6.0 NOTES
This product is warranted for 2 years from the date of purchase.
If the fault in the product is due to improper use or operations
carried out by third parties, the warranty is forfeited.
During the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units free of charge.
The faulty units must be sent CARRIAGE FREE to the Elpro offices in Turin with a
regular accompanying note.
The units repaired will be returned CARRIAGE FORWARD to the addressee.
Outside the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units EX its Turin offices,
charging the cost of the repair to the customer.

1.0 OVERVIEW
The CONVI103RR is a splitter and video signal converter from SDI to analog.
The incoming SDI format must comply with the ITU-R 601 standard at 270Mbit/sec.
There are 4 output analog signals, of which one fixed composite type and the other
3 programmable.
The analog outputs can be PAL or NTSC.
Together with the analog outputs, the converter also features 2 equalized,
reclocked digital outputs.
The CONVI103RR consists of a plug-in and of a separate rear part called CRB103
with the connectors for connections with the external world.
The plug-in and the rear part must be inserted in the ELPRO 19" 2RU standard
frame, code DVR-MV/RK.

4.0 INSTALLATION WARNING
The unit must be installed by specialized
personnel informed of the risks of electric shock.
The unit must be installed in the Elpro DVR-MV/RK rack. Installing the rack, it must
not be powered. WARNING
The presence of the CONVI103RR is compatible
with the other plug-ins of the 100 family
1) Fasten the rear part CRB103 to the back of the rack and connect the input and
output signals according to the screen-printed guide present on the back of
the CRB103. WARNING
CONVI103RR can treat only ITU-R601 signals at 270Mbit/sec.
The input signal must be connected to the BNC called SDI IN. The two
regenerated and reclocked digital outputs are available on BNC SDI1 and SDI2.
The PAL (or NTSC) fixed output is present on the BNC called CV. The other 3
BNC represent the outputs that can be programmed using dip-switches 1 and 2
(See paragraph. 2.1)
2) Make the functional settings on the plug-in as explained in paragraph 2.0
3) From the front of the rack, insert the CONVI103RR plug-in so that its connector
is inserted in the edge connector fitted on the rear part of the CRB103.
The CONVI103RR is equipped with a circuit that automatically compensates for
losses in the cable that carries the signal to its input.
WARNING
Use of RG59DS cable assures compensation of a section of 220mt
4) Power on the rack. The CONVI103RR plug-in is also powered automatically.
Check that the ON led is on. If an SDI signal at 270Mbit/sec is present in input, the
SDI IN led must also be ON.
The two SDI outputs and the analog signals are available immediately.
2.0 SETTINGS
An 8-position dip-switch permits a number of settings of the unit. To access the
dip-switch, remove the plug-in from the rack. Setting of the dip-switches according
to the user's requirements is guided by a key screen-printed on the circuit board.
Remember to cut off the power to the DVR-MV/RK rack
before extracting the plug-in from the rack
A list of settings is provided below:
2.1 Selection of the analog outputs. Dip-switches 1 and 2.
Four analog outputs are available. One of these, identified as CV, is always
characterized by a PAL or NTSC composite output according to the format
selected (dip-switch 8).

3.0 LED INDICATOR LIGHTS
The front panel of the CONVI103RR is equipped with two indicator leds.
3.1 Green ON led :switches on when the plug-in is powered correctly and
the internal voltages are correct.
3.2 Green SDI IN led :switches on if a SDI ITU-R601 digital signal at
270Mbit/sec is present in input.
