• Read all the instructions and keep for reference.
• Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the mains voltage and before all other
connections have been made.
• Do not cover any vents and make sure that there is a space of several centimeters around the unit for
ventilation.

Thank you for purchasing the 6-in-1 Retro Music System.
The 6-in-1 Retro Music System has a stereo record player for playing your 33’s, 45’s
and 78’s, a cassette deck and an AM/FM radio with fi ne tuning dial and integral aerial
for perfect reception. In addition, it features a front-loading CD player with clear digital
display allowing you to instantly fi nd your favourite track, a digital transfer function so
you can easily record all of your music onto your PC and a USB connection (software
included) to transfer into digital format ready to be played on a MP3 player.

Connection
1. Connect the power cord (30) to AC outlet.
2. Turn on the power (5) until the LCD display (2) with blue backlight is on.
3. Then switch the function selector (3) to “ Tuner “ function. If sound is coming from the
speaker, it means the unit is functioning normally. Now your system is ready to play the
music.
Listening to radio
Manual tuning
1. Select the function switch (3) to tuner mode
2. Tune to the required station by turning the tuning knob (13).
3. Adjust volume knob (5) to the desire volume level.
FM & FM-stereo reception
• With the FM /FM-ST switch (11) in the “ FM ” position programs are received in mono
mode. In particular when stereo signal are weak it is preferable to receive the program in
mono.
• Set the radio band selector (11) at “FM-St” position for receiving stereo programs. The
FM-stereo LED indicator (12) will light up to show fm stereo program is receiving.
Hints for best reception:-
- FM : the receiver has a built-in FM wire antenna (27) hanging at the rear cabinet. This
wire should be totally unraveled and extended for best reception.
Playing compact disc
• Getting started
1. Switch the Function selector (3) to select “ CD/USB ” mode.
2. Press “Open/Close” button (17) to open the CD door (10).
3. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray & then close the CD door.
4. Focus search is performing, the LCD display (2) will show the total number of tracks &
total playing time.
• Play / Pause / Stop mode
1. Press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) to start playback, the fi rst track will start
playback.
2. To interrupt, press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) once, the playing time will
freeze & fl ash on the LCD display (2). Press again to resume normal playback.
3. Press and hold the “ Play / Pause stop “ button (18) for over 2 seconds during
playback mode the system will go to stop mode.

• Skip/Search mode (Skip/Search up / Skip/Search down )
1. During play or pause mode, if “Skip up” button (16) is pressed. It will go to next track
and display the track no. and then continue play or pause mode.
2. During play or pause mode, if “Skip down” button (15) is pressed. It will go back to the
beginning of the track, original track no. is display and continue play or pause mode.
3. After step 2, pressing the “Skip down” button (15) again will go to the previous track and
continue play or pause mode.
4. Press and hold the “ Skip up/down button “ (16,15) during CD/MP3 fi le playback to fast
forward or backward the playing track until the button is released.
• For MP3 disc
1. Press “ Folder “ up button (6) to move up through the folders on the disc.
2. Press “ Skip up “ or Skip down (16,15) button to move through the tracks.
3. When the desired track is selected press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) to start
playback.
ID3 (track/album title) function (using remote control handset)
1. Press the “ info “ button during playback of MP3 disc to display the song title. Press the
“ info ” button again to disable the function.
Song title/folder name search function (using remote control handset)
You can search by the title/folder name:-
1. In stop mode press the “ Find “ button once, then press the “skip up” (or skip
down) button (16,15), you can then scroll through the title of each song one by one in
alphabetical order on the LCD display (2). Press the “ play/pause/stop ” button (18) to start
the playback of the selected track.
2. Press the “ Find ” button again and the folder name is displayed. Press the “skip up” (or
skip down) button (16,15) to select the desired folder, and press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ”
button (18) to start the playback of all tracks inside that selected folder.
Remark:-
- In the case that no name had been assigned for a track, “ none “ or “ unknown “ is being
displayed” on LCD display (2).
- The system supports English alphabet and numerals only for ID3 text
MP3 track format requirement:-
- MP3 bit rate : 32 kbps~256 kbps.
- The performance MP3 discs is dependent on the quality of the recording disc and the
method of recording. Furthermore, the searching lead-time for MP3-CD is longer than
normal CD due to difference in format.
• Repeat/Intro/Random mode (using remote control handset)
Press the Repeat/Intro/Random button before or during playback, a single track, single
folder (MP3 fi le only) or all the tracks can be played in different modes as follow:-
For CD

You can listen the desired track or folder repeatedly with this function.
• Intro play
You can listen the beginning (10 seconds) of each track in a CD using this function, saving
you time searching for a desired song

You can listen to all the tracks or folders in a random order
CD/MP3 disc programming (using remote control handset)
Up to 32 tracks can be programmed for CD or MP3 fi le to play in any order. Before use,
be sure the system is at stop mode before programming:-
1. Set in CD/USB mode & stop the CD/MP3 disc playback.
2. Press the “Program” button, “ PROG “ indicator will appear on LCD display (2).
Moreover, it will indicate program no. And digits for track no. To be programmed.

