Prior to operating the HSW EASY Safe system:
Please carefully read and follow the instructions in this operating manual to facilitate
the operation and to prevent faulty operations. Always keep the manual within reach!
DORMA recommends the use of:
• ESG-H (heat-soaked single-pane safety glass) according to EN 12150-1.
• Laminated safety glass according to EN ISO 12543-1.
DORMA glass fittings are not suitable for rooms in which chemicals (e. g. chlorine) are
used, e. g. swimming pools, saunas and/or salt-water pools.
For those cases DORMA offers special glass fitting designs from its product portfolio
that are suitable in such areas.
Please contact us for more information.
In order to ensure the long-term functional efficiency please note the following:
• For best results use only one hand to push or pull the panels.
• Always move only one panel at a time.
• Always move the panel slowly (at walking speed)
in order to prevent the glass from breaking.
• Reduce the speed of the panels before passing through
junctions (angled system configurations) or before moving into the
stacking area.
• Never allow the panels to run uncontrolled along the track and
push them with your hand along the entire section.
• In order to close the system, position and close each panel individually.
• Keep locks as well as the upper and lower locking devices in good working order.
• Keep all locking plates and locking bushings for locks and
locking devices clean and free of dirt.
• You can find the type plate with the ident. no. of your HSW EASY Safe system
on the track profile in the stacking area. You will find another name plate
on the upper cover profile of the last panel in the stacking area.
• This name plate can also be found on the last page of this operating manual.
Please always indicate this ID no. in case of complaints If you have several
systems, please ensure that you indicate the number of the damaged
system.

3. Floor lock on the lower door rail
Front locking bolt
• Operate the front locking bolt with your foot, hand or hand crank.
• When you push down the front locking device with your foot or hand, the bolt
will be locked in a floor bushing. The panel is now fixed.
• The bolt will be unlocked by putting your foot or the hand crank (pane) under-
neath and by pulling out the front locking device. The panel is now movable.
• The bolt will be also unlocked by pulling out the front locking device by hand.
The panel is now movable.

2. Hand crank
The hand crank is supplied as a straight piece which can be bent
at the lower end for cranking. With the hand crank you can ope-
rate the following components:
• Turn the upper door-holder with the Allen key.
• Turn the upper lock with the Allen key.
• Hook under the front door-holder with the pane.
The exact operation of the hand crank is described in the
components’ chapters.

4. Lock with profile cylinder
• Turn the key in the direction of the panel in order to lock the panel in the
floor bushing.
• Turn the key in the direction of the glass edge in order to unlock the panel
again.

Lateral locking device
• Operate the lateral locking device with your foot.
• When you put your foot or the hand crank underneath the lateral
locking device will be pivoted up and the bolt is then locked in a floor
bushing. The panel is now fixed.
• The bolt will be unlocked by pushing down the lateral locking device
with the foot. The panel is now movable.

Locking and unlocking the panels
• for pivoting/end panels

1. Locking
1. Move the panel into the end position.
2. Sing slight pressure, screw in the locking bolts with the hand crank (pane)
a 3/4 turn.
2. Unlocking
1. Loosen the locking bolts with the hand crank (Allen key) a 3/4 turn.
The panel can be moved (turned, swung, or slid).

Switching the panel functions
• for the pivoting/sliding panel
• for the swinging/sliding panel
1. Switching from sliding to pivoting/swinging
Important: Be aware of the actuation order!
If, when switching functions,
3 is first actuated, the door will sag and must be
raised again (Instruction 4
undoing/turning back).
1. Move the panel into the end position.

2. Switching from pivoting/swinging
to sliding
Important: Be aware of the actuation order!
If, when switching functions,
2 is first actuated, the door will sag and must be
raised again (screw in bolt C
and hoist up the panels using the locking hook).

7. Maintenance and care
The fit and the operation as well as the adjustment of the system must be checked
on a regular basis. Especially in case of highly frequented systems, the testing should
be carried out by a specialist company or installing company.
Damaged glass elements must be replaced immediately.
Use only suitable cleaners and cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces.
Cleaning of the floor bushings
Keep all locking plates and locking bushings on the floor for locks and
locking devices clean and free of dirt.
