Tips:
1. Steaming time stated in recipes is only referenced; also it depends on food size, location,
freshness and taste, as you are familiar with it, set time accordingly.
2. Simple layer food steams faster than multilayered food, therefore, steaming time for a large
quantity of food is much longer.
3. For better results, Select proper size food to steam, if food size is differs greatly; it is
advisable you place the small food on the top.
4. Do not fill the rice pan with full, as there should be enough space between foods to allow for
the maximum steam flow.
5. When steaming a large quantity of food, remove steamer lid and stir the food halfway by a
long handled tool.
6. For preventing damage to the heating element, don’t add any salt, pepper, flavouring, or
essence in to the steam plate.
7. Save liquid in drip tray for making soup, sauces or gravy.
8. Please defrost it first before steaming frozen meat or poultry.
9. Steaming time stated in recipes is based on the use of cold water.
10. The steam plates are also used for steaming other food such as fruits, vegetables,
puddings, quick bread etc.
11. When using three steam plates, always place the food with long steaming time in lower
steam plates.
12. You may place different food respectively in three steam plates, as steam will drip from the
upper layer; make sure food flavour is consistent to each other. If steaming meat and
vegetables, always place meat in the lower layer so that gravy can’t drip onto other food.
13. Steaming time for food in the upper steam plate is usually longer than 5 minutes, if you
need steam food with different cooking times, start steaming the food with the long cooking
time in the lower steam plate, then when the remaining time reaches that of food with the
short cooking time, carefully remove steam lid with oven gloves and place lower support
and lower steam plate filled with food, eventually, cover with steam lid and continue
steaming.
