Adjust the gain control for optimum performance:
If the signal is too weak rotate the gain control clockwise to
increase the gain:
a weak signal is indicated by the following:
On analogue television - a faint, grainy or snowy picture.
On digital television - a picture that freezes, and shows "blocks"
On analogue radio - a background hiss
On digital radio - intermittent loss of signal.
If the signal is still too weak:
Check all connectors and connections, and make sure that they are
firmly connected.
Check that the aerial is pointing in the right direction
Check that the aerial is not shadowed by other buildings
Use a larger aerial, or an aerial with more gain.
If the signal is too strong turn the gain control anticlockwise
to reduce the gain:
too strong a signal is indicated by the following:
On analogue television - a herringbone pattern on the picture.
On digital television - a sudden loss of picture when the signal level
increases.
On analogue radio - audio distortion.
On digital radio - a sudden loss of signal when the gain is increased.
