Installing your
POND MONSTA
Electrical Installation
All electrical work must be performed by a qualied techni-
cian. Always follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) or
the Canadian Electrical Code as well as all local, state and
provincial codes. Code questions should be directed to
your local electrical inspector. Failure to follow electrical
codes and OSHA safety standards may result in personal injury or equip-
ment damage. Failure to follow manufacturer’s installation instructions may
result in electrical shock,
re hazard, personal injury
or death, damaged equip-
ment, provide unsatisfac-
tory performance and
may void manufacturer’s
warranty.
Always connect to a
Ground Fault Circuit
(GFCI).
Always disconnect
the electricity sup-
ply before han-
dling, maintaining,
repairing or in-
stalling any pond
equipment.

9
Installing your
POND MONSTA
For permanent installations to the main supply, it is necessary to conform
to the regulations of your electric company and electrical ordinances for
your area. This would include the use of metal or plastic conduit to protect
the cable.
Attention has been drawn to the fact that special rules may exist concern-
ing the permanent installation of your Monsta (i.e. local building codes and
regulations).
Pond Monsta must not be used in swimming pools or areas where people
are in contact with the water.
Always disconnect the main electrical supply while the equipment is being
installed, repaired or maintained. Contact a qualied electrician to install
and wire this product to the main supply.
Warning - The Monsta pump has a thermal shut off that temporarily
switches off the pump in case of over heating and the pump may auto-
matically restart.
Never run the Monsta out of the water for prolonged periods as this may
cause irreparable damage.
Radio Frequency Receiver
1. No Lights - Main plug is not switched on or plug fuse/GFI/breaker
has activated.
2. Red Light - Receiver is on standby, power is received, handle lever
not compressed.
3. Green Light - Power on, Monsta motor receiving power, handle
lever compressed.

How to use your
POND MONSTA
Ensure that the remote control handle battery is installed (see diagram below).
Note - Remove large objects over 32mm (11/4") in size with a net to prevent exces-
sive blocking of Pond Monsta during operation. It is normal for Pond Monsta to
block and require clearing occasionally. Pond Monsta has been designed so that
this requires a minimum of time and effort (see “clearing blockages” on page 12).
1. Plug in GFI (not supplied).
2. Plug in tted three prong RF receiver plug.
3. Plug in RF receiver connector plug.
4. Connect hose to outlet hose tail rmly, a hose clip may be used to secure (not
supplied).
5. Choose Collector recycling option/position for Collector outlet returns (see
page 12).
6. Place hose in Collector locator.
7. Connect hose and cable to hose cable clips. Adjust so that the hose is level
with the water surface when the Monsta is fully submerged.
8. Adjust pole by twisting and locking to a comfortable height.
9. Switch on main electrical supply, standby light will show red on the RF re-
ceiver.
10. Submerge Pond Monsta fully until air stops releasing from air outlet (the Mon-
sta will not pump effectively until all air is released).
11. Compress safety button and squeeze lever to activate pumping on, release to
turn off.
12. Waste will now start to ow into the Collector, it is recommended that the
higher shelf areas are cleaned rst. Always move the Pond Monsta in a slow
back and forth motion to prevent disturbing the sediment and waste.
13. Secondly, clean the base of the pond, again use a slow back and forth mo-
tion using the clear hose as a visual guide to indicate which areas have been
cleared.
14. When the Collector basket is full or over owing, turn off the Pond Monsta by
releasing the handle and remove the collected debris to waste or compost.

Monsta Collector Recycling Water Options
With the use of the Pond Monsta Collector you can either recycle your
pond water back into the pond, directly into your plant beds as pond water
is an excellent feed source your plants can use to grow tall and healthy or
the waste water can go into a drain.
Pond Monsta is completely safe to healthy adult pond sh.
Always turn the Pond Monsta

Troubleshooting your
POND MONSTA
Poor Flow from the Pond Monsta
• Follow clearing blockages procedure on page 12. Check the hose attachment,
the motor housing and the brush head inlet for blockages like large clumps of
blanket weed, large stones, sticks or any other large pond debris.
• If the impeller has been changed, check to see that it has been correctly tted
(see page 14).
• Ensure the outlet hose is not kinked or crushed.
• Only use smooth bore hose as hose with ridges on the inside wall will greatly
restrict ow.
• Check all air is released from air outlet.
No Power to the Motor
• The LED is glowing red on the RF receiver but there is no action when activat-
ing the handle lever - check the batteries are correctly tted in the remote
control handle and the handle does not have any water inside the casing. If
there is water present, place inside a warm area to let the water evaporate. If
the Pond Monsta has been used for prolonged periods the battery will need
replacing.
• The LED on the receiver are not glowing when plugged into the main circuit -
check your plug in the GFI, your fuse box or breaker box. Check fuse in three
prong plug, if needed replace and test again.
• The LED is glowing red on the receiver and turning green when the trigger on
the handle is compressed but still no action from the motor - this may indicate
that the motor has overheated, the motor will reset when cooled after fteen
minutes.
Handle Activation Control
• Occasional loss of squeeze on, release off control is normal. Ensure line of
sight between handle and receiver, adjust hands and body position - this will
improve receiver signal reception.

3. Return pump to point of purchase for inspection and advice (you will need
