The jump start function:
1.Begin by connecting the red crocodile clip of the “Bully“ Power Pack to the positive pole of the car
battery.
2.Then connect the black crocodile clip of the „Bully“ PowerPack to the negative pole of the car chassis.
3.Keep away ist cables from mobile elements in the engine compartment.
4.Now you can start the engine of the car.
5.First disconnect the black crocodile clip and then the red one from the battery of the car. Clip them on
the clamps of the “Bully” Power Pack which are intended for them.
Use as a current source:
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal accumulator with 12V/18Ah. So you can use the Power
Pack as a source of direct current for most of the loads which are provided with 12V direct current by
using a plug for cigarette lighters. To obtain the necessary tension, just connect the plug for cigarette
lighters of the load that you want to supply with energy to one of the two 12V output contacts. Please
note: You can only supply loads with energy which do not need more than 10 A. The output contacts of
the Power Pack possess an automatic fuse that shuts down the device if the tension is higher than 10 A.
If such a shutdown has occurred, disconnect the Power Pack immediately from the load you want to
supply with energy. After about three minutes the fuse will deblock the output contacts. To calculate how
long your “Bully” Power Pack can supply a load with energy, you have to know how much energy (how
many ampere) this load needs. Then you have to divide the total of ampere hours of the internal
accumulator by this value to get the number of hours the load will run.
For example: The internal accumulator has a capacity of 18 Ah and you want to supply a small portable
TV-set with energy (which normally needs 2,5 A), then it will run for about seven hours (18 Ah divided
by 2,5 A). If your load needs 1A, the charge is sufficient for 18 hours; if it needs 0,5 A, then it is sufficient
for 36 hours. Of course, these time specifications are only approximative values and they only apply to a
fully charged internal accumulator.
Instructions for the charging:
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal accumulator which has to be recharged regularly. To
make sure that the device can always run at full capacity, you should recharge it for at least five hours
after having used the Power Pack. Please note: The accumulator also discharges when the device is
not in use. This is why you should recharge it every four to six weeks. To control the tension of the
accumulator, disconnect the mains plug from the socket and press the button for the indication of the
charging status on the front of the device. On the right side of it there are the LEDs for the charging
status of the accumulator: “low”, “medium”, and “high”.
Low (red): The accumulator has to be recharged immediately.
Medium (green): The accumulator should be recharged soon.
High (green): You do not have to recharge the accumulator.
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal power supply unit. To start the charging of the internal
accumulator of the device, just connect the mains plug of the “Bully” Power Pack to a socket. Then the
red LED which indicates the charging level will light up. The internal power supply unit is an automatic
battery charger with voltage stabilizer which the internal accumulator from being overcharged. This
innovative technology makes it possible to keep the device connected to the socket for a long time
without running the risk of damaging the Power Pack.
Troubleshooting:
In order to ensure a troublefree use of your “Bully“ Power Pack, you should pay special attention to the
following points:
1.When you buy your “Bully” Power Pack, the internal accumulator has already been charged.
Nevertheless you should recharge it once for a short time before using the device.
2.The internal accumulator should only be charged with the accessories provided by the manufacturer.
3.The Power Pack is only constructed to supply low-voltage loads (of 12 Volt) which need direct current
with energy. By contrast, loads that need 110/230 or 240 Volt alternating current cannot be supplied
with energy by this Power Pack.
4.If the LED “low” which indicates the level of charging lights up, the current source has to be recharged
immediately.
5.Avoid recharging your “Bully” Power Pack at temperatures lower than 39,2°F / 4°C or higher than
104°F / 40°C.
