oferowane jako uzupełnienie łóżek regulowanych ELBUR typu PB,
przeznaczone do łagodzenia i kompensowania niesprawności osobom
starszym czy o ograniczonej sprawności ruchowej.
Niniejsza instrukcja skierowana jest zarówno do użytkowników szafek
przyłóżkowych RUBENS, jak i osób odpowiedzialnych za ich montaż,
pielęgnację czy serwis. Stanowczo zalecamy postępowanie zgodne
z zawartymi tu wskazówkami, których celem jest wyeliminowanie zagrożeń

1.0. Product description
1.1. Purpose and range of application
RUBENS bedside cabinets are great addition to ELBUR nursing beds
type PB offered by our company Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. They are intended to
alleviate and compensate injuries and disabilities for older, frail and
handicapped people. They allow patients to store their private things
on them and simplify eating meals, reading books, newspapers or using
a computer. They are easy to clean and high quality workmanship.
RUBENS bedside cabinets are made of furniture board finished with PVC
veneer. They can be located on both sides of the nursing bed, due to its
construction, without loss of functionality - doors and drawer can be opened
from both sides, what is very useful. Those products stand on four castors –
two of them can be locked. Private things patient can store on the open shelf
or inside the closed space, which is split on two levels. Only difference
between RUBENS 1 and RUBENS 2 is that patient or user can swivel and
adjust height of table tray in RUBENS 2.
Our products meet the varying needs of patients and professional
caregivers. In order to meet customer expectations we care about attractive
design, as well as matching furniture systems in every place of use. That
is why we offer our customers wide choice of decors, although our standard
is dark beech décor.
RUBENS bedside cabinets described in this document compliant with
the requirement of the EEC Directive on medical devices 93/42/EEC dated
14 June 1993 with subsequent amendments.

2.2. Potential risks and warning messages
Warnings
Use the bedside cabinet in accordance to normal operating procedure
and its purpose.
Before start using the bedside cabinet, read instruction carefully
and familiarize with rated values provided at name plates, labels
and in this manual. It helps to prevent any damage and risk occurring
due to incorrect operation.
Keep the instruction manual for future reference and have access to it at
any time –it provides information for operator and patient regarding the
convenient handling and safe operation.
Safe working load of the bedside table tray is 6 kg and it cannot be
exceeded. Do not lean on the table –it can cause damage of adjustment
mechanism and lead to serious injuries!
Before every use make sure that the bedside cabinet is in proper
and faultless condition.
Only use technically perfect bedside cabinet - contact manufacturer or
distributor if the exchange or repair of faulty parts have to be made.
If damage or malfunction is suspected, take the bedside cabinet out
of service immediately and label it as non-conforming product.
Use only original Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. accessories –modification of
bedside cabinets is strictly forbidden without authorization of our
company.
Make sure that other attached equipment can work in a secure and safe
manner (do not hesitate to contact manufacturer with questions).
Make sure that castors have their brakes applied when location of bedside
cabinet is not going to change.
Close tray down before relocating the bedside cabinet. Do not load
bedside table tray during pushing it closer to the nursing bed.
Before adjusting the height of bedside table tray, make sure there are
not any obstacles, such as furniture, window sill etc.
Make sure that no cable from electric devices is rolled over during
relocating bedside cabinet.
Make sure that no cable from electric devices is damaged, stretched
or crushed between bedside cabinet parts.
Do not clean bedside cabinets with a water jet or a high-pressure cleaner.
Clean only with a moist towel.
Never use scouring agents, abrasive cleaning agents, stainless steel
cleaners or scouring pads, because they can damage the surface.
Remove quickly stains, liquid from shelf or top of the bedside cabinet –
otherwise it can cause dampness of particle board.
Read instruction carefully before commencing assembly.