1. Press the “ info “ button during playback of MP3 disc to display the song title. Press the “ info ” button again to
disable the function.
Song title/folder name search function (using remote control handset)
You can search by the title/folder name:-
1. In stop mode press the “ Find “ button once, then press the “skip up” (or skip down) button (16,15), you can then
scroll through the title of each song one by one in alphabetical order on the LCD display (2). Press the
“ play/pause/stop ” button (18) to start the playback of the selected track.
2. Press the “ Find ” button again and the folder name is displayed. Press the “skip up” (or skip down) button (16,15) to
select the desired folder, and press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) to start the playback of all tracks inside that

Getting started

3. Press and hold the “ Play / Pause stop “ button (18) for over 2 seconds during playback mode the system will go to

2. During play or pause mode, if “Skip down” button (15) is pressed. It will go back to the beginning of the track,

3. After step 2, pressing the “Skip down” button (15) again will go to the previous track and continue play or pause
mode.
4. Press and hold the “ Skip up/down button “ (16,15) during CD/MP3 file playback to fast forward or backward the
playing track until the button is released.
For MP3 disc
1. Press “ Folder “ up button (6) to move up through the folders on the disc.
2. Press “ Skip up “ or Skip down (16,15) button to move through the tracks.
3. When the desired track is selected press the “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) to start playback.

Stop and ejection : Press the “ Tape forward / Eject “ button completely inward and the cassette tape will be
ejected. The “ tape forward / eject “ button remain at lowest height position.
Fast forward : Press the “ tape forward / Eject “ button half way in during playback mode and the tape
will fast forward. The “ tape forward / eject “ button will remain at the middle height
position.
Resume playback :Slightly press the “ Tape forward / Eject “ button again to resume normal playback. The
“ tape forward / eject “ button will return to the highest position.
Remark
- Make sure the direction is correct when inserting the tape into the system.
- Some searching noise can be heard but the system cannot perform normal playback function during fast forward
mode.
- It is recommended to take out cassette tapes from the system when not in use.
Phono
Noted:
-Remove the stylus protector.
-Be sure that the pick up holder (26) is released from the tone arm before operating and
re-secured again afterwards.
1. Select “ Phono/Aux ” function from the function selector (3)
2. Set the speed selector to the proper position depending on the record to be played.
3. place the record on the platter (use the spindle adaptor if required).
4. Lift the tone arm from the rest and slowly move it to the record. The turntable will start to
rotate.
5. Place the tone arm to the desired position of the record.
6. Adjust the volume to the desired level.
7. At the end of record, the platter will automatically stop rotating. Lift the tone arm from the
record and return it to the rest.
8. To stop manually, lift the tone arm from the record and return it to the rest.
Remark : This system has an auto-stop mechanism, which stops the turntable revolving when it gets to the end. On
some records, where they are longer than normal, it may stop before the end of the last track. In this happens, the
Auto-stop switch (25) can be set to the “ Off “ position, then it will run to the end of the record but will not stop
automatically. Turn off the unit using the power button or switch back the auto-stop switch back to the “ on “ position to
stop the turntable rotating. Then replace the tone arm to the rest position.
Remark : Phono and Aux-In share a channel on this system. When a cable is plugged in to the Aux in
socket(28) the phono is disabled and the channel will change to Aux automatically. Please ensure
nothing is plugged in to the Aux in socket (28) before using the turntable.
Aux-in connection
Connect the unit to any auxiliary device (i.e. MP3 player) by connecting it to the aux in socket (28) on the rear of the
music system. Using a 3.5mm stereo cable (not provided) connect one end to your auxiliary device and one to the music
system.
1. Select the “ Phono/Aux ” function(3).
2. Plug the cable from the auxiliary device in to the Aux in socket. The channel with switch to Aux automatically.
3. Start playback on your device and adjust Power/Volume knob (5) to the desire volume level. If there is distortion,
reduce the volume level of your auxiliary device.
Note: To use the turntable unplug Aux leads as the phono is disabled with a cable in the aux-in socket

