Operating Manual
TheValveMate™ 6000Valve Controller provides a compact,
convenient interface between automatic assembly machines
and EFD dispense valves. The assembly machine controls the
dispense valve open and close function. Features include:
• Easy installation
• Initiation via 5 to 24 VDC or dry contact closure

EFD ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
All components of the EFDValveMate 6000 are warranted for one year from date of purchase to be free
from defects in material and workmanship (but not against damage caused by misuse, abrasion,corrosion,
negligence,accident,faulty installation or by dispensing material incompatible with equipment) when the
equipment is installed and operated in accordance with factory recommendations and instructions. EFD
will repair or replace free of charge any part of the equipment thus found to be defective, on authorized
return of the part prepaid to our factory during the warranty period.
In no event shall any liability or obligation of EFD arising from this warranty exceed the purchase price
of the equipment. This warranty is valid only when oil-free,clean,dry, filtered air is used.
EFD makes no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall EFD be
liable for incidental or consequential damages.

Getting Started
❶ Mounting. If appropriate, attach the mounting bracket and install theValveMate in the desired location. A panel mount kit #7020501 is available.
❷ Input Power. Check the voltage label on the input voltage selector cartridge to ensure voltage is set properly. To change the voltage, remove the voltage
selector from the cartridge and rotate so correct voltage shows through cartridge window. Reinstall cartridge and snap into position. Install power cord.
❸ Initiate Connection. TheValveMate 6000 can be initiated by application of 5 to 24VDC to the (+) and (-) terminals,or closure of mechanical contacts
across the (+) and (-) terminals. If a solid state device is used for the 5 to 24VDC initiation,a relay must be used with the relay contacts providing the closure.
(The connector supplied with the unit can be used for either configuration.) As an alternate method,connection can be initiated with a standard EFD foot
pedal #7016714 (not supplied) plugged into the receptacle.
❹ Air Input Connection. Connect the ValveMate 6000 to plant air by first installing the EFD five-micron filter regulator #7002002 to your air supply.
Install the air tee with barb fitting #7016230 in the output of the filter regulator. A 10-ft 1/4" OD air line is supplied. Using the barb fitting supplied,
connect one end to the #7016230 air tee. Connect the other end of the air line by pushing it firmly into the air input connector on theValveMate 6000.
Set the pressure at the #7002002 filter regulator to 70 psi (4.8 bar).
❺ Control Air Output. Push the male quick-connect on the valve air hose into the air output fitting on the back of the controller and turn clockwise to lock.
Valve Setup. Follow the setup instructions in the EFD dispense valve operating manual.
Operational Test. Place a container under the valve outlet. Turn on air and power. Press the PURGE button until fluid fills the line and flows from the
valve outlet. The system is now ready for operation.
