1. Warnings and directions
These warnings are provided in the interest of safety. You must read them arefully
before installing or using the applian e!
This produ t is designed to be operated by adults. Children shouId not be
allowed to tamper with the ontrols or play with the produ t.
Any ele tri al work required to install this applian e should be arried out by
a qualified ele tri ian.
It is dangerous to alter the spe ifi ations or modify this produ t in any way.
The absorption refrigerator is designed to be used spe ifi ally for the storage
of edible foodstuffs and drinks only.
There are working parts in this produ t whi h heat up. Always ensure that
there is adequate ventilation as a failure to do this will result in omponent
failure and possible food loss (refer to relevant instru tions for unit installation
under point 4.).
Before defrosting, leaning or maintenan e work is arried out, be sure to
swit h off the applian e and unplug it. Shut down gas operation!
Manufa turers' food storage re ommendations should be stri tly adhered to.
Refer to relevant instru tions for food and drink storage under point 13.
Under no ir umstan es should you attempt to repair the applian e yourself.
Repairs arried out by inexperien ed persons may ause injury or more
serious malfun tioning. This produ t should be servi ed by an authorised
Servi e Engineer, and only genuine spare parts should be used.
2. Area of use
The unit may not be installed in motor vehi les and boats when using the gas
operation method!
Operation using liquid gas is permitted only in well ventilated rooms - whi h
have a apa ity (length x width x height) of at least 20 m3and have a window
(whi h an be opened) or a door to the outside - or out of doors
Outdoor use in ludes tents (awnings} whi h are well ventilated throughout unit
operation and flat garden terra es.
There are no restri tions on ele tri al operation. Site of operation must be
prote ted from rain and other water sour es.
Dear ustomer, please read the instru tion book and all additional information
before using the applian e. It is most important that they should be retained with
the applian e for future referen e!

3. Storage of gas cylinders
Liquid gas ylinders should never be stored in unventilated areas or below ground
(funnel-shaped holes). Avoid dire t sunlight. The gas ylinder should not be
exposed to temperatures in ex ess of 50°C.
4. Installation
To be installed horizontally on a smooth, firm or any other appropriate surfa e. If
ne essary, adjust/align using a spirit level or a water-filled vessel.
There should be a distan e of at least 10 m between the ba k of the unit and any
other obje t (wall).
Avoid pla ing unit in dire t sunlight and next to other sour es of heat.
Ventilating du ts of the refrigerator should be kept lear of all obstru tions to
ensure a good air ir ulation.
This will result in a good, energy-saving ooling system.
. Cleaning
Before initial use and after defrosting or before prolonged periods of disuse, lean
the unit ontainers and door with luke-warm water and, if ne essary, washing-up
liquid. Warning: do not inadvertently press or for e the opened door past its stop-
point (this ould ause the hinges to break). Never use s ouring or orrosive
agents to lean the unit. Wipe leaned surfa es dry with a soft loth.
6. A/C operation
Do not use any additional form of energy (batteries/gas).
Che k that the supply voltage and line voltage data orrespond to the type-plate
in the unit.
WARNING - THIS APPLlANCE MUST BE EARTHED!
To turn on (Fig. 1)
 3-way-swit h (D) should be in position 230 V.
 Turn thermostat knob (A) lo kwise to position 6/MAX. Only after
approximately 1 hour will the unit be ome noti ably ool (frost on evaporator).
 The temperature an be regulated using the thermostat knob: '0'=off, 1-6
in reasing degrees of oolness.
 After suffi ient ooling (approximately 5 hours), the thermostat position an
be set to a lower temperature, between 2-5. The thermostat will now
automati ally regulate the set temperature.
To turn off (Fig. 1)
 3-way-swit h (D) should be in position 230V.

 Turn thermostat knob (A) anti lo kwise to position '0'=off (a slight resistan e
will be felt just before this position).
 Pull out mains plug.
7. D/C operation
Do not use any additional form of energy (mains/gas). A safety fuse must be
installed in the ele tri ity supply between battery and refrigerator in a du t.
12 V: maximum 15 amps; 24 V: maximum 7.5 amps,
It is not ne essary to onsider the polarity when onne ting the unit. Che k that
the battery voltage and line voltage data orrespond to the type-plate on the ba k
of the unit.
If no batteries are used independently of the vehi le, the mobile ooler should not
be operational when the vehi le is in motion, sin e the battery an dis harge to
the extent that the vehi le engine annot restart when the vehi le is at a standstill.
During transport, the door safety button (G) must remain depressed, so that the
door is kept in a losed and safe position.
Recommendation: before journey, pre- ool the unit using A/C operation.
To turn on
The ar plug must be mounted a ording to your ar on the onne ting able into
the plug onne tor/ igarette lighter.
When using battery operation, the ooling performan e is not thermostati ally
regulated, i.e. knob (A) is ineffe tive.
When knob (A) is ineffe tive or if the temperature is unne essarily too low:
Turn off unit
Pull out plug from so ket.
8. Liquid gas operation
Do not use any additional form of energy (mains/battery). The unit must not be
onne ted to town or natural gas pipelines. It is only suitable for use with
propane/butane gas (e.g. Calor Gas, Camping Gaz, Caravangas, et ).

