5# Setup#and#preparation#

Carry'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'by'lifting'it'from'underneath.'Never'lift'or'carry'it'by'the'brush'

or'extraction'arms.'Never'turn'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'upside'down'or'on'the'side'because'

record'cleaning'agent'may'leak'out.'

Place'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'on'an'even,'easily'cleanable'surface'with'the'silver'Nessie'Logo'

facing'to'the'front.'

5.1% Installation%of%the%extraction%arm%%

The'extraction'arm'(1)'has'to'be'installed'on'the'socket'(2)'in'the'rear%right'area'of'the'top'of'

the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®.'

Prior'to'installing'the'extraction'arm'(1),'push'the'gasket'(3)'onto'the'socket'(2)'in'the'rear%

right'area.''

The'curved'lip'of'the'gasket'(3)'must'point'upward'as'shown'in'the'graphic.'

Loosen'the'knurled\head'screw'(4)'on'the'extraction'arm'(1)'by'turning'it'counter\clockwise.'

Push'the'extraction'arm'(1)'onto'the'socket'(2).'Turn'the'knurled\head'screw'(4)'clockwise'

until'it'engages'in'the'key'slot'of'the'bayonet'lock.'Hand\tighten'the'knurled\head'screw'(4).'

Pivot'the'extraction'arm'(1)'towards'the'back'of'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'to'its'idle'position.'

The' extraction' arm' (1)' and' brush' arm' (5)' are' fitted' with' bayonet' locks.' To' move'

these'arms'it'is'not'necessary'to'loosen'the'knurled'head'screws!'Before'you'can'move'these'

arms'back'and'forth'you'must'always'pull'them'upward'as'far'as'possible.'Never'apply'force'

because'this'can'damage'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®.''

5.2% Installation%of%the%brush%arm%

The'brush'arm'(5)'has'to'be'installed'on'the'socket'(6)'in'the'rear'left'area'of'the'top'of'the'

Nessie'Vinylmaster®.'%

Push'the' silicon' hose' (7)' onto'the' tube' that' projects' at'the' bottom'of' the' brush'arm'(5)'by'

approximately'½”.'

''Be'careful'and'make' sure,'that'the'silicon'hose'(7)'will'not'be'pinched'or'kinked'

when'you'mount'the'brush'arm'(5)'onto'the'socket'(6).'Pinching'or'kinking'can'cause'serious'

malfunctions.'''

Loosen' the' knurled\head' screw' (9)' on' the' brush' arm' (5)' and' push' the' brush' arm' onto'the'

socket'(6).''

Turn'the'knurled\head'screw'(9)'clockwise'until'it'engages'in'the'key'slot'of'the'bayonet'lock.'

Hand\tighten' the' knurled\head'screw'(9).'Pivot'the'brush' arm' (5)' towards' the' back' of' the'

Nessie'Vinylmaster®'to'its'idle'position'(see'drawing'above).'

5.3% Installation%of%the%drain%hose%%%

There'is'a'hose' socket'(10)'at'the'bottom' of' the' Nessie' Vinylmaster®.' Push'the'silicon'hose'

(11)'that'is'included'in'the'scope'of'delivery'completely'onto'the'hose'socket'(10).''

Close'the'hose'clamp,'that'is'fitted'on'the'hose'by'pressing'on'both'sides.''During'operation,'

the'hose'(11)'lies'underneath'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'with'the'hose'clamp'fitted'and'closed.''

5.4% Filling%in%cleaning%agent%%%%

''Use' only' "Nessie' Vinylin“' cleaning'agent.' It' is' chemically' matched' to' be' used'

with' the' Nessie' Vinylmaster®'for' gentle,' safe,' problem\free' and' thorough' cleaning' of' the'

records.' Never' use' homemade' cleaning' agents' or' other' record' cleaning' agents' than' Nessie'

Vinylin,'as'they'can'cause'serious'injury'hazards'when'such'agents,'solvent'vapors,'aerosols'

or'foam'spread'in'an'uncontrolled'manner'inside'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®.''

The'fill'opening'(12)'is'in'the'front'left'area'of'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®.'The'fill'opening'(12)'

is'covered'with'a'stainless'steel'lid'(13).'

Remove'the'stainless'steel'lid'(13).'Shake'the'cleaning'agent'beforehand.'

'Do' not' overfill' and' avoid' carrying' the'Nessie' Vinylmaster®'with' a' filled' tank'

because'cleaning'agent'may'spill'into'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'and'cause'malfunctions.''

Fill'the'tank'of'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'using'the'Nessie'funnel'that'is'included'in'the'scope'of'

delivery.'Do'not'fill'in'more'than'half'a'pint'(='half'a'bottle'of'“Nessie'Vinylin“'cleaner)'at'any'

time.'Half'a'pint'is'sufficient'for'cleaning'approximately'50'LPs'(both'sides).''

