hand crank until you feel its resistance. The opening angle of the roof
light is approx. 70°.
➤To close: Turn the hand crank anti-clockwise.
Turn the hand crank until you feel its resistance.
➤Check whether the roof light is locked properly: Without using force try to push
up the glass dome by hand.

➤Hold the recessed handle of each roller blind and pull it into the required posi-
tion.
9 Cleaning and maintenance
A
NOTICE! Damage hazard due to a build-up of heat between the
roller blind and the window
In strong sunlight, only close the blackout roller blind two thirds of the
way.
NOTE
The blackout roller blind and the flyscreen can be separately adjusted.
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Do not use any sharp or hard objects for cleaning since they may
damage the acrylic glass. Especially do not use cleaning agents contain-
ing alcohol.
Only use cleaning agents that are approved by the manufacturer
(see dometic.com).

➤Clean the roller blind with mild soap and water.
➤Only for models without ventilation: Put talcum powder on the rubber seal.
10 Troubleshooting
10.1 All versions
If you are unable to rectify the fault, get in touch with a specialist workshop.
10.2 Electric version
If you are unable to rectify the fault, get in touch with a specialist workshop.

11 Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your
retailer or the manufacturer's branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer).
For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when
you send in the product:
• A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
• A reason for the claim or description of the fault
Note that self-repair or non-professional repair can have safety consequences and
might void the warranty.
12 Disposal
➤Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wher-
ever possible.
➤Consult a local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to
dispose of the product in accordance with the applicable disposal regula-
tions.

Gesundheitsgefahr
• Kontrollieren Sie vor Fahrtantritt, ob das Dachfenster ordnungsgemäß
geschlossen und verriegelt ist.
• Kontrollieren Sie vor Fahrtantritt das Dachfenster auf Beschädigungen
(z. B. Spannungsrisse im Acrylglas).
• Öffnen Sie das Dachfenster nicht während der Fahrt.
Gefahr durch Stromschlag
• Lassen Sie elektrische Anschlüsse nur von fachkundigem Personal aus-
führen.
AACHTUNG! Beschädigungsgefahr
• Suchen Sie umgehend eine Fachwerkstatt auf, wenn Fehler oder
Störungen auftreten.
• Betreten Sie die Glaskuppel nicht.
• Öffnen Sie das Fenster nicht bei starkem Wind oder Regen.
• Schließen Sie das Dachfenster bei Regen und Schneefall.
• Verlassen Sie das Fahrzeug nicht bei geöffnetem Dachfenster.
• Halten Sie das Dachfenster frei von Schnee und Eis.

Das Dachfenster Midi Heki FL ist geeignet zum Einbau in Wohnmobile oder Wohn-
wagen:

5 Vor der Installation
➤Prüfen Sie vor der Montage die Dachstärke lhres Fahrzeugs. Bei Fragen wenden
Sie sich an den Fahrzeughersteller.
➤Beachten Sie bei der Wahl des Einbauortes:
– Angrenzende Bauteile (Dachreling oder Befestigungs- und Verstärkungs-
teile), Leitungen und Einbauschränke im Fahrzeuginnenraum dürfen beim
Sägen eines Ausschnitts nicht beschädigt werden.
– Es muss ausreichend Platz zum Montieren von Innen- und Außenrahmen vor-
handen sein.
– Montieren Sie das Dachfenster nur an planen und parallelen Innen- und
Außendachflächen mit einer maximalen Schrägstellung von 15° gegenüber
der Horizontalen.
– Sie können einen vorhandenen Dachauschnitt verwenden, wenn das Dach-
fenster hinein passt.

➤Stellen Sie sicher, dass eine Stromversorgungsleitung im Fahrzeug zur elektri-
schen Betätigung des Geräts vorhanden ist.
➤Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Stromversorgungsleitung mit 10 A (träge) abgesichert
ist.

ACHTUNG! Beschädigungsgefahr
Wenn Sie nicht über ausreichende technische Kenntnisse zum Einbauen
der Komponenten in Fahrzeuge verfügen, sollten Sie sich das Dachfens-
ter von einem Fachmann ins Fahrzeug einbauen lassen.
