Operator’s Manual City Ranger 3070 Snow plough Operator’s Manual City Ranger 3070 Snow plough
Introduction
The Snow plough truly shows the strength and
power of the City Ranger 3070. The machine,
with its four-wheel drive and carefully designed
weight distribution pushes snow effortlessly
away.
Hydraulically adjustable, the Snow plough
pushes the snow to whichever side you choose,
and can be ingeniously combined with the salt
and sand spreader to make icy patches safe at
the same time.
To protect both the surface and the machine,
the Snow plough is tted as standard with a
safety tilt system and a Vulcullan- (rubber) -or
steel scraping edge.
The Vulcullan (rubber) scraping edge is ideal
for use with melting snow and also scrapes the
surface thoroughly without damaging it.
Useful tips
Adjust the skids according to surface
conditions.
In case of many raised edges, set the skids high
so they do not cut into the edges.
Use the Snow plough for big drifts. The Snow
plough removes most of the snow. The snow
sweeper nishes off the job.
Ensure the snap couplings are clean before
tting, as this protects the hydraulic system.
Daily cleaning and maintenance will extend
the lifetime of both the machine and the
attachment.

1.1 Safety
Avoid roll-overs
Do not drive the machine in a place
where it can slide, tip or roll with any
attachment. Use the machine on a
solid and regular ground. Do not drive
along slopes with an inclination of
more than 5°.
The following situations are known to
cause more instability in the machine
and care should be taken by the
operator to assure safe operation:
– Abrupt steering.
– Manoeuvring with speed on a slope
and/or with weight in a salt and sand
spreader at the rear.
– Manoeuvring the machine on an
irregular ground.
– Low tyre pressure. (Picture 2)
Assembly/disassembly of
attachment
Carry out the assembly/disassembly
of an attachment on a at and stable
ground only!
Avoid standing close to the machine
while it is in use
Make sure that no one is near the
machine while it is in use as there is a
danger of crushing. (Picture 1)
Reverse or shunting manoeuvres may
only be performed when the Snow
plough is raised.
The Snow plough swings to the side
when the right joystick is moved left
or right. Make sure that no one is
standing near the machine while it is
in use. (Picture 3)

1.1 Safety - continued
Beacon must be turned on
While working on public roads, the beacon on the machine must be turned on in order to
warn the approaching trac.
Danger of ying objects
During operation, no people or animals are allowed within 5 m around the vehicle.
Special driving and steering characteristics of the vehicle
The vehicle speed must be adapted to the weather and trac conditions.
Large front attachment
The Snow plough swivels outwards during strong steering movements.
Risk of crushing in the swivel area of the Snow plough
Maintenance and installation work must be carried out when the machine is stationary
and the hydraulic system is not under pressure.
Risk of infection and/or injury from escaping hydraulic oil
Hydraulic oil can cause skin rashes and other health problems. Even a ne stream
of oil can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury. In this case, consult a doctor
immediately.
The hydraulics should only be connected when the vehicle is stationary and the hydraulic
system is not under pressure and the engine is shut off.
Avoid eye injuries
Wear eye protection.
Destruction of the hydraulic hoses by pinching or rubbing against the structural
parts
When connecting the hydraulic hoses, make sure their installation is kink and abrasion
free.