The refrigerator is equipped for a spe ifi gas-pressure, orresponding to the
standard pressure of the ountry in whi h it is sold. The rating-plate states the
pressure whi h is orre t. It is important that a non adjustable pressure-regulator
is used to redu e the pressure in the gas ylinder to the operating pressure
spe ified on the rating-plate, no other pressure may be used.
Needle valve operated gas control taps are NOT suitable for use with this
appliance and must not be used as a substitute for a pressure regulator.
9. Connection of gas supply
Always onne t in the following sequen e:
GAS BOTTLE →→PRESSURE-REGULATOR →→APPLlANCE.
The gas bottle must only be used in an upright position and parti ular are must
be taken every time the applian e is onne ted to the gas bottle to ensure that
there are no leaks, that the gas pipe (rubber hose) is not under tension or kinked,
and that it is not in onta t with hot surfa es.
The onne tion pipe and gas bottle should always be lo ated in positions where
they will not be tripped over or otherwise inadvertently disturbed.
Before attempting to light the burner, every time after onne tion, turn on the gas
at the bottle and he k the gas onne tions for leaks by applying a soap and water
solution over them and wat hing for bubbles, whi h would indi ate a leak.
For your safety
Do not he k for leaks with a naked flame!
Do not smoke while he king for leaks!
10. Gas equipment (Fig, 1)
This onsists of a ontrol knob (B) with built-in safety pilot, a burner with igniter
plug and a piezo-gas igniter (E).
The ontrol knob (B) has three positions:
: high flame (MAX) = gas supply open;
: low flame (MIN) = redu ed gas supply;
: off-position = gas suppty to burner is shut off.
If, for any reason the gas flame extinguishes the ignition ontrol is working
automati ally and shuts off gas supply.
11. gniting the gas burner (Fig. 1/2)
1. 3-way-swit h (D) should be in position '0'.
2. Open gas ylinder or pressure regulating valve.
3. Turn knob (B) anti- lo kwise to the MAX position, press and hold down.

4. After approximately 10 se onds press knob (E) several times. (This ould take
longer than 10 se onds if the unit has been out of operation for a prolonged
period or after repla ing the gas ylinder. Cause: air in the pipes.)
After ignition, hold down knob (B) for a further 20-30 se onds before
releasing.
The flame an be ontrolled by aperture (C).
5. Should no ignition o ur, repeat the ignition pro ess after 1 minute.
6. When a suffi ient low internal temperature of the refrigerator has been rea hed
it may be ne essary to set the ontrol knob (F) to MIN-position, parti ularly at
night, in ool weather onditions or when the refrigerator is only lightly loaded
respe tively the ambient temperature is below +18°C, in order to avoid
overfreezing the ontents.
12. Shutting down gas operation (Fig. 1/2)
1. Close gas ylinder or pressure regulating valve.
2. Turn knob (B) lo kwise to the off position.
13. Food and drink storage
- Foodstuffs and drinks should always be stored sealed in the unit. Thus,
changes in taste and smell are avoided.
- Food and drink should be placed in the cooler so as to allow air to
circulate freely.
- Do not place hot food or drinks in the cooler!
- Under no circumstances should inflammable liquids and/or gases
be stored in the cooler. Explosion hazard!
14. Defrosting and measures for prolonged
periods of disuse
A build up of too mu h i e on the evaporator hinders ooling of the unit and thus
redu es effe tiveness. Therefore, it is re ommended to defrost the mobile ooler
as soon as an approximately 5mm thi k layer of i e has formed. This is done by
turning off the unit and removing any food or drink therin. Never use heated
applian es, heaters, et . to speed up the defrosting pro ess! If ne essary, a loth
dipped in warm water an be pla ed on the unit to help the defrosting pro ess.
After defrosting, lean up the defrosted water with a lean loth and lean the
ooler ontainers as des ribed in hapter 4.
Should the unit be out of operation for a prolonged period, turn off unit and remove
ontents. After defrosting, the ooler should be leaned arefully and dried.

To avoid any unpleasant smells forming in the ooler, the lid should be left slightly
open.
15. Measures after prolonged periods of disuse
Should the refrigerator not fun tion orre tly after being swit hed on, pla e the
unit upside down WITHOUT ANY CONNECTING POWER SUPPLY. After a few
minutes return the refrigerator to its orre t position and swit h on again.
Should the unit still not fun tion orre tly, repeat the pro ess several times.
16. Maintenance
Changing the gas filter: the ellulose gas filter is situated at the ba k in the gas
onne tion pie e. When it be omes ne essary to repla e the gas filter, remove
the filter from the du t and repla e it with a new one. Any other maintenan e and
repair works, espe ially those relating to the ooling aggregate and the gas-
burner system, may only be undertaken by authorized ustomer servi e points.

18. After-sales service
Should a problem arise with the unit, please he k the following before onta ting
ustomer servi e:
is the unit suitably placed and is it well ventilated?
is the unit placed on a flat surface?
does the socket supply current?
is the connecting cable damaged in any way?
is there a loose connection?
has the plug been properly plugged into the socket?
has the electrothermostat been correctly adjusted?
in the case of gas operation, has the safety pilot knob (regulator been
pressed down long enough?
has the regulating knob been turned to the correct position?
is the gas cylinder or pressure regulating valve open?
does the liquid gas cylinder still contain gas? If no liquid movement is
evident on shaking the cylinder, then the gas cylinder is empty.
are several operating methods being used simultaneously?
have warm foodstuffs been stored in the cooler?
was a too large a quantity of food or drink stored at any one time? Food
and drink should be so stored as to allow free air circulation. Do not use
paper or plastic plates. Always keep containers for liquids sealed.

produ t number, serial number and type of defe t.

20. Recycling
After unpa king the applian e, the pa king materials should be delivered to a lo al
olle tion site. At the end of its useful lifetime, the applian e should be delivered
to a spe ialised olle tion and repro essing firm, whi h re laims the usable
materials. The rest is properly destroyed.
This applian e omplies with the following EEC dire tives:
