This product is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of original purchase. If any defect
arises due to faulty materials or workmanship the faulty products must be returned to the
place of purchase. Refunds or replacement is at the discretion of the store.
The following conditions apply:
•The product must be returned to the retailer with the original proof of purchase.
•The product must be installed and used in accordance with the instructions contained
in this instruction guide.
•It must be used only for domestic purposes.
•It does not cover wear and tear, damage, misuse or consumable parts.

Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following.
1. Do not touch hot surfaces.
2. Do not immerse cord plug or appliance in water or other liquid.
3. Close supervision of children is necessary when the appliance is being used or
cooling.
4. Allow to cool before adding or removing accessories.
5. Always switch off at the wall socket and then unplug from wall socket when not in
use and before cleaning
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
has malfunctions or has been damaged. If in doubt consult the authorised dealer or
a qualified electrician
7. Do not use outdoors or in damp/wet environments.
8. This appliance is for household use only.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, touch hot surfaces or sharp
edges.
10. Do not place on or near a heat source.
11. Toasting Lever must be in the “Up” position before attaching or disconnecting the
plug from wall outlet.
12. Utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may increase the risk of electric
shock or fire.
13. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in always disconnect from
the power supply.
14. Use this product in a space where there are no combustible or flammable materials.
15. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating
use extreme care when using this appliance.
16. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a qualified electrician.
17. The product should not be used by children or infirm persons unless adequate
supervision or training is given.
18. Ensure that the voltage of the appliance matches the mains voltage of the location
where it is to be used.

Electrical safely
Class 1 Configuration
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
GREEN/YELLOW: EARTH (E)
BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)
BROWN: LIVE (L)
Class 1 Configuration
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
•The wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW (or coloured GREEN) must be
connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter “E” or by the
earth symbol .
•The wire which is coloured BLUE (or coloured BLACK) must be connected to the
NEUTRAL terminal which is marked with the letter “N”.
•The wire which is coloured BROWN (or coloured RED) must be connected to the
LIVE terminal which is marked with the letter “L”.
Always ensure that the Mains Cord is fixed into the plug through the Cord Guard or Cable
Clamp, (plug wiring diagram above), and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp
the cord (outer sheath and inner coloured wires) into position in the plug. Make sure that the
plug top is also fitted securely.
This appliance must be protected by a 13 Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363) plug. Should
you need to replace the fuse, use only a 13Amp ASTAapproved BS1362 fuse (5A).
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES
It is important to ensure the correct Plug Adaptor is used when operating in a country not
using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

How to use this toaster
•Insert the plug into a suitable mains supply socket and turn the power on.
•Place up to two slices of bread, muffins or bagels into bread slots
•Select the desired browning setting from No. 1 to No.7 on the browning control knob.
(No. 1- lightest, no.7 – darkest) When using the toaster for the first time we suggest
you toast on number 3. Varying types of bread and personal preference may require a
different browning setting. (High lift: to remove smaller items such as crumpets and
muffins, lift carriage control lever approximately 20mm above the starting position.)
•Press the carriage control level down until it clicks into place. Toasting cycle will
automatically commence. Please note if the toaster is not plugged in the switched on
the power point the carriage control lever will not click into place.
•The toaster turns off when the desired toast color is achieved and automatically raises
the toast. The toasting process can be stopped at any time by pressing the cancel
button.
•Toasting Frozen bread: toast frozen bread, place the bread into the bread slots and
select the desired browning setting. Press the carriage control level down until it
clicks into place then press the frozen button
•Reheating toast: the toaster allows you to reheat toast without additional toasting. To
reheat, place toast into bread slots, lower the carriage control lever until it clicks into
place and press the reheat button.
Cleaning
•Always turn the power off, remove the plug and allow the toaster too cool before
cleaning.
•To remove any crumbs from the toaster, slide out the crumb tray from under the
toaster, empty and replace in the toaster before using tit again.
•The crumb tray should be cleaned regularly. Do not allow breadcrumbs to accumulate
in the bottom of the toaster.
•Wipe the outside of the toaster with a slightly dampened cloth and polish with a soft
dry cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
•To clean the interior, turn the toaster upside down over the sink and shake crumbs
free.
NOTICE
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