Up to 32 tracks can be programmed for CD or MP3 file to play in any order. Before use, be sure the system is at stop
mode before programming:-
1. Set in CD/USB mode & stop the CD/MP3 disc playback.
2. Press the “Program” button, “ PROG “ indicator will appear on LCD display (2). Moreover, it will indicate program no.
And digits for track no. To be programmed.
3. Select a desired track by pressing skip or buttons (16,15).
4. Press the “ Program ” button to store the track into memory.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to enter additional tracks into the memory if necessary.
6. When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press CD “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) to play the
disc in assigned order.
7. To cancel the programmed file, press “stop” button on remote handset until “ Prog “ indicator is disappear on LCD
display (2)
Playback of MP3 song via USB storage media
Connecting
The system is able to decode and playback MP3 files stored on a USB memory sticks when plugged in to the music
system.
1. Set function selector (3) to CD/USB mode and press Source button (7) to select
“ USB ” mode.
2. Plug-in the USB memory stick ensuring it is fully inserted.
Trying to connect the USB upside down could damage the socket or memory
stick. Check orientation is correct before connection.
3. The system will start reading the storage media automatically after connecting, and
the LCD display (2) will show the total number of MP3 files and total number of
folders detected.
4. Repeat the same playback procedure as playing CD/MP3 disc as above.
Remark
- The system can detect and read files in MP3 format.
- If connecting the system to a memory stick style MP3 player via the USB socket, due to variances in the MP3
encoding format, some MP3 players may not be compatible. This is not a malfunction of the system.
- The USB port does not support connection using a USB extension cable and is not designed for communication
with computer directly.

Encoding of CD disc / Phono or Cassette tape into MP3 fi le
The system is able to encode from CD, Record (from phono) and cassette deck (from
tape) to MP3 format and record to a USB memory stick.
A) CD encoding
i) Recording 1 track
1. Plug in the USB pen drive for recording (make sure it has enough empty space).
2. Play the CD track you want to encode/record, as normal.
3. Press the “ Record “ button (9) during playback of the desired track
4. “ “&“ “ will be fl ashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
5. After the encoding process has fi nished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
ii) Recording a complete CD
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the CD tray & then close the CD door.
2. After disc search has been completed, press the “ Record “ button (9) – note: please
do not press “ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) and then “record” button, otherwise, only the
played track will be recorded.
3. “ “&“ “ will be fl ashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
4. After the encoding process has fi nished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
iii) Recoding by program
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray & then close the co door
2. Select the desire tracks by following the “ CD/MP3 disc programming “ procedure.
Then press “ Play/Pause/Stop “ button (18) to start playback.
3. Press the “ Record “ button (3) and the unit will display “ “&“ “ & fl ashing.
Encoding is performing now.
4. After completing of encoding, unit will stop playback automatically.
iv) Copying MP3 fi les
If using an MP3 disc instead of a CD-disc, the system will copy the fi les to the USB after
pressing the “ Record “ button (9). The operation procedure is the same as CD encoding
as stipulated above, and the system will switch to copying mode only if MP3 fi le being
read.
Remark:-
- The recording speed is 1:1 according to the actual playing time of the Phono or Tape
- During copy mode, the system will copy the MP3 fi le only.
- The system will create an “ audio “ folder for encoded fi les and “ fcopy “ for copied fi les.
- The recording format is preset at – MP3 bit rate : 128 kbps, sampling rate : 44.1khz
- No song title will be recorded during encoding mode
- To interrupt the recording, press the “ Record “ button again during the recording.
- Encoding CD to MP3 fi le or copying MP3 fi le to USB will be successful only if the entire
song is encoded or copied, if terminated the encoding or copying will not create a fi le on
the USB.
B) Phono encoding
1) Plug in the USB pen drive for recording (make sure it has enough empty space).
2) Set the function button (3) to “ Phono “ position and then press the “ Record “ button
(9) directly.
3) The LCD display (2) with show the word “ USB “ and fl ashing, after then display
“ “&“ “ and fl ashing. Now the system is starting the encoding mode.
4) Start playback on the record which you want to record to USB.
5) When you wish to fi nish recording press and hold the “ Record “ button (9) until the text
on LCD display (2) stops fl ashing and returns to “ Phono “ mode.
Line out connection
You can connect this system to another Hi-Fi by connecting the line out socket (29) to an auxiliary input socket with a
RCA cable (not included).
Encoding of CD disc / Phono or Cassette tape into MP3 file
The system is able to encode from CD, Record (from phono) and cassette deck (from tape) to MP3 format and record to
a USB memory stick.
A) CD encoding
i) Recording 1 track
1. Plug in the USB pen drive for recording (make sure it has enough empty space).
2. Play the CD track you want to encode/record, as normal.
3. Press the “ Record “ button (9) during playback of the desired track
4. “ “ & “ “ will be flashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
5. After the encoding process has finished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
ii) Recording a complete CD
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the CD tray & then close the CD door.
2. After disc search has been completed, press the “ Record “ button (9) – note: please do not press
“ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) and then "record" button, otherwise, only the played track will be recorded.
3. “ “ & “ “ will be flashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
4. After the encoding process has finished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
iii) Recoding by program
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray & then close the co door
2. Select the desire tracks by following the “ CD/MP3 disc programming “ procedure. Then press
“ Play/Pause/Stop “ button (18) to start playback.
3. Press the “ Record “ button (3) and the unit will display “ “ & “ “ & flashing. Encoding is performing
now.
4. After completing of encoding, unit will stop playback automatically.
iv) Copying MP3 files
If using an MP3 disc instead of a CD-disc, the system will copy the files to the USB after pressing the “ Record “ button
(9). The operation procedure is the same as CD encoding as stipulated above, and the system will switch to copying
mode only if MP3 file being read.
Remark:-
- The recording speed is 1:1 according to the actual playing time of the Phono or Tape
- During copy mode, the system will copy the MP3 file only.
- The system will create an “ audio “ folder for encoded files and “ fcopy “ for copied files.
- The recording format is preset at – MP3 bit rate : 128 kbps, sampling rate : 44.1khz