After'filling'put'the'stainless'steel'lid'(13)'back'to'close'the'tank.'

Replenish' the' cleaning' fluid' only' when' you' notice' that' the' pump' does' not' apply' sufficient'

cleaning'fluid'to'the'record'(short\term'dry'running'does'not'harm'the'pump).'

5.5%Electrical%connection%%

Make' sure' that' you' have' standard' 110/120V' 60' Hertz' power.' The' Nessie' Vinylmaster®'

requires' 115V' and' 60Hertz.' Look' at' the' name' plate'before'you'connect'the'Nessie'

Vinylmaster®.'

Connect'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'only'to'socket'outlets'with'earthing'contact.'The'

outlets'must'be'protected'against'overcurrent'(fuse)'and'against'fault'current'by'an'residual'

current' device' (RCD' max' 0,02A).' If' the' power' cord' provided' with' the' Nessie' Vinylmaster®'

does' not' reach' an' outlet,' use' a' grounded'extension'cord'with'UL'approval.'Never% use% a%

Before%cleaning%records%review%all%safety%information%in%section%2,%starting%on%page%2.%

The'standard'version'of'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'record\cleaning'machine'shall'only'be'used'

for'the'cleaning'of'standard'LPs'with'a'diameter'of'300'mm'(12”).''

Clean' other' record' formats' (7”,' 10”'and'shellac)'only'with'the'help'of'the'appropriate'

accessories'(see'section'6.5'on'page'10).'

6.1%Preparation%

'Always'use'an'old'record'for'the'first'cleaning'cycle'to'get'cleaning'agent'onto'the'

brushes.' This' way' the' brushes' will' be' properly' moistened' and' soft' when' you' get' to' the'

records'you'need'to'clean.'''

Take' a' Nessie' microfiber' cloth.' Rinse' it' with' warm' water.' Lay' it' next' to' the' Nessie'

Vinylmaster®.'Put'the'record'you'want'to'clean'on'the'turntable'and'cover'the'label'with'the'

puck'(16).'Do'not'apply'force'when'lowering'the'puck'onto'the'record.'Just'let'its'own'weight'

act'when'placing'it'on'the'label.'

Switch'the'main'switch'(15,'see'page'8)'into'the'“I”'Position'(red'light'appears).'

Start'the'Nessie'Vinylmaster®'by'pressing'the'start'button'(17).'The'turntable'starts'spinning.''

Pre\clean'the'record'by'removing'all'loose'contamination'(lint,'dust,'hair,'fluff)'with'the'help'

of'the'moist'Nessie'microfiber'cloth.'Avoid'pressing'or'rubbing.'One'or'two'rotations'will'be'

sufficient'for'pre\cleaning.'

Stop' the' Nessie' Vinylmaster®'by' pressing' the' start'button'(17)' again.' The'turntable'stops'

spinning.''''

Now'you'can'start'the'actual'cleaning'process.''You'can'choose'from'3'programs:'

6.2%% Standard%Cleaning%program%%

Put'the'record'that'you'want'to'clean'on'the'turntable'and'cover'the'label'with'the'puck'(16).'''

•Lift' the' brush' arm'(5),' pivot' it' to' the' desired' position' and' lower' it' on' the' record'

without'pressure.'

•Start' the' Nessie' Vinylmaster®'by' pressing' the' start' button' (17).' The' turntable' starts'

spinning.' The' blue' signal' lamp' inside' the' start' button' (17)' flashes' to' indicate' that'

automatic'cleaning'is'active.'

If' the' brush' was' dry' at' the' beginning' of' the' cleaning' process' apply' more'

cleaning'agent'by'pressing'the'start'button.'Carefully'apply'more'cleaning'agent'until'

the'brush'is'sufficiently'moistened'and'a'uniform'liquid'film'spreads'over'the'record'

surface.'

•When'the'cleaning'cycle'is'finished'you'will'hear'a'beep'and'the'blue'signal'lamp'stops'

flashing.'Now'you'can'start'with'the'extraction'cycle'to'dry'the'record.''

•To'start'the'extraction'cycle'simply'lift'the'brush'arm'(5)'and'pivot'it'backwards'into'

its'idle'position.'

•Move'the'extraction'arm'(1)'over'the'record'and'let'it'slip'on'the'record'surface'while'

slightly' pressing' it' down.' The' internal' suction' turbine' starts' automatically.' The'

turntable' turns' in' one' direction.' Then,' automatically' the' direction' reverses' and' the'

extraction' cycle' ends' automatically' when' the' cleaning' agent' is' removed' from' the'

record'surface.'