Verify the shipment contents with your order before commencing
assembly to make sure that you have got all necessary parts
and components.
Remember to use proper tools.
It is obligated with every maintenance to perform regular inspections,
to ensure the safe condition of the bedside cabinet.
The safety information indicated above and found in this instruction
manual must always be strictly observed.
3.0. Scope of delivery
Before commencing assembly of the bedside cabinet, please read
instruction carefully and verify the shipment contents with your order. Please
contact your distributor or Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. customer service, if you miss
any component or get something in bad condition
If you place an order for RUBENS 1 or RUBENS 2 you should expect
to receive:
•bedside cabinet with door both sides, drawer (inserts removable)
and bedside table tray,
•4 handles (2 drawer, 2 for doors),
•1 handle for bedside table tray,
•4 castors (2 of them can be locked),
•1 wooden shelf,
•16 screws to assembly castors,
•8 long screws to assembly handles,
•2 short screws to assembly handle for bedside table tray.
4.0. Accessories
Warning
Use only original Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. accessories –modification of
bedside cabinets is strictly forbidden without authorization of our
company.
There is possibility to order plastic cover for top of the bedside cabinet,
which helps protecting it from liquid spill.
5.0. Spare parts
Spare parts can be ordered from distributor or Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k.
For reasons of safety, it is allowed to use only original spare parts
or accessories from our company. Otherwise, we will assume no liability for
any accidents, damage, injury and risks that come about through the use of
other spare parts or accessories.

6.0. Assembly
Before commencing assembly of the nursing bed, please read carefully
instruction manual and verify the shipment contents with your order (chapter
3.0). Please contact your distributor or Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. customer
service, if you miss any items or get something in bad condition.
Warnings
In order to avoid wrong assembly, read carefully instruction manual
and pay attention to labelling on the bedside cabinet. Remember also
to use proper tools.
6.1. Location requirements
•
there must be enough space available for adjusting the bedside cabinet
tray, its position and height,
•
RUBENS bedside cabinets can be located on both sides of the nursing
bed, due to its construction, without loss of functionality.
6.2. Castors assembly
•
carefully lay the bedside cabinet down on its side
(where is not bedside table tray),
•
fix castors from the bottom –use 4 screws for
each castor,
•
two castors have locking functions –they should
be fixed diagonally,
•
after fixing all castors, bedside cabinet can stand
on them, two castors should be locked now.
Note
There should be access to castors at all the time. They have to be placed
along the bedside cabinet before locking them.
For the purpose of activating (1) the brake push the foot lever down as far
as it goes.
For the purpose of deactivating (2) the brake push the foot lever toward
as far as it goes.

6.3. Handles assembly
•
bring drawer out a bit, attach handle to it and screw two long screws
from inside –do the same on the other side of drawer
•
open door, attach handle to it and screw two long screws from inside –
do the same for the second door,
•
attach handle to bedside table tray and screw to short screws
two assembly it.
It is recommended to assembly handles for drawer and doors on both
sides of the RUBENS bedside cabinet, because it allows using it in case of
change its position in regard to the nursing bed location.
7.0. Using RUBENS bedside cabinets
7.1. Open tray out - RUBENS 1
Firstly, push handle down (3) and pull it right up (4). It releases locking
mechanism –then bedside table tray can be opened outwards and placed
parallel to the floor (5).

7.2. Adjustment of bedside table tray level -
RUBENS 1
Please adjust black knobs (6) to adjust
level of bedside table tray. It has to be
done on both ends at the same time and
each knob has to be at the same level.
7.3. Close tray down - RUBENS 1
Firstly, pull tray right up using handle and slowly
lower it. Then push handle down until it stops (7) and
push it forward (8) to the side of bedside cabinet to
lock it in the limited space (normal position).
7.4. Open tray out - RUBENS 2
Firstly, push handle down (9) and pull it right up (10). It releases locking
mechanism –then bedside table tray can be opened outwards and placed
parallel to the floor (11).