2. Press the “ Info “ buttonon the remote control handset and the LCD display (2) will show
the default bit rate (128 kbps)
3. Press skip or buttons (16,15) to select the desire bit rate for encoding.
4. Press again the “ info “ button to confi rm the setting and the LCD display (2) will resume
to “ Phono “ mode
F) Track separation (using remote control handset)
You can divide music recorded from Phono or tape to USB in to separate tracks during
encoding, for example to separate tracks on an album without having to record them
individually. During recording, when you want a new track to start, press the “ “ (track
separation) button once on the remote control handset. The system will generate a new
track and continue the recording. The text “ Phono “ or “ Tape “ on the LCD display (2) will
fl ash one time to show the unit has created a new track successfully.
File delete at USB (using remote control handset)
The system is able to erase fi les stored on a USB pen drive:-
A) Single fi le delete
1 Select “ USB “ mode.
2 Press and hold the “ Info “ button for 3 seconds and the LCD display (2) will show (del
---001)
3 Press skip forward or skip backward button to select the fi le to delete
4 Press the “ Rec•“ button to enter “ YES / NO “ mode and then press skip forward

The system is able to encode from CD, Record (from phono) and cassette deck (from tape) to MP3 format and record to
a USB memory stick.
A) CD encoding
i) Recording 1 track
1. Plug in the USB pen drive for recording (make sure it has enough empty space).
2. Play the CD track you want to encode/record, as normal.
3. Press the “ Record “ button (9) during playback of the desired track
4. “ “ & “ “ will be flashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
5. After the encoding process has finished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
ii) Recording a complete CD
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the CD tray & then close the CD door.
2. After disc search has been completed, press the “ Record “ button (9) – note: please do not press
“ Play/Pause/Stop ” button (18) and then "record" button, otherwise, only the played track will be recorded.
3. “ “ & “ “ will be flashing on the LCD display (2) to show encoding is in progress.
4. After the encoding process has finished, the unit will stop playback automatically.
iii) Recoding by program
1. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray & then close the co door
2. Select the desire tracks by following the “ CD/MP3 disc programming “ procedure. Then press

(9). The operation procedure is the same as CD encoding as stipulated above, and the system will switch to copying
mode only if MP3 file being read.

- The recording speed is 1:1 according to the actual playing time of the Phono or Tape
- During copy mode, the system will copy the MP3 file only.
- The system will create an “ audio “ folder for encoded files and “ fcopy “ for copied files.
- The recording format is preset at – MP3 bit rate : 128 kbps, sampling rate : 44.1khz
- No song title will be recorded during encoding mode
- To interrupt the recording, press the “ Record “ button again during the recording.
