Thank you for purchasing your new LED PROFAN-4, Please take the me to read and understand the instrucon sheet below. Failure
to do so may void warranty.
CAUTION - DO NOT START INSTALLATION UNTIL THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE REVIEWED:
• The unit MUST NOT be installed directly above a shower or bathtub, or anywhere that the unit may be in contact with direct splashing
of water.
• Before commencing any cung, check in the ceiling space that there are no obstrucons such as ceiling joists and that there is
sucient height clearance (at least 220mm) for the housing. Check that the electrical wiring can be routed from the wall switches to
the mounng locaon.
• Ceiling insulaon should be kept well clear of the unit and all ducng equipment.
• The PROFAN unit is designed for installaon in at ceilings only. Do NOT mount on a sloping ceiling or a vercal wall.
Safety Precauons
• This product must only be used in a bathroom applicaon as described in this Instrucon Manual. Any other applicaon or use is not
recommended by the manufacturer, and may cause re, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Check with the local council for regulaons regarding installaon of exhaust fans.
• Ensure the power is OFF before installaon.
• When cung into the ceiling material, care must be taken to ensure you do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden ulies.
• The heater must be properly earthed/grounded.
• The heat lamps are extremely hot when in use. Do not touch the heat lamps with any part of your body when in use. Allow all lamps
to cool suciently before touching or replacement of the heat lamps.
• For the purpose of avoiding any fumes leaking into your bathroom, the duct for the heater must not be laid together with ducts for
air-fuelled water heaters or other open-re appliances.
• Power cable used for wiring must be rated for a minimum 10A load.
Funconal Performance And Guidelines Of The Profan Unit
• The Infrared lamps are not designed to heat the enre room area. The lamps provide warmth and instant heat directly below the unit.
• We recommend to install the PROFAN unit above the area where ‘drying o’ usually occurs.
• The PROFAN unit is not been designed for extended periods of operaon, as this could cause overheang and premature failure. For
prolonged use of the heat lamps, if the internal temperature of the unit reaches over 90°C, the exhaust fan will come on automacally
to prevent the unit from overheang.
• For the exhaust fan to work eciently, the volume of airow needs to be equivalent to what is being extracted and must be able
to enter the room. Air is mostly drawn from under the door, or through a slightly open window. If the room is airght, the fan will
funcon poorly.
Installaon Instrucons
1. The PROFAN unit has been designed for use on ceilings between 2.4 and 2.7m in height.
2. The unit may be installed between joists using the built in clips. Alternavely the unit can be installed against a joist using a screw
through the ange plate.
3. Disassemble the unit before installaon. Remove the heat lamps from the unit. Simply unscrew them counter clockwise. Unfasten
the fascia-retaining springs inside the housing. Unplug the LED panel at the connector and remove the fascia.
4. Mark the ceiling with a pencil outline 430mm x 270mm, and cut out a hole in the ceiling at the chosen area. Make sure a distance
between the edges and wall is no less than 400mm. There should be a minimum 220mm clearance above the unit.
5. Before commencing any cung, check in the ceiling space that there are no obstrucons such as ceiling joists, cables or pipes.
6. Insert the unit into the square hole, ensuring that the side springs are pulled inwards so that the unit can pass through the hole,
without damaging the plaster.
7. Securely x the unit with the clips, and if required, addional screws can be used to assist unit retenon in the ceiling. NB: Screw
holes are provided in the ange for this purpose.
8. Re-assembly is the opposite of dis-assembly.
9. For installaon where external venng is required or is your choice, select a suitable locaon in either the roof or exterior wall to
vent out the exhausted air/steam and cut out a 155mm hole.

10. Put the Wall Extracon Plate Fascia into the vent hole and seal the space around the hole using a suitable sealant and cowling
where necessary.
11. Fit the in-house end of the duct to the fan outlet, and x the end with duct Pipe Clamp. Ensure that the ducng is kept as straight
as possible.
Electrical Wiring
NB: This unit is ed with a thermostat switch which will operate
to automacally switch the exhaust fan on, in the event that the
heat globes are le on, and the internal temperature of the unit
exceeds 90°C.
1. Ensure that the power is turned o before carrying out any
work on electrical installaons.
2. Clip the switches to the backing plate in the desired order, and
install the plate onto the wall.
3. Connect the wiring to the three switches as per the electrical
diagram.
4. Remove the terminal cover on the heater unit, and wire
according to the label adjacent to the terminal block. Ensure
all cables are securely connected before reng the terminal
co ver.
5. Clean the fascia and globes with a so damp cloth, and switch
the unit ON, checking operaon of all funcons.
How To Operate Heang, Exhaust And Lighng
Your PROFAN unit uses Infrared heang lamps as a source of heat. It also combines the funcons of exhaust and light.
Heang:
• Turn on/o ‘Heat’ buon/s.
• Your PROFAN unit is supplied with four Infrared lamps. You can turn two of them or all of them on for best heang eect.
Exhaust Fan:
• Turn on/o “fan” buon
• Your PROFAN unit will exhaust odours and steam in a quick and ecient manner.
Lighng:
• Turn on/o “light’ buon to acvate the central LED light.
The PROFAN LED panel has been designed to allow for a choice of a warm light or a white light.
The LED panel comes connected automacally to the White (5000K) colour.
To change the colour of the LED panel:
1. Switch the power o at the wall switch.
2. Unplug the LED panel cable connector and replace by inserng the pins in the opposite hole of the connector. When the light switch
is turned on again at the switch, the colour of the LED panel light will be dierent.
• The LED Panel is replaceable if and when it fails. Simply remove the panel from the fascia and unplug the connector. Reassemble with
the new LED panel. LED Panel can be ordered from your original place of purchase.
Cleaning And Maintenance Instrucons
• Domus recommends to clean the PROFAN unit every 6 months or earlier when noceable dust is visible.
• Switch o power before commencing cleaning, and allow unit to cool to room temperature.
• Regularly wipe globes and fascia using a so cloth soaked with neutral detergent. Ensure the globes have cooled to room temperature
before handling.
• Ensure lampholders are free from any foreign objects and/or dust.
• The centrifugal fan requires regular cleaning to ensure opmum performance. With the power OFF, regularly wipe the fan clear of
all dust and dirt.
• Clean the exhaust ducng kit, ensuring there are no obstrucons at the exit.
• Use only a so damp cloth to clean the unit. If detergents are required, use only a neutral detergent that will not damage the fascia.
WARRANTY
Domus oers a 3 Year Replacement Warranty against defects in manufacture and workmanship, excluding the replaceable heat lamps and LED Panel.
Heat lamps and LED panel are supplied as complimentary lamps to the unit and replacement lamp costs will be incurred by the consumer. In the event
of the unit has stopped working, please call Domus for advice on whether the unit has stopped due to a parcular reason. Domus may suggest ways
to troubleshoot to help in geng the unit to operate and funcon properly. If this cannot help, please contact your place of purchase with a copy of
your proof of purchase and proof of installaon by a qualied electrician to arrange for a replacement unit.
PLEASE NOTE: Warranty will be void if failure occurs from lack of regular maintenance and cleaning.