7.5. Height adjustment and swiveling of the
bedside table tray - RUBENS 2
Warning
Before adjusting the height of bedside table tray, make sure there are
not any obstacles, such as furniture, window sill etc.
The biggest advantage of the
RUBENS 2 is that there is possibility to
adjust height and angle level of bedside
table tray.
Pull two black levers (12) to release
gas spring. It allows to adjust height in
demanded range (release levers when
the height is good enough for patient).
The adjustment range is between 66
and 94 cm (13).
Press button (14) and swivel bedside
table tray –it clicks into required
position after releasing that button.
There are three positions available
to achieve for bedside table tray.
Warnings
Do not load bedside table tray before
locking it in the proper position and
during pushing it closer to the
nursing bed.
Do not put any drinks or meals on
bedside table tray when it is
swiveled.
Safe working load of the bedside
table tray is 6 kg and it cannot be
exceeded. Do not lean on the table
–it can cause damage of adjustment
mechanism and lead to serious
injuries!

Firstly, pull tray right up using handle and slowly
lower it. Then push handle down until it stops (15)
and push it forward (16) to the side of bedside cabinet
to lock it in the limited space (normal position).

7.7. Insert / pull out the drawer
Customer gets the bedside cabinet with the
inserted drawer. To pull it out completely, please twist
the wooden locking component and hide it in the free
space under the top of bedside cabinet. To insert
drawer back, please twist the wooden locking
component and hide it in the free space under the top
of bedside cabinet, then move it forward and make
sure it cannot be pulled out.
7.8. Middle shelf location
It all depends on which side of the nursing bed is
bedside cabinet located. Middle shelf (18) allows to
split closed space for two parts and still leave enough
space for bigger items, bottles for example. It can be
easily moved on wooden guide –it is not fixed
permanently.
8.0. Maintenance
Warings
Do not clean bedside cabinets with a water jet or a high-pressure cleaner.
Clean only with a moist towel.
Never use scouring agents, abrasive cleaning agents, stainless steel
cleaners or scouring pads, because they can damage the surface.
Remove quickly stains, liquid from shelf or top of the bedside cabinet –
otherwise it can cause dampness of particle board.
8.1. Disinfecting
All mild, not aggressive disinfectants set out in EN 12720+A1 can be
wiped on the bedside cabinets to clean them. They must be cleaned
and washed down with disinfectant in case of a patient change or in other
situation required it.

8.2. Cleaning and care
All components of the bedside cabinet are made from the best quality
material. The surface of steel tubes is coated with a durable polyester powder
layer. All wooden or wood-based parts are protected with non-hazardous
varnish. The bedside cabinet components can be easily cleaned
and maintained according to the effective hygienic rules in specific areas
by disinfecting wiping. Adhering to the described below rules of the furniture
maintenance ensures its long life and keeps its nice appearance.

Warnings

of service immediately, label and protect it properly as a non-conforming
product.
Contact manufacturer or distributor if the exchange or repair of faulty
parts have to be made.
It is obligated to perform regular inspections, to ensure the safe condition
of the bedside cabinet:

10.0. Transport and storage
All ordered bedside cabinets are packed on the transport palette, which
can be relocated by the hand pallet truck or the forklift. Reliable package
protects bedside cabinets from external damages and ensures that patient
or user get a bedside cabinet in the perfect condition.
Technical specifications (subclause 1.2.) contain guidance of operating
and storage conditions for Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. furniture.
Bedside cabinets shall be protected from destruction under external
influences before re-storage.
Disassembly shall be performed in the opposite directions to steps
specified in paragraph 6 –Assembly.
11.0. Disposal
Bedside cabinets are made of metal, wooden and plastic components.
If they must be scrapped, the plastic and metal parts shall be recycled
according to legal regulations. If in doubt, please contact your nearest
disposal facility, local community, distributor or Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k.
customer service.
12.0. Warranty
The manufacturer gives a guarantee of 24 months for a perfect
functioning bedside cabinet.

