6.0 NOTE
This product is warranted for 2 years from the date of purchase.
If the fault in the product is due to improper use or operations
carried out by third parties, the warranty is forfeited.
During the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units free of charge.
The faulty units must be sent CARRIAGE FREE to the Elpro offices in Turin with
a regular accompanying note.
The units repaired will be returned CARRIAGE FORWARD to the addressee.
Outside the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units EX its Turin offices,
charging the cost of the repair to the customer.

4.0 INSTALLATION
a) Make sure that the switch on the front of the ABL100 is set to OFF.
Power the device as indicated in chapter 2.0.
b) Connect the incoming unbalanced audio signals using the RCA outlets
c) Connect the destinations to the output terminals of the unit remembering that
signal ais in phase with the input where as signal bis phase opposed.
The GND reference is common to the L and R channels.
WARNING
The balanced signals may travel on
relative long sections of cables.
In this case, it is advisable to use destinations
with differential or balanced inputs
d) Set the switch on the front of the unit to ON.
Check that the led on the front of the unit switches on.
At this point, all the input signals that are unbalanced are balanced on leaving
the unit and with low impedance (600Ω).
WARNING
Output level may be adjusted by internal trimmer of ±6 dB or ±12 dB
in according to the settings described in chapter 3.0
a) Remove the power cable from the unit
b) Remove the cover.
c) Adjust the trimmer for outputs and for each channel (Ch1 and Ch 2 see fig.
in chapter 3.0).
d) Replace the cover
e) Connect the power cable
The unit is factory set at 0 dB gain (Trimmer in the middle position).

The ABL100 unit converts an unbalanced audio signal into a balanced signal. Its
configuration, with 8 incoming and outgoing stereo signals, makes it suitable for
use downstream of 8x8 or higher matrixes.
The ABL100 can also be used as impedance adapter between non-standard
sources and destinations.
The output level of each channel can be adjusted by ±6dB or ±12dB according
to the internal setting of a jumper (see Chapter 3.0).

2.0 POWER SUPPLY
The ABL100 unit must be powered at 230 Vac 50Hz using the cable provided.
The cable must be terminated in the related panel plug on the right at the back
of the unit.
The panel plug is complete with fuse-holder for 5X20 fuses. If the fuse blows,
replace with a fuse with the same rating as specified on the back of the unit.
All operations must be carried out by qualified personnel only
who must be informed of the risks of electric shock
In some countries, the power plug must be adapted to local standards.
The wires are identified according to the following coding:
- Brown PHASE (Identified with the letter L, may be red)
- Blue NEUTRAL (Identified with the letter N, may be black)
- Yellow/Green GROUND (Identified with the letter E, may be green)
WARNING
A ground connection is mandatory.

3.0 SETTINGS
To assure compatibility of the ABL100 with all applications, the output level of
the signal of each channel can be varied by ±6dB or alternatively by ±12dB.
The range of operation is
selected using jumpers
accessible from inside the Unit.
Proceed as follows:
a) Remove the power cable
from the unit
b) Remove the cover.
c) Position the gain jumpers
as required.
WARNING
There are 32 gain jumpers
Set these for each output and for each channel (1 and 2)
following the screen-printed instructions:
6 for ±6dB; 12 for±12dB
d) Replace the cover
e) Connect the power cable
WARNING
The unit is factory set with jumpers at ±6dB
