Insert micro SD card into gateway
An inserted micro SD memory card allows measurement data to be collected on site. The
memory card can be read out with a card reader.
oFormat micro SD card as FAT32.
oInsert micro SD card into slot (5).
The card is automatically recognized by the device.
Remove micro SD card from gateway
Make sure that no writing cycle is active. The SD-Card LED must not light.
oRemove micro SD card from slot (5).
iA suitable card reader can be used to read out the saved data. Details for reading out data
are contained in the technical documentation.
5 Information for electrically skilled persons
DANGER!
Electrical shock on contact with live parts in the installation environment.
Electrical shocks can be fatal.
Before working on the device, disconnect the power supply and cover up live
parts in the working environment.

5.1 Fitting and electrical connection
Fitting the device
Observe the temperature range. Ensure adequate cooling.
oMount device on DIN rail.
Connecting the device
iWhen selecting the measurement points to be connected and when laying cable, make
sure all dangerous voltages have been disconnected. All connected circuits must be SELV
circuits.
iCaution! Possible device damage due to electromagnetic coupling. Avoid looping with
other circuits or components. Position measurement point gateways as centrally as
possible and guide cables along the supply cables. As needed, use surge protection with
coarse, medium and fine protection.
Figure 3: Avoid looping with other circuits or components
Use a separate power supply for each measurement point gateway (accessories).
oConnect the power supply to terminal (8).
oConnect KNX to terminal (9) via a connecting terminal.
oOptional: Connect PC, IP router, etc., to socket (3).
Observe maximum number of connectable measurement points.
oConnect measurement points to connections M-Bus (1), D0 (4), S01 or S02 (7). Connect
antenna for wireless-M-bus to socket wM-Bus (2). See following section.

Connect PC or router
Saved data can be read out via the integrated Ethernet interface (3). A PC or a mobile device
can be connected either directly, via a network distributor or via a router.

Connect antenna for measurement points with wireless M-bus interface
Figure 7
oPlace the antenna outside of the distribution board and insert antenna cable into the
distribution board. Ensure safe isolation from other voltages.
Transmission quality depends on the distance from the measurement point as well as the
transmission field strength of the measuring point. To ensure good transmission quality, keep a
sufficient distance from possible interference sources, e.g., metallic surfaces, microwave ovens,
hi-fi and TV sets, ballasts or transformers.
oInsert the antenna connector into the wM-Bus socket (2).
oRelive strain on antenna cable.
Connect measurement points with S0 interface
iOnly connect measurement points which ensure safe isolation from other voltages!

oUse RJ10 connector to connect D0 measurement head to socket (4).
oSet optical communication head on the measurement point optical interface.
oRelive strain on cable.
iTo prevent manipulation of communication head (e.g. pulling from measurement point) by
unauthorized persons, access to the measurement point should be locked.
5.2 Commissioning
Load the address and the application software
oSwitch on the bus voltage.
oAssign physical address.
oLoad the application software into the device.
7/9
KNX Metering gateway

oNote the physical address on the device label.
Setting IP address
Necessary when connecting a PC or router to the integrated Ethernet interface. The IP address
can be allocated statically or dynamically via DHCP.
oFor static setting: Enter IP address in the ETS.
oWhen setting via DHCP: Take IP address from the router's address table.
Commissioning M-bus
If M-bus is activated, the connected measurement points are automatically scanned and
allocated according to their secondary addresses. Primary addressing is not supported.
Commissioning the wireless M-bus
Wireless M-bus measurement points cannot be scanned; they can only be received. The
measurement points are recognized and allocated by means of their secondary addresses.