1.0. Produktbeschreibung
1.1. Verwendungszweck und Einsatzbereich
RUBENS Nachtschränke sind als Zubehör zum Pflegebett verwendbar.
Sie sorgen für eine komfortable Nutzung und verbessern
Arbeitsbedingungen für Pflegepersonal bei notwendiger Pflege von
kranken, gebrechlichen Menschen. Sie ermöglichen den Patienten, ihre
privaten Gegenstände zu verstauen und vereinfachen Mahlzeiten zu
essen, Bücher, Zeitungen zu lesen oder Computer zu benutzen. Die
Nachttische sind benutzerfreundlich und leicht zu reinigen.
RUBENS Nachtschränke sind aus PVC-furnierter Möbelplatte gefertigt.
Sie können aufgrund seiner Konstruktion ohne Verlust der Funktionalität
auf bei- den Seiten des Pflegebettes benutzt werden, - Türen und
Schubladen können von beiden Seiten geöffnet werden, was sehr nützlich
ist. Nachttische stehen auf vier Rollen - zwei davon mit Feststellbremse.
Private Gegenstände kann Patient auf dem offenen Regal oder im
geschlossenen Fach verstau- en, der noch mit Regalplatte auf zwei Ebene

2.2. Mögliche Risiken und Warnmeldungen

Verwenden Sie den Bett-Nachtschrank nach den normalen Gebrauchs-
verfahren und gemäß seiner Bestimmung.
Vor der Inbetriebnahme des Schrankes lesen Sie die Anweisungen
sorgfältig durch und machen Sie sich mit Nennwerten auf den
Typenschilder, Etiketten und mit dieser Gebrauchsanweisung vertraut.
Es hilft jegliche Schäden und das Risikoauftritt aufgrund Fehlbedienung
zu verhindern.
Vergessen Sie nicht diese Gebrauchsanweisung fur die Zukunft zu
behalten und halten Sie sie jederzeit griffbereit.
Sichere Arbeitslast darf nicht überschritten werden. Nicht auf die Tisch-
platte aufstützen – es kann zu Schaden von Verstellmechanismus und
auch zu ernsthaften Verletzungen führen!
Vor jedem Gebrauch sicherstellen, daß der Bett-Nachtschrank in ein-
wandfreiem Zustand ist.
Benutzen Sie nur technisch perfekte Bett-Nachtschrank.
Kontaktieren Sie den Hersteller oder Vertreiber wenn der Austausch oder
die Reparatur defekterTeile vorgenommen werden sollen.
Wenn eine Beschädigung oder Fehlfunktion vermutet wird, nehmen Sie
den Tisch sofort außer Betrieb, und beschriften Sie ihn entsprechend.
Verwenden Sie nur Original Elbur sp. z o.o. sp.k. Zubehör –Modifikation
von RUBENS - Tischen ist ohne Genehmigung unseres Unternehmens
verboten.
Stellen Sie sicher, daß andere angeschlossene Geräte auf zuverlässige
und sichere Art und Weise funktionieren können (bei Fragen bitte den
Hersteller kontaktieren).
Stellen Sie sicher, daß alle Rollen haben ihre Bremsen angezogen,
wenn Standort des Bett-Nachtschranks nicht verändert werden soll.
Beim Schieben auf andere Stelle schließen Sie Tablett. Legen Sie keine
Gegenstände auf dem Tablett während sie den Tisch näher an das Pfle-
gebett schieben.
Vor dem Einstellen der Höhe des Tisches, stellen Sie sicher, daß es keine
Hindernisse, wie Möbel, Fensterbank usw. gibt.
Stellen Sie sicher, daß kein Kabel von elektrischen Geräten während
Ver- lagerung des Tisches überrollt wird.
Achten Sie darauf, daß kein Kabel von elektrischen Geräten zwischen
Tisch-Teilen beschädigt, gedehntoder geknickt wird.
Reinigen Sie die Schränke nicht mit einem Wasserstrahl oder mit einem
Hochdruckreiniger. Reinigen Sie es nur mit einem feuchten Tuch.
Niemals scheuernde, ätzende Reinigungsmittel verwenden, da sie die
Oberfläche beschädigen können.
